- BrewMasters Craft Beer Festival at Moody Gardens Convention Center | Friday, August 31 to Sunday, September 2 – Taste hundreds of rare and specialty brews at the three-day BrewMasters Craft Beer Festival in the Moody Gardens Convention Center. Throughout the weekend, beer enthusiasts can attend a tequila tasting, beer and barbecue lunch, and a grand tasting, complete with informational seminars and exclusive beer samples. - Journey and Def Leppard in Concert at Toyota Center | Saturday, September 1 and Monday, September 3 – Feed your love of ‘80s rock at a doubleheader concert from Journey and Def Leppard at Toyota Center in Downtown. Expect to hear iconic songs like “Don’t Stop Believin’” and “Pour Some Sugar on Me.” Tickets start at $49.50, but you may find cheaper of better seats on the TicketNetwork resale marketplace. 7pm both nights.
- Mexico vs. Uruguay at NRG Stadium | Friday, September 7 – Root for the Mexican National or Uruguayan soccer team when the two go head to head in a game at NRG Stadium. Tickets start at $36, but you may find better or cheaper seats using the TicketNetwork online market. 8:30pm.
- Oklahoma! at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts | Tuesday, September 11 to Sunday, September 23 – Kick off TUTS’ 50th anniversary season while celebrating the 75th anniversary of Oklahoma! at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. Together with the Houston Ballet, TUTS brings the Roger and Hammerstein classic to life through show-stopping dancing, acting, and musical numbers. Tickets start at $30. Showtimes vary.
- Beyoncé & Jay-Z in Concert at NRG Stadium | Saturday, September 15 and Sunday, September 16 – Bow down to the ultimate power couple that is Beyoncé and Jay-Z as they join forces for the On The Run II tour in the Queen Bey’s hometown. The duo will perform songs from their joint album, Everything is Love. Tickets start at $79, but you may find better or cheaper seats using the TicketNetwork online market. 8:30pm.
- Houston BBQ Throwdown at Saint Arnold Brewery | Sunday, September 16 – Come hungry to the fourth annual Houston BBQ Throwdown at Saint Arnold Brewery, which features a variety of smoked meats from the city’s top pitmasters. Participating restaurants include the 2017 Judge’s Choice co-winners Beaver’s Westheimer and El Burro & the Bull, as well as Blood Bros. BBQ, Buck’s Barbeque Co, Feges BBQ, Harlem Road Texas BBQ, The Pit Room, Tejas Chocolate + Barbecue, and Victorian’s Barbecue. Tickets start at $65. 1pm to 4pm.
- Houston Texans vs. New York Giants at NRG Stadium | Sunday, September 23 – Prepare to tailgate and cheer on the Houston Texans when they play the New York Giants in their first home game of the season at NRG. - Houston Astros vs. Los Angeles Angels at Minute Maid Park | Sunday, September 23 – Get loud for the Astros when they take the field to play the Los Angeles Angels in their final home game of the regular season, as well as Fan Appreciation Day, at Minute Maid Park. - Les Misérables at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts | Tuesday, September 25 to Sunday, September 30 – See the timeless, Tony-Award-winning musical, Les Misérables, when British theatrical producer Cameron Mackintosh brings his newly revamped production to Houston’s Hobby Center for the Performing Arts downtown. Tickets start at $35. Showtimes vary.
- Houston Dynamo vs. Philadelphia Union: US Open Cup Final | Wednesday, September 26 – Cheer on the Dynamo as they play the Philadelphia Union in a home game at BBVA Compass Stadium. Tickets start at $24, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 8pm.
- The Morning After, a Houston Press Brunch Event at Bayou City Event Center Pavilion | Saturday, September 29 – Eat your way through bottomless brunch samples from top eateries like Alice Blue, Max’s Wine Dive, and Blonde Biscotti, throughout the Houston Press’ third annual brunch event, The Morning After, at Bayou City Event Center Pavilion. Tickets start at $40. 11:30am to 2:30pm.
- Taylor Swift in Concert at NRG Stadium | Saturday, September 29 – Gather your fellow Swifties and flock to NRG Stadium as Taylor Swift returns to Houston on her Reputation tour at NRG Stadium. You’ll hear old favorites, as well as new hits like “Delicate,” “End Game” and “…Ready For It?” Tickets start at $162, but you may find better, cheaper, or hard-to-get seats on the TicketNetwork resale market. 7pm.
- Ms. Lauryn Hill in Concert at Smart Financial Centre | Saturday, September 29 – Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the award-winning and record-breaking album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, with a concert by Ms. Lauryn Hill herself at Smart Financial Centre in Sugar Land. - Drake & Migos in Concert at Toyota Center | Saturday, September 29, Sunday, September 30, and Tuesday, October 2 – Take a crack at the KiKi Challenge during a live show by the famed actor-turned-rapper and Houston-aficionado, Drake, when he performs at Toyota Center alongside “Walk It Talk It” collaborators Migos. - Houston Oktoberfest at The Water Works | Saturday, September 29 – Shout “Prost!” at this annual craft beer festival that brings the world-famous German celebration to Houston’s The Water Works. Along with plenty of beer and brats, you can partake in the annual Oktoberfest Olympiad, featuring games like stein-hoisting, brat-tossing, and barrel-rolling. Tickets start at $25. 11am to 6pm.
