- “Heart of Gold” Dinner Menu at Hungry’s | All Month Long – This fundraising initiative takes place during the entire month of November at both the lRice Village and Memorial locations, with funds benefiting Mayor Sylvester Turner and County Judge Ed Emmett’s Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. The Heart of Gold menu offers three prix-fixe courses for $25; and for each menu sold, $4 will be donated to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. The special menu is only available during dinner hours. Sunday through Thursday 5pm to 10pm; Friday and Saturday 5pm to 11pm.
- 9th Annual Picnic in the Park at Levy Park | Thursday, November 2 – This annual charity event brings together food lovers, businesses, and philanthropists in raising money for SEARCH Homeless Services (SEARCH), a United Way organization dedicated to fighting homelessness in the Houston area. This year’s evening under the stars includes bites and drinks from over a dozen local favorites, including Emmaline, Kiran’s, Songkran Thai Kitchen, State Fare, and Tiny Boxwoods. Tickets are $100 for individuals, with additional underwriting opportunities available. 6pm to 9pm.
- Texas Renaissance Festival in Todd Mission, TX | Weekends through Sunday, November 26 – Stroll through the fairgrounds and mingle with unusual characters while enjoying smoked turkey legs and a glass of mead fit for a king during this Renaissance-themed celebration. Special weekends include the Barbarian Invasion on Saturday, November 4 and Sunday, November 5; Heroes and Villains on Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12; Highland Fling on Saturday, November 18 and Sunday, November 19; and Celtic Christmas on Friday, November 24 to Sunday, November 26. Tickets are $23.95 plus fees for advance tickets; $30 at the gate for adults; $11.95 plus fees for children’s advance tickets; $15 at the gate for children. 9am to 8pm.
- Chef Tory Dinner: 50th Anniversary at Brennan’s of Houston | Tuesday, November 7 – This special dinner celebrates the Golden Age of Creole with Chef Tory McPhail of the historic Commander’s Palace. McPhail and host Chef Joe Cervantez will collaborate to create a golden experience, featuring a cocktail reception followed by a four-course dinner paired with wines. Tickets are $95 per person, plus gratuity. 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
- Iron Sommelier at The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa | Thursday, November 9 – The Periwinkle Foundation will be hosting their 10th Anniversary Iron Sommelier, featuring a premier wine competition and tasting. The city’s most prestigious sommeliers will compete for the title of Iron Sommelier, as each selects three wines that focus on a particular wine region, grape or style and personally presents the wines they are pouring. Tickets are $200 in advance and $225 day of. 6pm to 10pm.
- Gigi’s BrewHaHa at White Oak Music Hall | Thursday, November 9 – Locals are invited to a night of comedy, live music, all-you-can-eat barbecue, and craft suds. Tickets are $100 and include a comedy show from Rob Snow and live music from Houston band Tipsy Kitchen, dinner, wine pulls, craft beer and auction, with funds benefiting the Down Syndrome Achievement Center. 6:30pm to 10:30pm.
- Brandy Class at Public Services Wine & Whisky | Saturday, November 11 – This class will explore the category of Brandy from a bird’s eye view, as the group explores classic expressions from Europe and finishes with modern, new-world examples. Snacks from allstar pastry chef Karen Man will also be served. Tickets are $65 plus tax. 2pm.
- 12th International Risotto Festival at The Houston Design Center | Sunday, November 12 – Foodies and wine lovers are invited to attend this gourmet strolling event, which includes an afternoon of Italian eats and wonderful wines, samplings of antipasti, a risotto throwdown and tastings from Houston’s top chefs, Italian music and entertainment, exotic car display, activities for kids and designer showroom tours. Tickets are $75 to $300. 2pm to 6pm.
- Fried Chicken Throwdown at Field & Tides | Tuesday, November 14 – Chefs Richard Knight (formerly of Feast and Hunky-Dory) and Travis Lenig (Field & Tides) will be facing off in a fried bird throwdown. Guests can pay $30 and receive two pieces of each chef’s fried chicken and one complimentary beer or cocktail. Proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. 6pm to 9pm.
- Houstonia Burger Bash at The Water Works at Buffalo Bayou Park | Saturday, November 18 – Over 20 restaurants face off to take home the title of Houston’s Best Burger at Houstonia’s annual Burger Bash. Get a taste of the city’s best burgers, from the luxurious and home-style to carb-conscious and veggie-friendly, alongside drinks and family-centric entertainment. Tickets range between $20 to $70. Noon to 5pm.
- Le Dîner en Blanc at Secret Location | Saturday, November 18 – The 2017 version of this chic pop-up picnic, which originated in Paris nearly 30 years ago, is returning for the third year. At the last minute, the secret location will be revealed to thousands of locals, all dressed all in white and ready for an evening of elegance, beauty, and community. Register online for $37 plus an $8 membership fee. Time TBA.
- BrewMasters Craft Beer Festival at Moody Gardens Convention Center | Friday, November 24 through Sunday, November 26 – Originally planned for Labor Day weekend but postponed due to the hurricane, this fan-favorite craft beer festival is bringing the fun all weekend long, with highlights including Friday’s Nach-Yo Ordinary Tequila Tasting and Brewmaster’s Pub Crawl; Saturday’s BrewHaHa Grand Tasting and Texas Brewery Tour; and Sunday’s Brew-B-Que. Tickets for Weekender passes are $165, while prices vary for individual events. Times vary per event.
