Pixar Putt at Discovery Green | Daily – Round up your crew for a day or evening of fun, laughs, and photo ops at the outdoor Pixar-inspired putt putt golf pop-up in the heart of Downtown. The 18 holes are inspired by characters and stories from Pixar favorites like Inside Out 2, Toy Story, Cars, Monsters, Inc., Soul, The Incredibles, Luca, and more. The fun is for all ages, but during Pixar After Dark, starting at 7pm Thursday through Saturday, golfers must all be 18 or older. Up to $30 on weekends. Times vary

Comedian Ian Lara at Punch Line Houston | Thursday to Saturday – Named one of Variety’s 2023 “Comics to Watch” and appearances with Jimmy Fallon and his own HBO special, Lara takes over Downtown’s newest comedy stage for 4 shows over 3 nights. $27.65 and up. Times vary.

Houston Cinema Arts Festival Around Houston | Daily | Opens Thursday | Some FREE – H-Town’s yearly celebration of the silver screen returns to local venues, screening and premiering short and feature length films from Houston and around the world. Expect special guest panels, workshop opportunities, and more. Ends Sunday, November 17. Events are individually ticketed and sometimes free. $200 and up for all-access passes. Comedian Adam Ferrara at Sam Houston Race Park | Friday & Saturday – The actor and comic—known for hosting Top Gear US, his self-titled podcast, and roles in Rescue Me, Nurse Jackie, and Paul Blart: Mall Cop—takes to the SHRP stage for 2 nights. $23 and up. 7pm both nights. 

Rhythm Fest at Warehouse Live Midtown & Numbers Nightclub | Friday & Saturday – The nightlife destinations tag team two nights of live club hits, with Friday performances by Front 242, Man2Man, MicroChip League, Male Tears and Schicks AI in Midtown. On Saturday night, Nitzer Ebb headlines a lineup featuring Psyche, Tassel, and Robotiko Rejekto. $40 and up. 8pm both nights.

11th Annual Islamic Arts Festival at University of Houston Main Campus | Saturday & Sunday | FREE – The largest and oldest festival of Islamic arts in the U.S. moves from a suburban location to the heart of Houston for two days art shopping directly from 50 national artists, while enjoying live music, comedy, a film festival, interactive art sessions, ethnic foods for sale, live demonstrations on calligraphy, henna tattoos, ebru, painting, and a variety of children’s art activities. 10:30am to 5:30pm both days.

Comedian Joey Avery at The Riot Comedy Club | Saturday & Sunday – Known for quickly growing his online following with a mix of improvised standup and precise material, the comic seen on Comedy Central and Don’t Tell Comedy brings his act to Montrose for 3 sets. $25 and up. Times vary.

Andy Summers at House of Blues – The former guitarist with The Police, Summers lands on Downtown’s Music Hall stage, playing a mix of Police classics and his own solo hits. $35 to $45. 7pm.

Bonnie Raitt at The Hobby Center – Give them something to talk about when Raitt—known for her blend of blues, country, R&B, rock and pop—brings her Just Like That… tour to Sarofim Hall. $60.60 and up. 8pm.

Oysters, Brews & Blues at Goode Co. Armadillo Palace Revel in a night of live Texas blues by The Mighty Orq, chef-curated Gulf Coast classics, and all around good times under the stars in the Armadillo Palace’s backyard, while savoring coastal dishes cooked over mesquite wood—including smoked boudin links, Gulf redfish, freshly shucked mariculture oysters, and more. Proceeds support the Coastal Conservation Association. $100 includes food and 2 cocktails. 6pm to 9pm.

Mid Main Houston First Thursday Block Party in Midtown | Some FREE – Celebrate the dawn of a new month with drink specials, live music, DJs, and discounts from the cool kids in Mid Main. Enjoy the garden party for a $10 wristband for free Saint Arnold brews. 6pm to 10pm.

