Salute those who have served at events around Houston during Veterans Day on Monday, November 11, 2024, and beyond.

Celebrate the hard work, service, and dedication of veterans and active military with parades, ceremonies, and events around Houston that honor members of the armed forces.

Veterans Day 2024 Events Around Houston

Veterans Appreciation Luncheon at Sylvan Beach Pavilion in La Porte | Wednesday, November 6 – Come together to honor veterans and their service with special guest speakers Commissioner Adrian Garcia and Katie Cook, the first female to fly for the Blue Angels in La Porte. Registration is required. 11am to 2pm.

Veterans Day Celebration at No Label Brewery | Wednesday, November 6 | FREE Gather in Katy for a family-friendly Veterans Day celebration and enjoy burgers and hot dogs, live music, kids activities, an arcade trailer, and more. Veterans can show proof of service for meal tickets. 5pm to 8pm.

2nd Annual Mighty Oaks Veterans Day Run in Conroe | Saturday, November 9 – Join Mighty Oaks for the 2nd Annual Veterans Day Run – where the mission is to raise awareness about the Veteran Suicide epidemic and the Mighty Oaks Foundation. Tickets range from $35 to $40. 8am to 10:30am.

Woodforest Veterans Day Ruck/Walk at Beerforest Bar | Saturday, November 9 | No Cover – Connect with veterans and the community as The Montgomery sports bar hosts a walk from the bar to Christine Allen Nature Park. Afterward, stick around for a college football watch party with snacks and drinks. 9am.

Honoring WWI Veterans Ceremony at Buffalo Soldiers National Museum | Saturday, November 9 | FREE with RSVP Join BSNM and the Consulate General of France for a wreath-laying ceremony commemorating WWI veterans, which will be followed by a tour the latest traveling exhibition, The Buffalo Division in Action, chronicling the history and impact of the 92nd Division in WWI and WWII. RSVP required. 11am.

Pearland Veterans Day Walk at Pearland Natatorium & Recreation Center | Saturday, November 9 – Walk to honor and support veterans and their families as they face the challenges of PTSD, depression, and other battles. Proceeds will benefit Camp Hope, Combat Marine Outdoors, Community Assistance Providers, and HIKE for Mental Health.$20 per person. Kids under 17 are free with an adult. 8am to 10am.

Salute to Military & First Responders at Kemah Boardwalk | Saturday, November 9 & Sunday, November 10 | FREE – Honor those who serve with special activities and heartfelt recognition at Kemah Boardwalk. Enjoy exclusive discounts, fireworks, live entertainment, and a day of fun dedicated to our heroes. Saturday 9am to 10am and 10am to 9pm on Sunday.

Free BBQ at Feges BBQ Spring Branch | Sunday, November 10 – Owner Patrick Feges, an Iraq war veteran and Purple Heart recipient, and co-owner and wife Erin Smith continue their support for the veteran community, offering free bbq to all service members this Veterans Day (as well as offering a free meal program for veterans every Friday supported by donations from members of the community). 11am to 3pm.

Veterans Day Chili Cookoff at Home Run Dugout | Sunday, November 10 | No Cover – Local breweries will compete in a competition to see who can make the best chili – the only catch being that they must use their beer in the chili. Winners will be decided by a panel of local celebrity judges. All proceeds will benefit the Katy VFW. 1pm.

Veteran’s Day Discount at Kemah Boardwalk | Veterans Day, Monday, November 11 – Active military, veterans, and their families can head to Kemah Boardwalk to buy one All Day Ride Pass, and get one free of equal or lesser value. Noon to 8pm.

The Woodlands Township Veterans Day Tribute at Central Fire Station | Veterans Day, Monday, November 11 | FREE The Woodlands Township Veterans Day Tribute will feature a presentation of colors, musical performances, remarks by local dignitaries, a Village troop donation challenge, and more. A care package drop off will be onsite throughout the event to accept donations of recommended items to be shipped to the troops. 4pm to 5pm.

City of Houston’s Veterans Day Celebration at City Hall | Veterans Day, Monday, November 11 | FREE  The City of Houston pays tribute to the people of the military at the annual Houston Salutes American Heroes Veterans Day Celebration. There will be a traditional Veterans Day ceremony with acknowledgments and a distinguished keynote speaker recognizing the local heroes, a moment of silence, and the American Heroes Parade. 10am.

Brazoria County Veteran’s Day Parade 2024 at Independence Park | Veterans Day, Monday, November 11 | FREE The 26th annual Veterans Day Parade of Brazoria County, dedicated to honoring the courageous veterans who have served our nation, will be proudly hosted by VFW Post 7109 at Independence Park. 11am to 2:30pm.

Veterans Day Observance at Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Commission | Veterans Day, Monday, November 11 | FREE Join Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Commission and show appreciation for veterans with musical presentations, guest speakers, and the dedication of The Line. 9am to 10:30am.

Veteran’s Day Discount at Downtown Aquarium | Veterans Day, Monday, November 11 – The Downtown Aquarium offers a 20% discount for veterans. Must show valid ID to receive the offer. 10am to 8:30pm.

3rd Annual Veterans Day Ceremony at Buffalo Soldiers National Museum | Veterans Day, Monday, November 11 | FREE – Join BSNM on Veterans Day for free museum admission and special events to honor the nation’s veterans. Guests can view the museum’s latest traveling exhibition, The Buffalo Division in Action, which chronicles the history and impact of the 92nd Division in WWI and WWII. This event is open to the public; however, registration is required. 10am to 4pm.

Veterans Week at the National Museum of Funeral History | Veterans Day, Monday, November 11 to Saturday, November 15 | FREE for Active Duty & Veterans – Veterans and active service members are welcome to visit the fascinating museum that spans science, history, and culture, and features numerous patriotic exhibits, including Presidential Funerals, Reflections on the Wall, 9/11 and Fallen Heroes Tribute, Jazz Funerals of New Orleans, and more. 10am to 4pm weekdays; 10am to 5pm Saturday.
