Green Mountain Energy Ice at Discovery Green | Daily – Lace up your skate rentals and head out onto the ice at the beloved winter tradition in the heart of Houston’s official front yard. $18 includes skate rentals for 75 minutes. Tickets must be ordered in advance online. Times vary.

Broadway Across America: Shucked at Hobby Center | Daily – The hilarious Tony-winning musical comedy focuses on the residents of Cobb County, who embark on a scheme to save their dying corn crop. Expect corny humor, along with adult themes and language. Recommended for ages 10 and up. $40 and up. Showtimes vary.

Space Explorers: The Infinite at Sawyer Yards | Daily | Final Days – The immersive VR experience inspired by NASA missions aboard the International Space Station (ISS) is departing after next Saturday, November 30, but there’s still time to see never-before-seen 360-degree videos captured in space, explore the ISS, and experience life as an astronaut before the epic installation ends its Houston run. $29 and up. Times vary.

Pearland Restaurant Weeks | Daily – Throughout November, Pearland restaurants feature curated menus and specialty offerings, with a portion of every order supporting the Pearland Neighborhood Center. Enjoy fixed-price menus at $20 for 2-course breakfasts and lunches, and $35 for 3-course dinners. Hours and locations vary.

Holiday Pop-Up Sale at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft | Thursday to Saturday | FREE – HCCC’s museum shop, Asher: Off the Wall offers an expanded selection of handcrafted jewelry, objects, wearables, prints, and sparkly gift items made by more than 30 local and national craft artists. Find unique items like papier-mache ornaments, handcrafted earrings, vegan handbags, ceramics, wooden whistles, baby apparel, and more. Pop-up continues through Christmas Eve. 10am to 5pm. 

Great Wolf Lodge Nutcracker Market | Friday & Saturday – The new family-forward resort in Webster hosts a two-day shopping extravaganza, with vendors offering jewelry, gourmet delights, Christmas decorations, yard art and more. $5. Times vary.

Comedian Michael Ian Black at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday & Saturday – Currently starring in CNN’s Have I Got News For You comedy game show, the actor and comedian known for his deep bench of appearances—NBC’s Ed, MTV’s The State, The Jim Gaffigan Show, and Wet Hot American Summer and its sequel series—performs an intimate show on the upstairs Montrose comedy stage. $25 and up. 7pm and 9pm both nights.

Comedian Sammy Obeid at Punch Line Houston | Friday & Saturday – Known for his clever wordplay, musings and misdirection about his Middle Eastern heritage, the popular Palestinian-American comic returns to Houston, landing on the city’s newest comedy stage in Downtown. $35.75 and up. Times vary.  

DASH Holiday Market at The Ballroom at Tanglewood | Friday to Sunday – The fall edition of the highly curated, twice-yearly home décor and gift market features a collection of local and national dealers. Parking, food and a full bar included. $10. Times vary.

Zoo Lights: Opening Weekend at Houston Zoo | Opens Friday – Kick off Zoo Lights season exploring the zoo’s winding paths adorned with holiday lights and check out the new Whimsical Wildlife Tree and the Twinkle Trail in the African Forest. $28.95. 5:30pm to 10:30pm; last entry at 9:30pm nightly..

4th Wall Theatre Company: Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike at Spring Street Studios | Opens Friday – Christopher Durang’s comedy is the story of middle-aged siblings Vanya and Sonia, living an uneventful life in Pennsylvania. Then, their sister Masha shows up with her much-younger love, Spike. Chaos ensues. $32 and up. Showtimes vary.

Houston Cards & More Show at True Anomaly Brewing Company | Saturday & Sunday | FREE – The Cards & More Show sets up at award-winning True Anomaly in EaDo (named Best Texas Brewery for the last two years at the Texas Craft Brewers Festival), where you can buy, sell, or trade sports cards, memorabilia, anime products, comics and collectibles. In addition to the show, activities include live music, raffle giveaways, and food trucks. Noon to 6pm both days.

HTX Fall Festival at The Esplanade at Navigation | Saturday & Sunday | FREE – Plan for a full day of family fun with vendors, free face painting, raffles, prizes, and live music in the heart of Houston’s East End. 1pm to 6pm both days.

Tejano Music Super Fest at Kemah Boardwalk | Saturday & Sunday | FREE – Drop in for two days of family fun and Tejano music. Both days kick off midday with live DJs spinning Tejano favorites and free kids crafts and activities. As the sun sets, live Tejano acts including La Fiebre and South Texas Homies perform live on stage. Times vary.

Comedian Big Jay Oakerson at Houston Improv | Saturday & Sunday – The Philly-born, New York-based “comic’s comic” and comedy festival favorite lands on the Spring Branch comedy stagy for four hilarious shows. $50 and up for a table for two. Times vary.

