See the latest performing arts productions and theater happenings opening across Houston from Monday, June 8 to Sunday, June 14, 2026.

I saw Terrence McNally’s Frankie & Johnny in the Clair de Lune at Trinity Repertory Company in Providence when I was a sophomore in college, and I have been captivated by it ever since. This two-character play is in the hands of The Rec Room this month, with two amazing Houston artists in the title roles. You will find me there on opening night.

On stage this week, you’ll find a classic ballet, a world-premiere dance project and an homage to the legacy of an extraordinary singer and songwriter. A family story lights up the stage in Brenham. And the villain from a beloved story gets to have his say in a kids production.

Finally, a personal shout-out: If you’ve not seen Tamara Siler on stage in her solo Sinners & Saints show at Main Street Theater, you’re missing out. This evening of music and memories is a wonderful experience, highlighting some of Siler’s favorite songs and roles, and influences on her life. Don’t miss this one.

Go see performing arts, Houston!
