- Octoberfest Japanese Style at Izakaya – Izakaya, a Japanese pub in Midtown, hosts its own version of Octoberfest Japanese style where they will be joining up with Hitachino Nest Beers, one of Japan’s major producers, to hoist nearly a dozen top Japanese beers. $35 per person. 5pm to 8pm.
- Stranger Things Trivia Night at Around the Corner | No Cover – Show off everything you know about the “upside down” before the 2nd season of Netflix’s Stranger Things begins at Around the Corner. 7pm to 10pm.
- It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Trivia at Under the Radar – Dress up like your favorite character from the show It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and head to Under the Radar brewery for a trivia night. 7pm to 10pm.
- Humming House in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – Nashville-based band Humming House performs at White Oak Music Hall with opener Becca Mancari. Tickets range from $12 to $16. 7pm to 11pm.
- 1, 2, 3 Minute Poetry Slam at Avant Garden Houston – Enjoy a poetry slam, a competitive event in which poets perform their work and are judged by members of the audience, featuring Edwin Bodney at Avant Garden in Montrose. Cover charge $5. 7:30pm to 10:30pm.
- Game of Thrones Trivia Night at Your Pie in Downtown – Every Wednesday in October, Your Pie on Main Street will be hosting a Game of Thrones trivia night. They’ll be serving up specialty Mystical GoT Neapolitan-style pizzas, giving away more than $50 in weekly prizes, and offering up $12.99 pizza and beer/wine specials for players ready to test their GoT knowledge and earn the trivia title of “Breaker of Chains”. - A Night in Havana at Prohibition Supperclub & Bar – This party is a spectacular night of live music, stunning dance and aerial performances, infused with the sultry air of Old Havana. - Houston Coming Out Party at Buffalo Soldier National Museum – OutReach United hosts a Coming Out party with a performance from the hilarious drag queen, Lady Bunny, open bars, DJs, a silent auction and more at the Buffalo Soldier National Museum. Tickets start at $35. 7pm to 10pm.
- New Orleans Bounce: Night Light Ride in 3rd Ward – 3rd Ward Tours hosts a bike ride where you can cruise the streets on their new Dutch bikes with LED lights while listening to New Orleans bounce music. Tickets are $10 if you have your own bike and $22 to rent one. 7pm to 9:30pm.
