  • Comic Ali Siddiq at Houston Improv | Daily – Catch the Houston-based comic as he waxes hilariously on his observations of diverse racial, economic and cultural topics in six socially distanced shows. Tickets start at $40 for a table for two. Times vary.
  • Houston Ballet’s Nutcracker Sweets Virtual Film | Ends Friday – Catch the final days of Houston Ballet’s digital film celebrating all things Nutcracker, featuring an abridged version of Stanton Welch’s The Nutcracker from the ballet archives and fun new works set to popular Christmas carols. The program can be purchased and viewed anytime through Friday, January 8, 2021. $35.
  • Comedian Whitney Cummings at Houston Improv (Postponed) | Thursday to Saturday – Laugh through the weekend when Whitney Cummings—star of NBC series Whitney, and co-creator of the Emmy-nominated 2 Broke Girls—hits the stage at the Houston Improv for six socially distanced shows. These shows have been postponed. Please check with Houston Improv if you’ve already purchased tickets.
  • Houston Symphony presents In the Mood: A Big Band New Year at Jones Hall & Online | Friday to Sunday – Start 2021 on a swingin’ note with larger-than-life big band mainstays including “Take the ‘A’ Train,” “It Don’t Mean a Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing)” and more when the Houston Symphony and vocalist David Caceres perform a weekend of socially distanced concerts at Jones Hall, with a livestream option. $29; livestream tickets are $20. Showtimes vary.
  • Wonder Woman 1984 Movie Screening at Moonstruck Drive-In Cinema | Friday to Sunday – Restore peace to the Cold War anxiety America during a screening of Patty Jenkins’ action-packed 2020 film, Wonder Woman 1984 (PG-13), starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Pedro Pascal, and Kristen Wiig, at Moonstruck Drive-In Cinema in the East End. $30 per vehicle. 6:30pm daily.
  • Duo • Identity at Archway Gallery | Saturday & Sunday – Examine complementary three-dimensional figurines and the life-size two-dimensional pieces of Jiashan Land and Anthony Pablillano when Archway Gallery’s joint exhibit, Duo • Identity, about duality, contrast, and their shared interest in figurative art, makes its debut this Saturday. The exhibition is on view through Thursday, February 4, 2021. Times vary.
  • Bridal Extravaganza Show at George R. Brown Convention | Saturday & Sunday – Plan the perfect wedding at a socially distanced version of the popular wedding show in Downtown, featuring more than 325 vendors, 650 display showcases, seminars and more. $15, but 365 Houston readers can knock $2 each ticket with promo code 3652021. Times vary.
  • Artists on Site at Asia Society Texas | Daily – Watch the creative process evolve when Asia Society Texas Center provides four artists working studio spaces that the public can check out, all month long. Times vary.
  • Seismique Interactive Art Museum | Daily Wander into a tech-fueled, interactive, intergalactic-inspired art exhibition with 40 exhibits from national and local artists. Starts at $35; $28 for ages 12 and under. Times vary, closed Tuesdays.
  • Zoo Lights at Houston Zoo | Ends Sunday – Stroll through the Houston Zoo with hot chocolate in hand while you admire glimmering displays of more than two million Christmas lights at this annual must-see attraction, now in its closing days. $12.95 to $25.65; free for ages 1 and under. 5:30pm to 10:30pm daily; last entry 9:30pm.

  • All Access Art Market at Finn Hall Houston | No Cover – Shop for artwork from local creatives and artisans in the heart of Downtown at Finn Hall. 4pm to 10pm.
  • HTX Market at Walking Stick Brewing Company | No Cover – Keep cool at an in-person, evening market featuring plenty of local vendors and artisans at Walking Stick Brewing Company near Shady Acres. No cash will be accepted, credit card only. 5pm to 9pm.
  • Houston Rockets vs. Orlando Magic at Toyota Center Watch “Boogie” Cousins, John Wall and the Rockets take to the floor in Downtown to battle it out against the Orlando Magic. $15 to over $300, but you may find better or cheaper seats on the TicketNetwork marketplace. 7pm to 9pm.
  • Staehely Brothers in Concert at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck Get your live music fix when the Staehely Brothers bring their brand of rock and roll to the stage at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck in Upper Kirby. Tables are $120 for a table for four; and $180 for a table for six. A free livestream broadcast will also be viewable on YouTube and Facebook. 7pm.
  • Garden Grove: Tribute to Sublime in Concert at Warehouse Live Hear all your favorite hits including “What I Got” and “Wrong Way” from ’90s radio-rock band Sublime when Garden Grove headlines a tribute show at Warehouse Live. Just A Girl, a tribute to No Doubt, and Beautiful Disasters, a tribute to 311, will also open the show. Free for standing room tickets; $10 for seated tickets. 7:15pm.
  • Houston Grand Opera presents Sasha Cooke & Kirill Kuzmin on MarqueeTV Witness a magical evening of music when pianist and HGO Studio alumnus Kirill Kuzmin is joined by two-time Grammy Award-winning artist Sasha Cooke for a virtual recital that draws from her extensive repertoire and can be viewed on the MarqueeTV platform. After it debuts, the performance can be viewed through Sunday, February 7, 2021. 7:30pm.
  • Alamo House in Concert at Dan Electro’s Guitar Bar Catch a live set that blends pop, folk, bluegrass and more, when local five-piece Americana band, Alamo House, takes the stage at Dan Electro’s in the Heights. Half Brother and Heights open the show. $9. Doors at 7pm; show at 8pm.
  • Filth: A Stand Up Show at Rudyard’s British Pub Fall out of your chair laughing during an evening of uncensored comedy from local stand-up comedians where nobody is safe and even the crowd risks getting roasted by the two hosts. This show is not recommended if you are easily offended. $8 in advance; $10 at the door; $40 for a reserved table. 8pm.