Catastrophic Theatre: Love Bomb at MATCH | Daily – Brian Jucha’s world premiere is about, well, let’s say, taxi dancers. Even if it isn’t. It is about what people will do for love, and it features music by ‘70s folk pop star Melanie (think “the Roller Skates song”). Pay-What-You-Can; $35 suggested. Showtimes vary.

Pixar Putt at Discovery Green | Daily – Round up your crew for a day or evening of fun, laughs, and photo ops at the outdoor Pixar-inspired putt putt golf pop-up in the heart of Downtown. The 18 holes are inspired by characters and stories from Pixar favorites like Inside Out 2, Toy Story, Cars, Monsters, Inc., Soul, The Incredibles, Luca, and more. The fun is for all ages, but during Pixar After Dark, starting at 7pm Thursday through Saturday, golfers must all be 18 or older. Up to $30 on weekends. Times vary.

Texas History 101: From the Alamo & Goliad to San Jacinto at The Bryan Museum – Brush up on your local history in the third and final edition of the Texas History 101 series with the Museum’s history specialist, Amelia White. $55; $5 members. 5:30pm.

Funky Turkey Thanksgiving Sugar Cookie Decorating Class at Back Pew Brewing Company – Dapply Bakery hosts a 2-hour cookie class for all skill levels at the Kingwood brewery. All materials will be provided, including $10 in drink tokens. $60. 6pm.

Jean Shon, Ariel Wood, & Roslyn M. Dupré Opening Reception at Lawndale Art Center | FREE – Mark the opening of this art installation with the artists displaying works across a wide range of mediums across Lawndale’s three galleries. 6pm to 8pm.

Market Street Annual Tree Lighting Event in The Woodlands | FREE – See the season’s debut of The Woodlands’ 70-foot Christmas tree, with synchronized twinkling lights and holiday music, accompanied by more than 25,000 lights around Central Park. 6pm to 8pm.

French Food & Wine Festival at The Brittmoore – The French American Chamber of Commerce networking mixer will celebrate the best of French culture with bites, drinks, and art. $159. 6pm to 9pm.

DASH Holiday Market Preview Party at The Ballroom at Tanglewood – Get early access to the high quality home décor and gift dealers before general admission begins on Friday morning. Specialty Tito’s cocktail, wine, beer, and light bites included. $40. 6pm to 9pm.

Sip & Sparkle at Houston Zoo Lights – Get a sneak peak at the 2024 Zoo Lights, without any kids around, at a special 21+ mixer featuring hot chocolate, wine, sparkling lights, a glistening light tunnel, and more. $59 with wine tastings; $45 entry only. 6pm to 10pm.

Better Than Ezra in Concert at House of Blues – The New Orleans-based alt-rock band that first rose to fame in the ’90s brings the third edition of their limited Legends of the Fall tour, this time branded Tokyo Drift, to Downtown Houston. Graham Colton opens. $39.50 and up. 6:30pm.

Dreamgirls Movie Screening at Trebly Park | FREE – Downtown’s newest park space presents a screening of the 2006 musical Dreamgirls (PG-13), starring Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson, and Anika Noni Rose, Bring your lawn blanket and your own food, or order from nearby restaurants. 6:30pm.

Family Treasures Lost & Found Documentary Screening at Holocaust Museum Houston | FREE with RSVP – Journalist Karen A. Frenkel investigates her parents’ unspoken WWII stories, finding astonishing revelations of her family’s journeys through Europe, Cuba, Mexico, and New York. 6:30pm.

ROCO Unchambered: Into The Light with Bernhard Scully & Matthew McClung in Concert at Dan Flavin Installation at Richmond Hall | FREE – The Menil’s often overlooked Dan Flavin Installation on Richmond plays concert venue to ROCO’s curated 90-minute concert featuring the duo of hornist Bernhard Scully and percussionist Matthew McClung. 7pm.

3rd Annual Shuck Cancer at Post Houston Enjoy bites and sips from more than 25 top H-Town restaurants, bars, and wineries featuring vino and oyster pairings alongside a variety of other dishes at a fundraiser to help The Houston Young Professionals for the American Cancer Society support people with cancer and their families. $150. 7pm to 10pm.

Kacey Musgraves in Concert at Toyota Center – The country, pop, folk artist—and seven-time Grammy-winner—brings her Deeper Well Tour to Downtown, joined by Lord Huron and Nickel Creek join the show. $59. 7:30pm.

Drunk Shakespeare at the Emerald Theatre – Five fearless actors take on a Shakespearian classic after downing several shots of assorted liquors, sending the show in unexpected directions. Guests can order cocktails delivered directly to their seats. $29 and up. 7:30pm.

Polo G in Concert at Bayou Music Center – Known for his introspective lyrics, captivating flow, and raw emotion, multi-platinum rapper Polo G hits Downtown Houston on his Hood Poet Tour, with Chicago rapper VonOff1700 opening. $28 and up. 8pm.

