Drunk Dracula at the Emerald Theatre | Monday, Wednesday & Thursday – One daring actor tackles the tale of Dracula… after downing five shots of whiskey, hilariously attempting to retell the classic tale of Transylvania’s thirstiest vampire. Meanwhile, savor drinks and craft cocktails delivered directly to your seat. $49 and up. 7pm.

TUTS: Little Shop of Horrors at the Hobby Center | Tuesday to Sunday – Based on the 1986 movie musica, the brand new production follows the story of Seymour, an unremarkable shop boy who discovers a rare and unusual plant that will bring him everything he’s ever wanted. But what will it cost him? With bouncy music and lyrics by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, it features songs like “Suddenly Seymour,” “Somewhere That’s Green” and “Skid Row.” $40 and up. Showtimes vary.

Meow Wolf Houston: Radio Tave Opening Weekend in Fifth Ward | Opens Thursday – The highly anticipated interactive, immersive art experience opens its Houston location near Saint Arnold Brewing Company. The space tells many interweaving stories of interdimensional exploration and the intersection of the supernatural and mundane at fictional radio station ETNL. $40 and up. Times vary.

Putt Loose Halloween at Holey Moley Golf Club | Daily – The new indoor mini golf funhouse in Greenway/ Upper Kirby is serving up tasty $12 Halloween cocktail specials for the spooky season. Meanwhile, kids can play for $10 and get a special trick or treat. Kids and families are welcome until 8pm. $14; $10 for ages 20 and under. Noon to 11pm.

Korean Film Fest at MFAH | Daily – One of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston’s most popular annual events will feature K-horror, a unique buddy comedy, sci-fi, the latest from prolific auteur Hong Sangsoo, and an appearance by Yang Dong-geun, a popular Korean actor and hip-hop artist. guest. Films are screened with English subtitles. $10. Times vary.

Potions & Elixirs at Bandista at the Four Seasons Hotel | Thursday to Saturday – Folks are invited to step behind the bookcase and get spirited at Bandista’s All Hallows Eve-themed experience. Dress up and enjoy specialty spooky cocktails served by vampire bartenders. Reservations are required. Times vary.

Lone Star Rally in Galveston | Thursday to Sunday – North America’s largest four-day motorcycle comes to the Island, bringing with it a weekend of vendors, music, demo rides, bike and car shows, and a host of other fun. $75 and up. Times vary.

Comedian Aida Rodriguez at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday & Saturday – The Riot welcomes the Afro-Latina comic, who has had comedy specials air on Netflix, HBO and Showtime, to the upstairs stage for 3 shows over 2 nights. $25 and up. Times vary.

Comedian Liza Treyger at Punch Line Houston | Friday & Saturday – NYC-based and Soviet Union-born comic, best known for her specials Glittercheese on Comedy Central and The Degenerates on Netflix, comes to Houston’s newest comedy stage in Downtown for 4 shows. $32.05 and up. Times vary.

Authentic Flamenco: El Yiyo at The George Theater | Friday to Sunday – The Royal Opera of Madrid presents the award-winning Spanish flamenco dancer El Yiyo, who’ll be joined by dancer Ainhoa Garrido and accompanied by a live band of Spanish musicians for a rhythmic, high energy show. $35 and up. Showtimes vary.

Shepherd School of Opera: Alcina at the Morrison Theater | Friday & Sunday – Students in the acclaimed opera program perform this work by Hande, telling the story of a powerful sorceress who lures men to her island to seduce them, only to turn them to stone and wild animals when she grows bored with them. $15 and up. Showtimes vary

Sando Pop Up at Money Cat | Saturday & Sunday Chef Sherman Yeung hosts his second Sando pop-up in celebration of National Sandwich Day. Guests can indulge in exclusive, Japanese-inspired Sandos, from the Money Cat Sando (chicken thigh katsu) and Egg Salad Sando to the Wagyu Sando (American wagyu, yuzu kosho aioli) and more. 11am to 4pm both days.

DaCamera: Chiaroscuro Quartet at The Menil Collection – The Russian-Swedish-French string quartet named after Renaissance painting technique—performing on violin, viola and cello—bring their fresh approach to Beethoven and Schubert to the heart of Houston’s home for curated art. $63.50. 7:30pm.

Gunna in Concert at 713 Music Hall – The Georgia rapper—best known for his hits “Drip Too Hard”, “Jump”, and “Fukumean”—lands on the Downtown stage on his Wun of Dem Nights tour. $76. 8pm.

