- David Dondero, with Sergio Trevino at D&W Lounge | Monday, August 20 | No Cover – One of the most engaging singer-songwriters of the last couple decades stops by the East End for a free show, supported by local band Buxton’s frontman, Sergio Trevino. 7pm.
- Lyle Lovett and His Large Band in Concert at Hobby Center | Wednesday, August 22 – A future hall-of-famer, Lovett is one of the premier singer-songwriters of our time. Performing with his Large Band, Lovett brings his Texas-sized talents to the stage for an intimate Hobby Center set. Tickets range from $39.50 to $89.50, but you may find better or cheaper seats on the TicketNetwork resale marketplace. 8pm.
- Shakira in Concert at Toyota Center | Wednesday, August 22 – The make-up date has arrived after Shakira postponed her original Houston show in January to recover from vocal chord injury. Original tickets will be honored for the event and you can purchase new tickets from $50.50 to over $200. You may be able to find better or cheaper seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 7:30pm.
- Wild Moccasins, Buxton, and VODI in Concert at Warehouse Live | Thursday, August 23 – This all-ages show features some of Houston’s most beloved local bands. Wild Moccasins, fresh off their Look Together album release, headlines along with Buxton, playing cuts from their upcoming fall release, Stay Out Late. Tickets range from $25 to $250. Note that all proceeds go to the Beto O’Rourke campaign. 6pm.
- Tony Bennett in Concert with Antonia Bennett at Smart Financial Centre | Thursday, August 23 – The legendary musician, with 19 Grammys under his belt, arrives to Houston for a night filled with iconic songs such as “Steppin’ Out With My Baby” and “I Left My Heart in San Francisco”. Tickets range from $75.75 to $131.75, but you may find better or cheaper seats on the TicketNetwork online market. 8pm.
- Carolyn Wonderland in Concert, with Pike & Sutton at The Heights Theater | Thursday, August 23 – With a blues vocal style that calls back to the great Janis Joplin, Carolyn Wonderland delivers a powerful on-stage presence completed by her abilities as a multi-instrumentalist. She stops by The Heights Theater and you can see her captivating show with a ticket ranging from $20 to $30. 7pm.
- Wiz Khalifa & Rae Sremmurd in Concert, with Lil Skies, O.T. Genasis at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion | Thursday, August 23 – A huge double-headliner night hits the Woodlands with two culturally influential rap artists in Wiz Khalifa and Rae Sremmurd. The Dazed & Blazed Summer 2018 Tour promises to be a can’t-miss show for rap fans. Tickets range from $39 to $99.50, but you may find better or cheaper seats on the TicketNetwork online market. 6pm.
- Rudz 40th Anniversary, featuring Vodi, The Wheel Works, Jealous Creatures at Rudyard’s British Pub | Friday, August 24 | No Cover – This Montrose British Pub on Waugh enters its 40th year serving Houston and will be celebrating along with local musicians Vodi, The Wheel Workers, and Jealous Creatures. This show is free and open to adults ages 21 and older. 8pm.
- Pusha T at House of Blues | Saturday, August 25 – Since releasing Daytona in May of this year, Pusha T has continued to find success and critical acclaim for his third studio album. In support of his newest release, The Daytona Tour 2018 rolls through Downtown’s House of Blues. Tickets are $35, but you may find better or cheaper tickets on the TicketNetwork resale marketplace. 7pm.
- Buckcherry, P.O.D., LIT & Alien Ant Farm in Concert at Smart Financial Centre | Sunday, August 26 – Fans of early 2000s alt rock are in for a packed lineup on the Gen X Tour making its way to Sugar Land this Sunday. Each band on this bill has plenty of hits with lyrics that stick in your head, even after all these years. Tickets range from $29.50 to $59.50, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 7:30pm.