Art of the Month: The Yellow Scale Tour at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston – Get a deeper understanding of artist František Kupka’s work The Yellow Scale, exploring the nuances of his techniques and image on canvas.Guided tour included with MFAH admission. 1:30pm.

Plant Based Junk Food Pop-Up at Brash Brewing Company | No Cover – Vulture Food brings their highly sought-after crispy chik’n sandwiches and loaded fries, all prepared in a nut-free environment, to the Independence Heights brewery. 4pm to 8pm.

Classic Handmade Pasta Cooking Class at AC Hotel Houston Downtown – Learn how to make the perfect pasta dough and craft it into tagliatelle noodles, along with a  classic and creamy Carbonara sauce to pair together. Drinks available for purchase. Future dates available. $69. 5:30pm.

City Lights Downtown Holiday Magic Kick-Off Party | FREE – Enjoy live music, strolling entertainment, and a craft station as Downtown launches the 2024 City Lights event. Lights on at 6:15pm. 5:30pm to 8pm. 

Platform: Eva LeWitt Opening Reception at Shepherd School of Music’s Alice Pratt Brown Hall – See the debut of Rice’s newest monumental, wall-based, and musically inspired sculpture inside the Shepherd School of Music. Guests are welcome to step in and observe the Shepherd School Chamber Players in the Stude Concert Hall, preparing for a show in early December. 6pm to 8pm.

Dining in the Dark: A Blindfolded Dining Experience at Weights + Measures – Savor a secret three-course meal while blindfolded, heightening your senses of taste and smell. NBA Cup: Houston Rockets vs. Portland Trail Blazers at Toyota Center – The Rockets face off against the boys from the Pacific Northwest in the run up to the final NBA Cup tourney happening in Vegas next month. $29 and up, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the online ticket resale market. 7pm.

John Hiatt in Concert at House of Blues The 72-year old Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, known for a songbook that spans new wave, blues, and country, performs in Downtown Houston. Chris Lively opens. $64 and up. 7pm.

Silent Night Disco at Market Square Park | FREE – Slip on a pair of glowing headphones and choose from multiple DJ-curated playlists featuring holiday classics, upbeat hits, and wintery vibes at this weekly family-friendly holiday season pop-up. 7pm to 9pm. 

Vinnie & The Montage: Live at The Table at Madeley | FREE – Take in a live set of energetic blues covers in Conroe while enjoying tasty food truck dishes at the city’s only downtown food truck park. 7:30pm to 9pm. 

Kinetic Ensemble: The Strangers’ Case at Sanman Studios – Kinetic performs a program of chamber music that previews a new work for voice and strings written by Houston composer Karim Al-Zand. Alexandra Smither the new work and selections from Errollyn Wallen’s songbook. $20. 7:30pm.

Comedian Lewis Black at 713 Music Hall – Known for his heated venting rants—which won him the job of voicing Anger in Pixar’s Inside Out films—and his pod RantCast, the veteran comedian plays a Houston stage one last time on his Goodbye Yeller Brick Road: The Final Tour. $59 and up. 8pm.

Susto in Concert at The Heights Theater – Touring in support of their fifth LP, My Entire Life—written in response to major life changes in frontman Justin Osborne’s life—Suston brings their mix of rock, folk, psychedelia, and country-like storytelling to the historic Heights. Scott Ballew opens. $20. 8pm.

Whitey Morgan & the 78s in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – Hailing out of Flint, Michigan, the award-winning, self-proclaimed “rowdy-ass Honky Tonk” country band kicks up some dust on WOMH’s downstairs stage. $25. 8pm.

Lego Night at Houston Toy Museum – Roll up your sleeves for a night of brick building with the good folks at Houston Toy Museum in the Heights. Choose from 25 different Lego sets, including Thanksgiving and Christmas options priced, from $14.99 to $109.99 and order in advance. $8 entry museum admission, so show up early to check out vintage toys from your childhood. 8pm to 10pm.

The Short & Sweet Speakeasy: A Sexy Burlesque Show at Avant Garden – Take in a live 90-minute burlesque show featuring local talents and a special guest in elaborate costumes, high production quality and more. Tickets include your first drink. $35. 8pm and 10pm.

Jason Ross: Atlas Dimensions Live Set at Stereo Live – The L.A.-based EDM DJ and record producer will be joined by Blossom and Godlands for a late night of dancing on the floor at the west side club. $25.99. 10pm to 2am.

Toolroom Records’ Mark Knight Live Set at Bauhaus – British DJ, the head honcho of the United Kingdom’s Toolroom Records, and house music heavyweight Mark Knight hits the decks at the Downtown Houston hotspot. $15 and up. 10pm to 2am.