Iron Sommelier at the Post Oak Hotel – Join 14 of the city’s most prestigious sommeliers competing for the 2024 title, with wine tastings, people’s choice voting, a silent auction, and more. $250 and up, benefitting the Periwinkle Foundation. 6pm to 10pm.

Lexa Gates in Concert at House of Blues – Lexa Gates brings her mix of rap, hip hop, and alternative R&B stylings to the Peacock Lounge at the House of Blues Foundation Room on her Elite Vessel Tour. Jonah Love opens. $20. 7pm.

The Whisky X at Lone Star Flight Museum Sample from more than 60 premium whisky and whiskey brands and cocktails—the best of bourbon, American, Irish, Scotch, rye, single malt, and more. Plus, expect a cigar lounge, food truck village, and complimentary hair-and-beard trims. $75; $50 early bird; VIP options with early entry available. 7pm to 9pm.

Kany García in Concert at 713 Music Hall – The renowned Latin singer-songwriter from Puerto Rico—known for “Te Lo Agradezco”, “Confieso”, and “La Siguiente”—brings her García tour supporting her album of the same name to H-town. $40 and up. 8pm.

Mat Kearney in Concert at The Heights Theater – Oregon-born and Nashville-based, the pop musician known for “Breathe In Breathe Out”, “Ships in the Night”, and “Headlights Home” performs on the intimate Heights stage. Darren Kiely and his folk-infused pop sound opens the show. $52. 8pm.

Fall Opening Reception at Houston Contemporary Center of Craft | FREE – Hang out to celebrate the debut of Designing Motherhood and In Residence: 17th Edition at an evening also highlighted by resident HCCC artists’ open studios. Complimentary beer from Equal Parts Brewing. 6pm to 8pm. 

Dr. Feelgood Live Set, with Saltwater Boys at 8th Wonder | FREE – The Motley Crüe tribute band, Dr. Feelgood, perform a live show 8th Wonder’s WonderWorld stage. Saltwater Boys open the show. 6pm to 8pm.

Candlelight Concert: Vivaldi’s Four Seasons & More at Majestic Metro – Take in all four seasons of Vivaldi’s Violin Concerto in G Minor, along with other familiar classic pieces, like Piazzolla’s Libertango, by candlelight in the Downtown venue. $55. 6:30pm.

Rainbow Kitten Surprise in Concert at 713 Music Hall – The alt-rock indie band formed in Boone, North Carolina brings the Love Hate Music Box tour to the west Downtown stage. Alternative indie singer-songwriter Madi Diaz opens the show. $56 and up. 8pm.

Candlelight: A Tribute to Beyoncé at Majestic Metro – Soak in a live concert by Range Ensemble String Quartet who’ll be performing classic Queen B songs like “Survivor”, “Crazy in Love”, and “Hold Up” by the glow of candlelight next to Historic Market Square in Downtown. $57.50 and up. 8:45pm.

Local Natives in Concert at White Oak Music Hall Showcasing their 2024 album, But I’ll Wait for You, the companion and follow-up album for 2023’s Time Will Wait for No One, the indie rock outfit out of L.A performs on WOMH’s downstairs stage. $30 and up. 7pm.

The Fab Four: A Tribute to the Beatles at House of Blues – Travel back in time with this Emmy-winning group dedicated to covering captivating classics such as “Can’t Buy Me Love”, “Yesterday”, “A Day In The Life”, “Twist and Shout”, and more. $30 and up. 7pm.

Casey Donahew in Concert at Home Run Dugout – The Lone Star native, whose last four albums charted on the Billboard Country Top 10, including his latest, Never Not Love You., performs live at the Katy favorite. $35 and up; $20 parking per vehicle. 8pm.

Texas String Assembly & Sicard Hollow in Concert at The Continental Club – Texas String Assembly—an eight-piece band celebrated by The Austin Chronicle for blending elements of bluegrass, funk, jazz, folk-country, and hippie jugband music—are joined in a live Midtown show by Nashville’s psychedelic punk-grass rockers, Sicard Hollow. $10 advance; $15 day of show. 9pm.

