- Houston Astros vs. New York Yankees at Minute Maid Park | Tuesday, May 1 – It’s dollar hot dog night at the ballpark on the second night of a four-game stretch against Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees. Last playoffs, the Astros put the Yankees away after a grueling seven games for a trip to the World Series – something the team from NYC is unlikely to forget. Tickets start at $25, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s online resale market. 7:10pm.
- Houston Dynamo vs. Los Angeles Galaxy at BBVA Compass Stadium | Saturday, May 5 – In a short time, the arrival of über-confident Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic has brought with it plenty of fanfare, eye-popping goals, and flashes of what made him famous in Barcelona, Paris, and at Manchester United. Now, he visits Houston with his new American team in a game that promises to dazzle. Tickets to this game are expected to approach a sell-out, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 7:30pm.
- Santo de Mayo 5K at Saint Arnold Brewery | Sunday, May 6 – The annual fun run for thirsty brew enthusiasts kicks off for another year with a 5K over Buffalo Bayou, into Downtown, and back. Registration for the event is $50 and includes access to the post-race party. Those who’d rather skip the race and go straight to the party can pay a fee of $25. 8:30am.
- Houston Dash vs. Portland Thorns FC at BBVA Compass Stadium | Wednesday, May 9 – The defending NWSL champions arrive in Houston for a mid-month matchup that is sure to provide a stiff test for the hometown heroes. Ex-Dash Andressinha and Meghan Klingenberg return to Houston along with USA midfielder Tobin Heath for a fun night of soccer. Tickets start at $19. 7pm.
- Toga Fun Run 5K/1K at Clear Lake Park | Saturday, May 12 – Presented by St. John the Theologian Greek Orthodox Church, this seventh annual fun run snakes crowds through the Clear Lake Forest subdivision, up to Nasa Parkway and back. Stick around for a post-race party at the annual Greek Festival. Pre-event registration is $25 for the Kids’ 1K and $35 for the 5K. 7am.
- Houston Astros vs. Cleveland Indians at Minute Maid Park | Friday, May 18 –Dark side and Light side mingle at Minute Maid as Star Wars Night returns. Fans are encouraged to dress up and interact with costumed characters roaming the ballpark, enjoy themed entertainment, and take in a post-game fireworks show. Tickets range from $20 to over $125, but you may find better or cheaper seats using the TicketNetwork resale market. 7:10pm.
- PurpleStride 5K at Houston Sports Park | Saturday, May 19 – Since its first walk in 2008, the PurpleStride 5K Walk/Run event has helped to boost awareness about pancreatic cancer across the nation, raising $87 million for research in that time. You can participate in the PurpleStride 2018 with Adult pre-event registration starting at $30 (untimed) and $35 (timed); youth registration is $15 (untimed) and $20 (timed). 7am.
- Houston Dash vs. Seattle Reign FC at BBVA Compass Stadium | Wednesday, May 23 – The other Pacific Northwest team drops into Houston at the end of the month, bringing along USWNT star midfielder Megan Rapinoe. Dash forward Kealia Ohai is easing back into play after suffering an ACL tear last season and should be good to go for this matchup. Tickets start at $19. 7pm.
- Houston Dynamo vs. New York City FC at BBVA Compass Stadium | Friday, May 25 – Led by the Spanish superstar, David Villa, the blue team from New York swings by after a roaring start to their season while Houston looks to jump-start their own season at home. Tickets range from $24 to $49, but you may find better or cheaper tickets using the TicketNetwork resale market. 8pm.
- Houston Astros vs. Boston Red Sox at Minute Maid Park | Thursday, May 31 – Last playoffs, the ‘Stros ended the Red Sox season early in their ALDS matchup. Now, Boston will try to avoid flashbacks when they visit H-Town in this first of a four-game homestand. Tickets range from $20 to over $175 for this ballgame, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 7:10pm.
