- 42nd Annual Galveston Island Oktoberfest at First Lutheran Church of Galveston | Friday & Saturday | FREE – Marking the end of Greater Houston’s Oktoberfest season, Galveston’s family-friendly festival returns with two days of free entertainment, food, rides and games. Expect traditional German food and drink while taking in a slate of polka performers across both days. Friday 5pm to 9pm; Saturday 11am to 7pm.
- Comedian Matthew Broussard at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday & Saturday – With appearances on The Tonight Show, Conan, Jeff Ross Presents Roast Battle, Comedy Central Half Hour and series like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, under his belt, Broussard lands at the Montrose comedy stage for two nights. $25 and up. 7pm both nights.

- Haunted Galveston Tours, Destinations & More | Saturday, & Sunday – Historic Downtown Galveston always carries a bit of intrigue, giving a nod to the storied haunts and ghosts that reside there. But in October, the dial turns up as locals and visitors lean into the Halloween spirit with tours, experiences, and more. Favorites include Galveston Historical Foundation’s Haunted Harbor Boat Tours, Cemetery Tours, Haunted History Ghost Tours of the 1859 Ashton Villa. Times vary.
