  • 9th Annual Rudolph Fun Run at CityCentre – Take your mark and get set for the 9th annual Rudolph Fun Run, where costumed athletes race through CityCentre, admiring all of the festive decor along the way. Following the race, you can snap pictures with Santa Claus and enjoy special treats. Registration starts at $20. 7:30am.
  • Jingle All the Way 5K, 10K & 1K in the Energy Corridor – Outpace the abominable snow monster during the third annual Jingle All The 5K, 10K, 1K at Addicks Park and Ride. The family-friendly race includes post-run refreshments and a special appearance from Santa. Registration starts at $44.75; Kids 1K registration is $19.75. 8am.
  • Christmas in the Park at George Ranch Historical Park  – Travel back in time to Christmas pasts to explore the historic decor and customs practiced between 1830 and 1930. You can snag a festive treat at the 1830 Prairie Home or visit Santa’s temporary workshop on the grounds of George Ranch Historical Park. The old-fashioned event is offered every Saturday in December leading up to Christmas, with special campfire celebrations on the 14th and 21st from 6pm to 9pm. Tickets start at $15. Campfire Christmas presale tickets cost $25; $15 for ages 4 through 12; and $20 for members and seniors. All prices increase by $5 at the gate. 9am to 5pm.
  • Breakfast with Santa at The Woodlands Resort Bring out the little ones to spend time with jolly old Saint Nick at the Breakfast with Santa event at The Woodlands Resort. Families and children are encouraged to bring an appetite and their very own wish list to give to Santa while enjoying a breakfast with a pastry selection, an omelet station, and much more. Tickets are $19.95 for kids ages 6 to 12; $38.95 for adults and free for kids under the age of 5. 9am to 1pm.
  • Jingle Tree: Cookies with Santa at Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land – Join Mayor Joe Zimmerman for the opening of Santa Land, where you can partake in holiday crafts, nosh on cookies and milk, and snap a photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Tickets are $10 for non-members with a purchase of admission for the exhibit halls; $5 for members. 10am to 1pm.
  • Holiday in the Park at Market Square Park | No Cover Shop local in the heart of Downtown at Holiday in the Park, which features local designed goods, holiday crafting, photo booths, live music, and mimosas all day long. 10am to 4pm.
  • 10th Annual Katy Old-Fashioned Christmas Festival in Historic Downtown Katy | FREE – Browse a holiday market offering produce, arts and crafts, antiques, clothing, accessories, jewelry, gifts, and handmade goodies at the tenth annual Katy Old-Fashioned Christmas Festival. While you shop, expect roaming carolers, food trucks, entertainment, a beer garden, pictures with Santa, and 50,000 pounds of snow to keep the kiddos entertained. 10am to 5pm.
  • Diva Drag Brunch: A Very Drag Christmas at House of Blues Jingle all the way over to the Drag Diva Brunch: A Very Drag Christmas at House of Blues in Downtown. Celebrate the holidays with performances from fierce drag queens, a fabulous brunch and cocktails. Tickets are $46. 10:30am.
  • Stearman Santa at Lone Star Flight Museum Watch in awe as Santa gives his reindeer some rest and arrives in Houston in a PT-17 Stearman at Lone Star Flight Museum. Guests can snap photos with Santa and the Stearman and take part in making candy airplanes, ornaments, and coloring pages. Included with general admission to the museum. 11am to 12:30pm.
  • Love & Make’s Bath Bomb Making Workshop in Rice Village Create your own luxurious, scented bath bomb at this DIY workshop, hosted by Love & Make in Rice Village. The family-friendly activity allows crafters to incorporate essential oils and experiment with fun colors. $55. Noon.
  • Slime Rodeo at NRG Center Get your hands dirty at Texas’ largest slime convention, Slime Rodeo, at NRG Center. There, you can attend meet-and-greets, watch demos, or compete in the first-ever “Slimey” awards and other contests. Tickets start at $20. Noon to 5pm.
  • Sweet Jamboree at Sugar Land Heritage Museum & Visitor Center | FREE Spread holiday cheer at the Sugar Land’s Sweet Jamboree celebration, a one-day event of family-friendly fun at the Sugar Land Heritage Museum and Visitor Center, featuring crafts, games, a musical performance of Disney’s Frozen Jr. and more. 2pm to 5pm.
  • Houston Rockets vs. Phoenix Suns at Toyota Center Cheer loud for the Rockets when they hit the court to play the Suns at Toyota Center. Tickets start at $15, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 7pm.
  • Dickens on the Strand: The Dickens Feast & Salute to the Queen at 1859 Ashton Villa Feast on a four-course meal and toast to the Queen at this evening event that’s part of Dickens on the Strand. Held in the 1859 Ashton Villa, The Dickens Feast and Salute to the Queen also includes a special reading of A Christmas Carol from Charles Dickens descendant, Ollie Dickens. Tickets are $125. 7pm to 10pm.
  • Kansas in Concert at Smart Financial Centre Jam out to your favorite tunes by Kansas when the rock group brings its anniversary tour, “Point of No Return” to Houston’s Smart Financial Centre. Tickets range from $44.50 to $124.50, but you may find better or cheaper seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 7:30pm.
  • Jonathan Van Ness: Road to Beijing at Revention Music Center Queer Eye’s resident grooming expert, Jonathan Van Ness, brings his hilarious “Road to Beijing” tour to Houston for one night at Revention Music Center. Tickets range from $45 to over $169, but you may find better or cheaper seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 8pm.
  • Dickens After Dark at Galveston Arts CenterScore access to a curated evening of art, music, and entertainment at Dickens After Dark in the Galveston Arts Center. Expect unique performances and plenty of drinks at the evening event. $50. 8pm to 10pm.