Boogarins in Concert at Last Concert Cafe – The alternative Brazilian rock band lands on the outdoor stage at Downtown’s Warehouse District mainstay. Strange Lot and India Tigers In Texas open the show. $27. 7pm.

Gladys Knight at Smart Financial Centre – The Pipless 10-time Grammy-winning Knight will showcase her musical chops and hits honed over the course of her 60 year career, sure to include chart-topping hits like “Midnight Train to Georgia” and “That’s What Friends Are For.” $50. 8pm. 

Halloween Day, Thursday, October 31, 2024

Halloween at 8th Wonder | No Cover – Arrive in costume to take advantage of 25% off all to-go purchases of all taproom offerings, including beer, THC seltzers, gummies, tinctures, t-shirts, and hats. Stick around to enjoy the classic Houston environment and spooky spirit. Noon to 10pm.

Boo on the Bayou at Brenner’s on the Bayou | No Cover – The legendary steakhouse hosts a Halloween evening of fun, food and entertainment, followed by a lively party at the Blue Bar, with a DJ, cigar lounge, shared bites, a costume contest with prizes, and more. 5pm to 9:30pm.

Millennial Networking: Halloween Edition at Hilton Rooftop Bar 9 – Millennials can mingle with fellow Gen Yers, compete for the $1,000 prize in the costume contest, enjoy live DJ beats, food and drink, and a host of other Halloween fun. Limited space; reservations recommended. $30. 6pm to 9pm.

Frenchie & Friends Opening Night Party at Alliance Francaise de Houston | FREE – Join the party as French American street artist Sebastien “Mr.D 1987” Boileau debuts a show reimagining beloved European cartoon and comic characters in modern, mature settings. Show up dressed as your own favorite cartoon or comic characters. Exhibit on display through Saturday, December 14. 6pm to 10pm.

Rod Wave in Concert at Toyota Center – The hip hop, trap, R&B, and neo-soul star brings his Last Lap Tour to Downtown, with special guests Moneybagg Yo, Toosii, Lil Poppa, Dess Dior and Eelmatic in tow. $149 and up. 7pm.

Punch Party at Rienzi – Historical cocktails and Halloween-themed activities highlight a spooky evening at the MFAH’s house museum, serving up an 18th-century-inspired English punch—a blend of spirits, citrus, sugar and spices—with music on the patio and dramatic readings of classic ghostly literature by Main Street Theater actors. $65. 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

Noche de Brujas Halloween Party at Caracol – Chef Hugo Ortega’s Post Oak restaurant hosts a monster mash, with light bites passed, plus food and drink stations inside and on the patio, live DJ music, spooky decorations, a face painter, photo booth, and prizes for best costumes.  $85 included 4 drink tickets. 7pm to 11pm.  

Morrissey in Concert at 713 Music Hall – If he doesn’t cancel the show (a lifelong trend), the beloved ’80s and ’90s moody English alternative crooner, known for “Girlfriend in a Coma”, “Everyday is Like Sunday” and more, will grace the Post Houston stage inside Post Houston. $65 and up. 8:30pm.

Massacre on Main Street at Dome Nightclub | FREE – DJs Justo and Youngstreetz, along with emcee Kane, keep the tunes coming at the Downtown night spot. Reservations required. 9pm to 1am.

Swimwear Department’s Halloween Bash at Dan Electro’s Guitar Bar – H-Town’s own Swimwear Department headlines a Halloween show, with Austin punk band Big Bill opening the show and followed by a post-show dance party. $15. Doors at 8pm. 9pm to 2am.

Sip & Stroll at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center – Take a quiet sunset walk on the Arboretum trails, with a curated nature hike, plus two glasses of wine or Saint Arnold beer, and delicious cheese and charcuterie offerings from Graze HTX. $45. 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

Night Market at Asia Society Texas | Friday | FREE – The popular annual event returns to the Museum District, offering a host of family-friendly activities including a curated marketplace, games and cultural installations, an Otaku Alley highlighting all things manga, anime and cosplay, a carnival, performances, and more. Free to attend; $5 indoor activities. 6pm to 10pm.

Tori Kelly in Concert at House of Blues –  First gaining prominence on YouTube and in American Idol‘s 2010 season, singer-songwriter Tori Kelly brings her pop stylings—complete with lush influences from R&B, soul and gospel—to the Downtown music hall. $30 and up. 7pm.

Diwali Dinner at Pondicheri | Friday – Dig into a multi-course meal celebrating the Indian festival of lights at the crowd-pleasing Indian eatery in Upper Kirby. Expect a menu that includes everything from street foods to rich curries, showcasing the country’s dynamic flavors. Reservations strongly encouraged. $110 per person. 7pm.

