Stage Right: Puffs at The Crighton Theatre | Opens Friday | Ongoing – A charming Harry Potter parody on stage in Conroe follows a group of friends at a certain famous school for wizards who find themselves trying to survive school without becoming famous. Angry, Raucous & Shamelessly Gorgeous at Theatre Suburbia | Opens Friday | Ongoing – Pearl Cleage’s play follows an actress who created a firestorm—performing a series of August Wilson monologues from a woman’s perspective in the nude back in the 1990s. Now, a less-experienced actress is about to revive them at a theater festival, unleashing feelings of inadequacy and doubt. $20+. Times vary. Get tickets.

Houston Symphony: Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY XIV & XVI at Jones Hall | Saturday & Sunday – Legendary maestro Arnie Roth leads the Houston Symphony and Chorus in a program featuring the multi-player video games epic music, joined by original vocalist Amanda Achen. River Oaks Dance: Mary Poppins at The Hobby Center | Saturday & Sunday – Student dancers offer a performance based on P.L. On Saturday, Dirt Dogs Theatre Co’s Airline Highway takes off at the end of the runway at MATCH.
