  • The Curt Miller Magic & Comedy Show 2017 at Moody Gardens | Monday, July 3 and Sunday, July 9  – Magician and illusionist Curt Miller blends magic, music, dance, and clean comedy. Expect to see people levitate and vanish before your eyes in this family-friendly Vegas-style magic show. Tickets are $23; $16 for ages 3 to 12. There will be a performance at 1pm and 7:30pm each day.
  • 4th of July family events around Houston | Tuesday, July 4 – Learn about our country’s history at George Ranch Historical Park, watch an outdoor concert at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion or marvel at beautiful fireworks displays at events kids and adults, alike can enjoy.
  • Disney’s The Lion King at The Hobby Center | Wednesday, July 5 to Saturday, July 8 – Experience the six-time Tony Award-winning musical, The Lion King, as it returns to The Hobby Center. Tickets start at $50. Tuesday to Thursday at 7:30pm; Friday and Saturday at 8pm; Sunday at 6:30pm.
  • Toddler Music with Sessions at Sugar Land Town Square | Thursday, July 6 | FREE – Immerse your child in a musical atmosphere of play, song, and dance, all while developing fundamental skills and connecting with other moms, dads, and families at Sugar Land Town Square. Recommended for ages newborn to 7 years old. 9:30am to 10am.
  • Tanabata at The Woodlands Children’s Museum | Friday, July 7 – Celebrate Tanabata, also known as Evening of the Seventh or the Star Festival in Japan, with the kids at The Woodlands Children’s Museum. $6 for general admission. All day.
  • International Bacon Fest at HTX Sports Creek | Friday, July 7 – The International Bacon Fest will feature bacon and pork-inspired dishes from around the world. Expect plenty of tastings, as well as carnival rides, live music, a bacon-eating competition, games, crafts, a pig pen and more. Tickets start at $10, but you may find limited discounted tickets for $5. 1pm to 7pm.
  • Youth Performance Poetry at Levy Park Conservancy | Friday, July 7 | FREE – Enjoy this open mic where young writers can craft original poems, meet other young writers, and work with professional performance poets to explore their creative voices at Levy Park. 7pm to 8:30pm.
  • Smitty’s Day at the Park at Levy Park | Saturday, July 8 | FREE – The Wade Smith Foundation brings current and former NFL players, collegiate student athletes, professional dancers, cheerleaders, authors, musicians, and artists to host this camp for kids grades K to 6 at Levy Park. Kids can learn choreographed dancing, play games, read books, learn about health and fitness and more. 8am to 3pm.
  • The Harlem Globetrotters at NRG Arena | Saturday, July 8 – Watch the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters, featuring some of the most electrifying athletes on the planet and see for yourself why the Globetrotters have won hundreds of millions of fans worldwide when they hit the court at the NRG Arena. Tickets start at $19, not including ticket fees, but you may find limited discounted tickets. There will be a game at 2pm and another at 7pm.
  • Disney’s Pete’s Dragon Movie Screening at Sugar Land Town Square | Saturday, July 8 | FREE – Bring the kiddos to enjoy Disney’s live action 2016 remake if it’s 1977 live-action/animation hybrid under the stars at Sugar Land Town Square. 8:30pm to 10pm.
  • Trolls Movie Screening at Discovery Green | Saturday, July 8 | FREE – Bring a few blankets and lawn chairs and watch the Dreamworks animated movie, Trolls, under the skyline at Discovery Green. 8:30pm.
  • Fidget and Fusion Workshop for Teens at TXRX Labs | Sunday, July 9 – In this course, students will design fidget spinners and learn to navigate the Fusion 360 user interface, create constrained parametric sketches, extrude sketches to 3D objects, and modify those objects dynamically by dimensioning sketches. $50 per person.