Día de los Muertos: Day of the Dead Market at the National Museum of Funeral History | Friday – Sip, shop and stroll your way through the museum at a one-of-a-kind evening featuring over 40 vendors offering a mix of Hispanic Heritage, oddity, and artisan cottages. Expect drinks, costumes, face painting, and more. $25; $75 for VIP. 7pm to 10pm.

Día de los Muertos Fiesta at Ubre – The Post Oak eatery hosts a night filled with Chef Hugo Ortega’s vibrant Mexican street food, with interactive food and dessert stations, custom cocktails, beautifully decorated catrinas, face painting, mariachis, a DJ, festive decorations, a photo booth and more. $85 includes all food and 4 cocktails. 7pm to 11pm.

Calavera con Calavera at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – This original piece returns to Miller for the fifth year, portraying lives during the annual Day of the Dead tradition celebration at Hacienda Calvario. The story blends traditional Mexican songs, Folkloric dances, Aztec rituals, and plenty of surprises. 7:30pm.

Dayglow in Concert at Bayou Music Center – The indie band out of Austin with a frontman from Aledo, comes to H-Town in support of their self-titled fourth album released September, featuring singles like “Every Little Thing I Say I Do” and “Cocoon.” $46 and up. 8pm.

Becky G in Concert at 713 Music Hall – The Latin pop and hip hop star, who begun a career on YouTube in 2011, brings her Casa Gomez: Otro Capitulo tour to Post Houston. $55. 8pm.

Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe Concert at the Heights Theater – Denson has electrified audiences around the world for 25 years with his fusion of jazz, funk, blues and soul. He’s appeared in Coming To America and toured with The Allman Brothers, The Roots, Widespread Panic and more. $28 and up. 8pm.

Candlelight Concert: ’90s Unplugged at Lone Star Flight Museum – Time travel back to the 1990s by candlelight when the Listeso String Quartet performs a program of flashback tracks including Foo Fighters’ “Everlong”, No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak”. and The Cranberries’ “Zombie.” $60 and up. 9:15pm.

ROCO: Outspoken at the Church of St. John the Divine – The full 40-piece orchestra, led by Grammy-winning conductor JoAnn Falletta, performs two world premieres —Jonathan Leshnoff‘s No Grit No Pearl and Juan Pablo Contreras‘ Alma Monarca, which honors his family and the tradition of Día de los Muertos. Pay-What-You-Wish; $35 suggested. 5pm

Opening Reception: Homeland: Random Musings of a Native Son at Archway Gallery | FREE – Check out new paintings and mixed media works by Harold Joiner, based on his experiences growing up in New Mexico and traveling as an adult. 5pm to 8pm; talk at 6:30pm.

Día de los Muertos at Axelrad | FREE – Get in the spirit with mariachis and live music, lucha libre and a mercado. There will be a community altar in tribute to those we’ve lost. Under 21 welcome until 8pm. 5pm to 11pm.

Katy Sip N Stroll at the Ark – Sample from 300 wines and more than 30 restaurants while enjoying live music, photo opportunities, vendors selling artisan wares, and more. $75 and up. 6pm to 9pm.

Maria Becerra in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – Beginning her career on YouTube in 2019 and since nominated for 8 Latin Grammys, the Argentine singer-songwriter comes to Houston for a live concert at the downstairs stage. $44 and up. 7pm.

Spirits of the Night: A Tequila Celebration & Don Julio Tequila Dinner at Hilton Galveston Island Resort – Raise your glass to the Day of the Dead at a curated 4-course meal featuring vibrant Mexican cuisine, with each dish paired with premium Don Julio tequilas. $135. 7pm.

Candlelight Concert: From Bach to the Beatles at Lone Star Flight Museum – The Listeso String Quartet performs a 60-minute concert combining classical works by Johann Sebastian Bach with the Fab Four’s classic hits—including “Blackbird”, “Eleanor Rigby” and “Here Comes the Sun.” $60 and up. 7pm.

Comedian Dane Cook at Bayou Music Center – Known for his observational, sometimes vulgar comedy, Cook brings his Fresh New Flavor Tour to Downtown Houston. $54 and up. 7:30pm.

Pilobolus: reCreation at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Saturday | FREE – Closing out the Hermann Park venue’s 101st season, this dynamic collection of dance pieces—daring experiments and groundbreaking new collaborations—stand alongside classic works recognized for altering the landscape of dance and theater. 7:30pm.
