- Carry Out with Cochon555: Houston Edition on Zoom | Thursday to Saturday | Postponed – Dig into three evenings of multi-course menus with five Houston chefs when the popular touring competition goes digital with virtual chef-hosted dinners featuring custom carry-out menus for one or two people. $115 for one person; $200 for two people. 6:30pm to 7:15pm nightly.
- Apollo Chamber Players’ 20×2020 Virtual Festival Episode 7: Imágenes de Cubaand Episode 8: Piano Quintet Aleppo & String Quartet in E-flat Major | Thursday and Sunday – Episodes 7 and 8 of a twenty-part performance series drop this week, featuring original pieces by composer Arthur Gottschalk with special guest Jesús Pacheco on percussion on Thursday and composer Malek Jandalion Sunday. 7pm both evenings.
- Houston Botanic Garden Opening Weekend: Celebrating Latin America | Friday to Sunday – Stroll among beautiful native flora in a living museum for plants during a weekend filled special programming showcasing the city’s biodiversity at the grand opening of Houston Botanic Garden in South Houston. Tickets are $15; $10 for ages 3 to 15 and students with ID; free for ages 2 and under. 9am to 5pm each day.
- States of Mind: Art and American Democracy Opening Reception at Moody Center for the Arts | Friday and Saturday | FREE – Enjoy two socially distanced art-filled evenings on the Rice campus when the Moody Center’s fall exhibition, States of Mind: Art and American Democracy, kicks off with a DJ set, a live poetry reading, and viewing of artworks rooted in political questions concerning our society, such as voting access, gun control, and immigration policies. 6pm to 8pm both days.
- Comedian Kountry Wayne at Houston Improv | Friday and Saturday – Get your laughs out when social media superstar and stand up comedian, Kountry Wayne, performs a live set of laugh-out-loud, raw material before an in-person crowd at Houston Improv. Tickets are $60 for a table for 2; $120 for a table for 4; $180 for a table for 6; $80 for a preferred table of 2. Showtimes vary.
- Barbs & Chill at Raven Tower | Friday and Saturday | No Cover – Dance the weekend away to the latest indie hits as well as ’80s favorites at a socially distanced, outdoor, pop-up DJ night from the folks behind Barbarella at Raven Tower. 10pm both days.

- Stages Studio Sessions: Raven Justine Troup in Concert Online Performance | Friday to Sunday – Join Stages and musical theater actress Raven Justine Troup (Little Shop of Horrors, Sensitive Guys) for a virtual concert and conversation where she’ll share music and stories throughout an intimate evening of songs. 7:30pm on Friday, followed by a 48-hour on-demand streaming window.
- House of Cards at Discovery Green | Daily | FREE – Marvel at the 18-foot tall double-sided House of Cards, sporting custom artwork from 20 Houston-based artists on the Sarofim Picnic Lawn at Discovery Green. The display is open daily, but RSVPs are required for socially distanced viewing from Friday night until Sunday evening. Times vary.
- Houston Restaurant Weeks 2020 Around Greater Houston | Daily – Get your fix from beloved Houston restaurants now that the popular Houston Restaurant Weeks has extended through Wednesday, September 30, 2020. All meal purchases generate $1 to help the Houston Food Bank feed hungry Houstonians. $20 lunches and brunches; $35 or $45 for dinners.

- 2020 Comcast Hispanic Hero Awards: Virtual Celebration Recognizing Eight of Houston’s Finest | FREE – The fifth annual edition of the awards kick off a monthlong celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month with the debut of the first of eight video vignettes. Each will recognize one of the eight honorees and will debut at 9am on Tuesday and Friday mornings through Tuesday, October 13, 2020. 9am.
- Children’s Museum of Houston presents World Cleanup Day: DIY Water Filter on Facebook Live | FREE – Protect the planet by learning the current processes used by people and nature to help keep our water clean during CMH’s online World Cleanup Day video series. 12:15pm.
- HTX Market at Walking Stick Brewing Company | No Cover – Keep cool at an in-person, evening market featuring plenty of local vendors and artisans at Walking Stick Brewing Company near Shady Acres. No cash will be accepted, only credit cards. 4pm to 5pm.
- Johnny Nicholas & Katie Shore in Concert at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck – Get your country fix with a live, in-person set from singer-songwriter Johnny Nicholas, accompanied by fiddle player Katie Shore, at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck. - Isle of Dogs Movie Screening at The Best Little Drive-In in HTX at Raven Tower – Catch a live screening of Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs, a film following a young boy on a journey to find his lost dog after mutts have been outlawed due to an outbreak of dog flu. The drive-in pop-up is now located at Raven Tower, with room for more cars. $ 30 per vehicle. 7:15pm and 10pm.
- Friday Night Lights Movie Screening at The Walmart Drive-In Theater in League City | FREE – Go long and catch a free movie screening of the beloved 2004 football flick, Friday Night Lights, starring Billy Bob Thornton at a pop-up drive-in theater in front of the Walmart in League City on W FM 646 Road. Gates open 90 minutes before the movie starts. No late entry allowed. Though free, advance tickets are required and no tickets will be available on-site the day of the movie screening. 7:30pm.
- Safe Sounds Music Series: Jackopierce in Concert at The Rustic – Delight in a unique concert experience featuring a seated, socially-distanced dinner and show from the Dallas-based rock band, Jackopierce. Tickets range from $28 to $35. 7:30pm to 10:30pm.
