Whether you want to take your love out for dinner, shake things up with a beer and cheese pairing, or stay in and add a box of chocolates to your low-key plans, we’ve created a list of our favorites happening the week of Valentine’s Day 2020.

With the official holiday happening at the very beginning of the weekend, there are Valentine’s Day-themed events and dinners starting as early as Saturday, February 8 and continuing through the big day itself and the end of the weekend.

Valentine’s Dinners

  • Valentine’s Dinner at Le Bistro | Thursday, February 13 to Saturday, February 15 – The Valentine’s Dinner at Le Bistro will feature a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, a three-course meal, a long-stemmed rose for the table and live music. $39 per person. 5:30pm each day.
  • Valentine’s Weekend at The Grove | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15 – Celebrate with your loved one at The Grove restaurant at Discovery Green for Valentine’s Day weekend. There will be a la carte dining options in addition to a three-course and family-style dinner. A la carte options prices vary. The three-course dinner is $100 per couple. 5pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Dinner at Brasserie Du Parc | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15 – Make your way to Downtown to enjoy a 3-course Valentine’s Day dinner that includes Maine lobster bisque, roasted duck leg confit, dark chocolate lava cake and more at Brasserie Du Parc. $62 per person. 5pm.
  • Valentine’s Dinner at Le Bistro | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15 – The Valentine’s Dinner at Le Bistro will feature a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, a three-course meal, a long-stemmed rose for the table and live music. $39 per person. 5:30pm each day.
  • Valentine’s Murder Mystery Dinner at Maggiano’s | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15 – Watch performers from The Murder Mystery Company entertain and lead you through a fun and exciting mystery tour while enjoying a 3-course dinner at Maggiano’s. Tickets are $67 per person. 7pm both nights.
  • Romance Under the Sea at Downtown Aquarium | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Bring your sweetheart to the Downtown Aquarium for a romantic 4-course dinner and a bottle of wine. $100 per couple. 11am to 10pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Wine & Chocolate Pairing at Buy the Glass Wine Bar & Lounge | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Experience 3 romantic chocolate and wine pairings along with a brief presentation with fun facts about the pairings at Buy the Glass Wine Bar & Lounge in Spring. Tickets are $25 per person. 3pm to 10pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Menu at Xochi | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Bring your loved one to Xochi, an Oaxacan restaurant in Downtown, for a menu that features plantain cakes, braised duck picadillo, scallops in mole verde and more. $79 per person. 4pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Dinner at Hugo’s | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Take your sweetheart to Hugo’s modern Mexican restaurant in Montrose for a romantic 4-course dinner that features shrimp empanadas, wood-grilled lamb chops and more. $79 per person. 5pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Steak Night at 11 Below Brewing Company | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – The northwest Houston craft brewery hosts a special Valentine’s Day Steak Night, featuring food by Made in L.A. Menu prices vary. 5pm to 9pm.