Boys Noize at Bauhaus – The German electronic music record producer, songwriter, and DJ returns to Downtown Houston, bringing big rave vibes along for the ride. Starts at $30. 10pm to 2am.

DaCamera’s Stop, Look & Listen! Concert In Response to Tacita Dean: Blind Folly at The Menil | FREE – DaCamera Young Artists perform a one-hour, family-friendly concert inspired by the Menil’s recently debuted exhibition of works by British European visual artist, Tacita Dean. 3pm.

IgboFest Houston at Discovery Green | FREE – Experience lively West African traditional dances, music, a fashion parade, cultural presentations, and jollof rice at the IgboFest in Downtown. 3pm to 10pm.

Elements IV: Fire—Houston Temple Closing Ceremonial Burning with Lisa E. Harris & the Renegade Carnies | FREE with RSVP – Harris concludes her 4-part series set against the backdrop of David Best’s Houston Temple. The performance will conclude with the ritual burning of the temple structure, inspired by the destruction of the temporary structures at Nevada’s Burning Man. 6pm to 10pm.

Comedian Ali Siddiq at Smart Financial Centre The hilarious Houston native whose career has expanded to include appearances on Comedy Central’s This Is Not Happening and HBO’s Room 104 takes to the Sugar Land stage, much to the delight of his hometown Houston audience. $40 and up. 7pm.

Jean Dawson in Concert at House of Blues – The Mexican-American experimental pop artist comes to Houston in support of his third studio album, Glimmer Of God, with rapper, singer-songwriter, record producer Quadeca opening the show. $22.50. 7pm.

Third Eyeland Party: Raudiver, Summore & Secrecies in Concert at Galveston Island Brewing | FREE – Third Eyeland returns with an all ages evening of live music, spanning goth pop and darkwave to dark synth pop and Synth Pop Electronica. Doors at 7pm. Show 8pm.

Polaris in Concert at Axelrad Beer Garden | FREE – It’s a progressive pop kind of night with this multi-instrumentalist who has recorded and composed with artists like Adán Jodorowsky, Jay de la Cueva, and Emmanuel Horvilleur, among others. 8pm.

Chief Keef in Concert at 713 Music Hall – The rapper and record producer born and raised in Chicago’s South Side—known for his hits “Don’t Like.1”, “Love Sosa”, and “Faneto”—takes to the Post Houston stage. $35.25 and up. 8pm.

Bixby in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – The California-based, Vietnamese dance and electronic pop artists brings his first ever headlining tour to the upstairs stage. $20. 8pm.

Penny Cup at Houston Polo Club – Plan for a full day with this fall double header with two world class polo matches, with expert announcing, live music, a player parade, a Champagne divot stomp, and tasty food and drinks from The Lymbar. $18 and up. 2pm.

The Masterson Legacy: A Behind-the-Scenes Tour at Rienzi – Take in an exclusive look at areas of the house, not typically on view, as well as art from the Masterson Family, the original owners of Rienzi, now the MFAH’s decorative house museum in River Oaks. $5 and up. Tours at 2pm and 3pm. 

Selin x Deniz Love in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – Istanbul-born and U.K.-raised, multilingual singer-songwriter Selin is known for fusing cultures and languages. She’ll be joined on the Near Northside stage with alt-indie pop artist Denix Love. $15 and up. 7pm.

Houston Texans vs. Detroit Lions at NRG Stadium – It’s a Sunday Night Football kind of night as C.J. Stroud and Texans continue to build on their momentum on their home field. $185 and up, but you may find cheaper, better, or hard-to-get seats on the ticket resale market. 7:20pm.

Old 97’s, with Fastball in Concert at The Heights Theater – The alt-country band, self-described as “loud folk,” which originated out of Dallas is joined by Austin’s own rock and roll pop harmonic Fastball. $29.50. 8pm.
