- Come and Take It Comedy Festival at The Secret Group | Thursday to Saturday – The annual multiple-day Come and Take It Comedy Festival returns to The Secret Group, with headlining performances by Andy Kindler, Dulce Sloan, Josh Wolf, Chingo Bling and more. Tickets for weekend passes are $69.69; VIP packages are available at $109.69. Showtimes vary.
- Grand Opening at Tikila’s | Friday and Saturday | No Cover – Celebrate the Grand Opening weekend of Tikila’s, a tequila-based tiki bar in the Heights, with drink specials, a photo booth, live entertainment and more. 6pm both days.
- 6th Annual Islamic Arts Festival at Masjid Al Salam | Saturday and Sunday | FREE – The largest and oldest festival of its kind in North America, the Islamic Arts Festival will feature more than 10,000 square feet of Islamic art created by more than 40 artists, along with works from emerging artists and students. The event attracts more than 5,000 people each year. 10:30am to 5:30pm both days.

- Singo Bingo at Cottonwood | No Cover – Play along for prizes at Cottonwood with a game that mixes “Name That Song” with bingo. 6:30pm.
- 4th Annual Big Bao Battle Food Competition at The Ballroom at Bayou Place – OCA-Greater Houston presents its fourth annual Big Bao Battle Chef Cook-Off Competition at the Ballroom at Bayou Place in Downtown’s Theater District. The fun and exciting evening of tasty food, refreshing drinks, and amazing Downtown views. More than 12 local chefs will throw down their own special version of a traditional Chinese steamed bao live. Tickets start at $35 for general admission. 6:30pm to 9pm.
- Board Game Night at Rudyard’s British Pub – Bring over your board games and grab a table at Rudyard’s large upstairs play space for their Wednesday Board Game Night. 6:30pm.
- Cat Clyde in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – Catch a set from the singer-songwriter Cat Clyde at White Oak Music Hall with support from Jeremie Albino. Tickets start at $12. 7pm.

- Houstonia’s 5th Annual Burger Bash at The Plaza at CityCentre – The 5th annual Burger Bash pits a dozen of the city’s top restaurants and chefs in a head-to-head battle for the Best Burger. Guests can enjoy sliders, drinks including beer from Saint Arnold Brewing Company and cocktails from Ketel One, Captain Morgan and Crown Royal, cars on display from Land Rover West Houston, live entertainment and a huge raffle benefiting Kids’ Meals, Inc. Tickets are $35 with two drink tickets; $17 for ages 12 to 20. 6pm to 9pm.
- First Thursday at Mid Main – Browse an art garden and market, listen to live music, and sip drinks from Deep Eddy Vodka and Saint Arnold Brewing Co. during the monthly First Thursday celebration at Mid Main. This month’s proceeds will benefit HISD. Suggested donation of $5. 6pm to 10pm.
- Bingo Night at Under the Radar Brewery | No Cover – Try your luck for a chance to win prizes in the beer garden at Under the Radar Brewery’s Bingo Night. There will be $4 happy hour pints preceding the event, from 4pm to 7pm. Bingo starts at 7pm.
- An Evening with Gloria Steinem at Congregation Emanu El – Hear from feminist icon Gloria Steinem when she heads to Houston in support of her October book release, The Truth Will Set You Free, But First It Will Piss You Off! Tickets are sold out at the venue, but you may find hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 7pm.
- Sleater-Kinney in Concert at The Heights Theatre – The legendary feminist rock band, Sleater-Kinney, hits the stage at The Heights Theatre in support of their latest album, The Center Won’t Hold. Tickets start at $32. 7pm.
- Stacks at Axelrad | No Cover – Axelrad beer garden in Midtown hosts an all-vinyl dance party featuring local DJs spinning disco, funk, hip hop and more, alongside local food trucks and vendors. 8pm.

- Night Market 2019 at Asia Society Center of Texas | FREE – Spend Friday evening at Asia Society Center of Texas’ annual Night Market, which offers after-hours access to two exhibitions; live music; a Japanese-style carnival; a curated selection of food, home goods, art, and apparel from local artisans; and a ticketed beer garden with tasty bites. 6pm to 10pm.
- Maná in Concert: Rayando El Sol Tour at Toyota Center – The most widely sold Latin band in the world, Maná, returns to Houston with the Rayando El Sol Tour, named after the band’s critically acclaimed single. Tickets start at $29.50, before ticketing fees, but you may also find better, cheaper, or hard-to-get seats on TicketNetwork’s resale market. 8pm.
- World of Dance Live! at Revention Music Center – Watch skilled dancers light up the stage of Revention Music Center when NBC’s hit dance competition series, World of Dance, tours in Houston. Tickets start at $35, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 8pm.
- Nothing Matters: Emo, Indie & Punk Dance Party at The Secret Group – The Secret Group presents a monthly emo, indie, and punk dance party, with DJ Robocops. The event happens on the second Friday of every month. Free before 11pm for ages 21 and up; $10 for ages 18 to 20. 9pm.
- Classic Numbers: Every Friday at Numbers Nightclub – Go back to the ’80s and hear hits from The Smiths, The Cure, Blondie and more every Friday night at the always eclectic, Numbers Nightclub in Montrose. Cover charge at the door. 9pm.

- Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival at NRG Park – For the second year in a row, the Houston-native rapper Travis Scott brings Astroworld Festival to his hometown at NRG Park. While the full music lineup is yet to be revealed, Travis is confirmed as the
festival’s headlining performers. General admission tickets start at $149. Noon. - Bellaire Arts & Crafts Festival at Evelyn’s Park | FREE – Shop for unique items with your friends and family at the City of Bellaire’s Arts & Craft Festival at Evelyn’s Park. Just in time for the holidays, the festival will feature vendors and exhibitors showcasing and selling original art, artisan wares, and custom-made goods. 11am to 5pm.
- Houston Filipino Street Festival 2019 at Constellation Field – The Filipino Young Professionals of Houston presents the Houston Filipino Street Festival at Constellation Field, showcasing the food, culture, heartwarming hospitality, and history of the Philippines. There will be vendors, live entertainment, food, family activity, music and more. Tickets are $12 in advance; $15 at the door; ages 7 and under are free. Noon to 7pm.
- Houston Grilled Cheese Festival at Midtown Park – Nosh on gourmet grilled cheese bites made by local chefs and participating restaurants at the Houston Grilled Cheese Festival at Midtown Park. Tickets start at $49. 12:30pm to 7:30pm.
- Kurt Vile & The Violators and Dinosaur Jr. in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – The singer-songwriter Kurt Vile co-headlines with indie-rock band Dinosaur Jr. at White Oak Music Hall. Tickets start at $35. 7pm.
- Legends of Hip Hop at NRG Arena – Some of the biggest names in rap come together for Legends of Hip Hop, a joint concert at NRG Arena. Expected performers include Scarface, 8 Ball & MJG, Bun B, Too Short, E-40, Mystikal, and DJ Quik. Tickets start at $59, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 8pm.
- Kiki Maroon’s Burly Q Lounge at House of Blues – Hosted by drag superstar Blackberri, Kiki Maroon’s one-of-a-kind burlesque and comedy “varie-tease” show returns to Downtown’s House of Blues. $25 to $45. 9pm.
- The Late Show: Bathtub Full of Gin at Prohibition Supperclub – Step into the Roaring ’20s, when skirts were short and booze was a secret pleasure. Bathtub Full of Gin is Terrible Enfant Theatre Company’s immersive dance party series, where evocative theatre performances combine with high-energy electro swing music. Tickets are $20 for standing; $35 for seated, but limited, discounted $10 standing tickets are available for most shows. 11:30pm.

- Foamhenge 2019 at Karbach Brewing Co. – Crank up the volume at Foamhenge 2019, which features a lineup of rock groups like Ace Frehley, Accept, High On Fire, Power Trip, Pat Travers Band, and Narcotic Wasteland. VIP tickets will get you an optimal view, indoor restrooms, three beers of your choice, access to special tappings, and a buffet meal by Karbach Restaurant + Patio. Tickets start at $28. 12:30pm.
- Harvest Cup at Houston Polo Club – Feel the thundering hooves of the thoroughbreds as they compete for the ball at the Harvest Cup at Houston Polo Club. Enjoy door prizes, a player parade at 2pm sharp, stomp divots at the halftime champagne divot stomp, live music, and expert announcing throughout the match. - Joe Walsh and Friends present VetsAid at Toyota Center – Jam out to a live show featuring sets by ZZ Top, Brad Paisley, Sheryl Crow, Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit, and Joe Walsh, all to benefit VetsAid, a non-profit veterans organization, at Downtown’s Toyota Center. Tickets start at $25. 5:30pm.
- Chelsea Wolfe in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – The goth and folk-rock singer-songwriter, Chelsea Wolfe, performs live at White Oak Music Hall for the “American Darkness Tour.” Ioanna Gika opens the show. Tickets are $22 in advance; $25 at the door. 7pm.
- RuPaul’s Drag Race Werq the World Tour at Wortham Theater Center – See the drag stars of RuPaul’s Drag Race strut their stuff in a live show at Wortham Theatre Centre. Tickets start at $52, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 8pm.
- Sunday Night Fever at The Flat | No Cover – Put on your dancing shoes when DJs Malcolm Bravo, En Funque, and DJ Sun play disco, house, funk and more on vinyl for Sunday Night Fever at The Flat. 9pm.