  • Valentine’s Dinner at Brasserie 19 | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Join Brasserie 19 in River Oaks for a Valentine’s Day 3-course, prix-fixe menu that includes French onion soup, Filet Mignon Au Poivre, cheesecake and more. $68 per person. 5pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Dinner at Backstreet Cafe | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Indulge in a 4-course Valentine’s Day dinner that features roasted oysters, beef carpaccio, duck confit and more at Backstreet Cafe. There will also be live jazz music by Bob Chadwick. $79 per person. 5pm.
  • Valentine’s Dinner at Rainbow Lodge | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Bring a date to enjoy a 3-course Valentine’s Dinner with dishes like seared scallops, a Spanish style halibut, petite lobster tail and more at Rainbow Lodge. The dinner also includes a glass of sparkling wine. $85 per person. 5pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Dinner at Étoile Cuisine et Bar | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Celebrate love with a 4-course Valentine’s Day menu that includes Maine lobster bisque, seared striped sea bass, winter vegetable risotto, dessert and more at Étoile Cuisine et Bar. $78 per person. 5pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Menu at Caracol | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Enjoy a tasty Mexican Coastal Valentine’s Day menu with wood-roasted Gulf oysters, lobster rice, slow-roasted pork shank with mole, Mexican chocolate tart and more at Caracol. There will be live music by Ikaru. $85 per person. 5pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Sunset Cruise in Galveston | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Spend a romantic evening aboard the Seagull II for the Valentine’s Day Sunset Cruise in Galveston. The couples-only cruise will feature complimentary chocolate-covered strawberries in historic Galveston harbor. $35 per person. 5:15pm to 6:30pm. 
  • Valentine’s Day at Hermann Park | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Bring your sweetheart to Hermann Park for a romantic dinner on Pinewood Cafe’s patio overlooking McGovern Lake and a half-hour cruise for two in a pedal boat. Tickets are $65 per couple. There will be a dinner at 5:30pm and 7pm.
  • Love Bugs & Love Bites Valentine’s Dinner at The Health Museum | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – The Health Museum hosts a unique Valentine’s Day dining experience, Love Bugs & Love Bites, a dinner that includes one of the most sustainable proteins on the planet, crickets. The 3-course menu will feature a corn and cricket arepa, pan-seared chicken and cricket mole negro, a variety of desserts, and a wine pairing option. Tickets are $59; $75 with wine pairing. 6pm to 10pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Beer Dinner at City Acre Brewing Co. | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Bring a date and enjoy an elegant, four-course beer dinner in the parlor of City Acre’s Victorian-style manor on Valentine’s Day. The menu includes a pan-seared filet of beef with smoked pork belly for the entree, strawberry cheesecake for dessert and more. Tickets are $59.95 per person. There will be at 7pm seating and a 9pm seating.
  • Valentine’s Day Dinner & Show with Kelly Willis at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Jam out to music from singer-songwriter, Kelly Willis, while enjoying a four-course dinner at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck. Tickets are $95 in advance; $100 at the door. 7pm.

