- The French Farm’s Annual Holiday Open Warehouse Sale | Friday and Saturday | No Cover – Stock your kitchen for all of your holiday season get-togethers, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve at The French Farm’s Holiday Open Warehouse Sale. 10am to 3pm both days.
- 46th Annual Dickens on the Strand in Galveston | Friday to Sunday– Travel back in time as Galveston’s historic Strand is transformed into Charles Dickens’ Victorian London for this annual, family-friendly event. Gear up for parades, live entertainment on six stages, strolling carolers, roving musicians, bagpipers, jugglers, and a visit from the characters of Dickens’ books. Take advantage of special events within the event, including the Dickens Soiree, The Queen’s Feast, Saint Arnold’s Strand Walking Tour, and Dickens After Dark. Prices vary. Tickets at the gate are half-price for guests wearing Victorian-era attire. Times vary.
- Dickens on the Strand: Saint Arnold’s Strand Walking Tour | Friday to Sunday – Enjoy some of Saint Arnold Brewing Company’s signature ales while learning about The Strand’s most notable people, places, and stories from years gone by. Tickets cost $35 and include three complimentary beers. Registration is encouraged. Times vary.
- Art Factory presents The Wizard of Oz at the Docks | Friday to Sunday – Celebrate the 80th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz with Art Factory’s fresh take on the beloved film. Expect to hear some of the film’s original music, including “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “Ding! Dong! The Witch is Dead,” “We’re Off to See the Wizard,” “If I Were the King of the Forest” and more. Tickets are $25 (or five for $100), but limited discounted $12.50 tickets are available for select shows. Showtimes vary.
- 9th Annual Metal & Muscle Expo at George R. Brown Convention Center | Friday to Sunday – The 9th annual Metal & Muscle Expo features three full days of paralympic and other disabled sports clinics and team competitions. Competitions include wheelchair rugby, wheelchair basketball, power soccer, and sitting volleyball, while clinics are available for boccia, wheelchair and amputee tennis and running, ultimate frisbee, rowing and more. - Levy Park Holiday Festival | Saturday and Sunday | FREE – Entertain the family with holiday fun at Levy Park’s two-day annual festival, which features shopping, food and drinks, DIY crafting with Pop Shop America, live music, and a photo booth with Santa Paws and adoptable pets from the Houston Humane Society. - TUTS’ Elf – The Musical at Hobby Center for the Performing Arts | Saturday and Sunday – Follow the story of Buddy the Elf, who ventures from the North Pole to New York City to meet his long-lost, non-elf father as TUTS presents Elf – The Musical at Hobby Center. - First Thursday at Mid Main – Browse an art garden and market, listen to live music, and sip drinks from Deep Eddy Vodka and Saint Arnold Brewing Co during the monthly First Thursday celebration at Mid Main. Donations of $5 are suggested. 6pm.
- Miracle on 34th Street Movie Screening at Discovery Green | FREE – Bundle up and head to Discovery Green for a free, festive screening of the Christmastime classic, Miracle on 34th Street. 7pm to 10pm.

- 17th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Sugar Land Town Square | FREE – Watch in amazement as a towering 40-foot tree covered in Christmas lights is illuminated for the first time this holiday season at the seventeenth annual Christmas Tree Lighting in Sugar Land Town Square. Stick around after the ceremony for live entertainment, holiday refreshments, and an appearance by Santa. 5pm to 8pm.
- Historic East End Holiday Homes Tour in Galveston – Explore some of Galveston’s Victorian architecture in the East End Historical District for the 30th annual East End Holiday Homes Tour, which features five private homes decked out in festive décor. The event will also include refreshments and holiday music at the East End Historical District Association cottage. $25. 5:30pm to 9:30pm.
- Disney Junior Holiday Party On Tour at Smart Financial Centre – Treat the kids to a family-friendly evening of Disney fun with the Disney Junior Holiday Party at Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land. There, you can sing along to Disney Junior songs and holiday classics, then mingle with Disney friends like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, the Puppy Dog Pals, Vampirina, and even Santa Claus. Tickets start at $36.50, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 6pm.
- Holiday on 19th Street in the Heights | FREE – Enjoy free in-store cocktails, roaming carolers, and real snow as the shops on historic 19th Street open their doors for a special Friday evening of shopping and holiday cheer. 6pm to 10pm.
- A Dickens Soiree at the 1892 Bishop’s Palace – Live it up with live entertainment, indulgent eats, and plenty of booze at The Dickens Soiree in 1892 Bishop’s Palace—the first event of the three-day annual celebration, Dickens on the Strand.