Valentine’s Events

  • Flea at Silver Street: Valentine’s Flea at Silver Street Studios | Saturday, February 8 and Sunday, February 9 – Silver Street Studios’ Valentine’s Day flea market will feature one-of-a-kind collectibles, jewelry, vintage finds, artwork, mid-century modern furniture, and original designs. Support local artists, designers, and craftsmen and shop a curated market with 100 vendors at Silver Street Studios. Other activities will include a full bar, food trucks, a pet adoption event and more. Tickets are $5, but you can score half-price admission with promocode 365HTX when you purchase tickets online; ages under 12 get in free. 10am to 5pm both days.
  • Midtown Valentine’s Market at Baldwin Park | Saturday, February 8 | No Cover – Feel the love when Midtown Houston hosts a sweet Valentine’s Day Market at Elizabeth Baldwin Park. The pop-up market will feature a hand-picked selection of quality crafts and arts as well as plenty of local vendors selling unique Valentine’s Day gifts. 10am to 5pm.
  • Beers, Art & Love: Valentines Bash at Saint Arnold Brewing Co. | Saturday, February 8 – Shop for your loved ones with this Valentines-themed market of artwork, vintage goods, jewelry, body products and more at Saint Arnold Brewery. You can enjoy a card crafting station, craft beer, and old-school tunes throughout the day. 11am to 4pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Cooking Class at Sur La Table | Thursday, February 13 – Learn to make sweets for your sweet at the Valentine’s Day Cooking Class at Sur La Table in Sugar Land. Make jewel-toned macarons delicately piped and filled with buttercream and white chocolate ganache. You will practice the techniques for folding, piping and baking your own macarons. $69 per person. 9am. 
  • Couples Therapy Valentine’s Retreat at Houston Improv | Thursday, February 13 | 2-for-1 Tickets – Houston comic Alan Adams hosts a special Valentine’s Day edition of his popular comedy showcase, which picks about the foibles of love and dating. Tickets range from $15 to $25, but you can score 2-for-1 tickets with promocode Couples365. 8pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Battle of the Sexes Comedy Show at Pub Fiction | Valentine’s Day, February 14 – The annual Valentine’s Day Battle of the Sexes Comedy Show will feature stand up performances from nationally known comics like Keisha Hunt and Charles Allen as well as local comics like Dusti Rhodes, Rich Williams and more at Pub Fiction. Tickets range from $20 to $75, but a limited number of premium $45 tickets are available discounted to $22.50. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Piñata Workshop at Eureka Heights Brew Co. | Valentine’s Day, February 14 – Make your very own conversation heart piñata at this Valentine’s Day workshop at Eureka Heights Brew Co. All will be provided except candy to fill the piñata. Tickets are $25 per person. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Nightbird in Concert at Ballroom at Bayou Place | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Spend Valentine’s Day enjoying the tunes of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks with a live performance from Nightbird at Ballroom at Bayou Place. Full admission includes dinner, dessert, and the concert. Late-night admission will include dessert and concert only. Tickets start at $35. 6:30pm.
  • Wax & Wine: A Special Valentine’s Day Workshop at Love & Make | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Love & Make in Rice Village presents Wax & Wine: A Special Valentine’s Day Workshop, which combines its signature candle making workshop with a wine tasting experience by Vinology. Guests will receive three wine tastings selected from vineyards around the world. Tickets are $70 per person and include the candle-making workshop and the wine tasting and light bites. 6:30pm to 9pm.
  • Valentine’s Dinner Lecture: The Spirit of Love at Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Experience a unique Valentine’s Day with The Spirit of Love dinner and lecture at the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land. The evening includes cocktails, a mixing experience, a three-course meal with wine service and time to explore the new Hall of Technology. Tickets are $160 per couple (members); $180 for nonmember couples. 6:30pm. 
  • Valentine’s Day at Howl at the Moon | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Celebrate Valentine’s Day with drink specials, giveaways, date night packages, live music and more at Howl at the Moon. Cover charge at the door. 7pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Murder Mystery Dinner at Constellation Field | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Bring a date to the Valentine’s Day Murder Mystery Dinner at Constellation Field in Sugar Land. Enjoy dinner while putting your true crime detective skills to work with your sweetheart at the ballpark. Tickets are $75 each. 7pm to 10pm. 
  • Love + Libations: An Inclusive LGBTQ Affair at 5001 Navigation Blvd | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Houston native and singer Christina Wells has partnered with Creole food Chef NaTosha “Tae” Barber for an inclusive evening of love, catering to the LGBTQ+ community on Valentine’s Day. Expect live music, great food, dancing and more. Tickets range from $100 to $250. 8pm.
  • Lady Bits: Houston’s Funniest Women Valentine’s 2020 at The Secret Group | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – The Secret Group hosts a Valentine’s Day comedy show, Lady Bits, featuring sets from Voice of the Black Sheep, Alicia Stevens, De De T, L’eah Sampso and more. Tickets are $8 in advance; $12 day of; $14 at the door. 8pm to 10pm.
  • Jazz on Valentine’s Concert: Raquel Cepeda at MATCH | Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14 – Local jazz singer and songwriter Raquel Cepeda hosts her 5th annual Jazz on Valentine’s concert at MATCH. Cepeda will be performing timeless standards like “Fever”, “I Put a Spell On You” and originals like “Little Gem” with a live band. Tickets range from $25 to $70. 8pm.
  • Valentine’s with Patti LaBelle & Babyface at Smart Financial Centre | Sunday, February 16 – Patti LaBelle and Babyface perform a Valentine’s Day-inspired concert at Smart Financial Centre in Sugar Land for one evening only. Tamia opens. Tickets range from $49.50 to $250.50, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale website. 7pm.
