- Themed Dance Nights at Barbarella | Wednesday through Saturday – Depending on the night you attend, you can get down to soulful Motown during Gritz ‘N Gravy, the hippest current tracks with New Noise, or even some throwbacks during their ’90s Night. Be sure to check their Facebook page for the themes each night, as they often change. Cover ranges between $1 to $10. Wednesday to Saturday 9:30pm to 3am.
- Houston African Arts Festival at Jones Plaza | Saturday and Sunday | FREE to Attend – Celebrate African culture with live performances, authentic African cuisine, games, raffles, and an African fashion parade. 11am to 8pm.

- Glow Paint & Sip Party at Dionisio Winery – Join the Dionisio Winery in Pearland for a night of award-winning premium wine and glow paint. Tickets are $45. 7pm.
- Shedding Light at Aurora Picture Show – In conjunction with the exhibition of Andy Warhol’s film, Sunset, Aurora Picture Show and The Menil Collection co-present this program featuring a selection of rarely-seen historic and contemporary short films that focus on the sun, light, color, reflection, refraction, and horizons. This event is free to attend, but RSVP is recommended. 7:30pm.
- Peelander-Z in Concert at Fitzgerald’s – Get weird with the Japanese action comic punk band Peelander-Z in concert at Fitzgerald’s in the Heights. Tickets range from $10 to $15, not including ticket fees. 8pm.
- Lip Sync Battle at Baker Street Pub | FREE to Attend – Bring your A-game, props, and costumes to Baker St. Pub and Grill when they host a six-week Lip Sync Battle featuring a grand prize of $1000 cash. Registration is required to compete. 9pm.

- The Bronze Gold Speakeasy at Prohibition Supperclub & Bar – Party like it’s 1929 at The Bronze Gold Speakeasy, an immersive band and show experience. Dress in your finest Prohibition-era attire for the hottest ticket in town and be a part of the speakeasy scene as a six-piece band, an accomplished aerial artist, a master juggler, and a guest comedian dazzle you like it’s the Roaring ’20s. - Pop-Up Performance: Models for Movement with Chapman Dance at CAMH | FREE to Attend – “Models for Movement” is a multi-generational, reflective dance project developed in collaboration with Fonteno Senior Education Center, the University of Houston Dance Ensemble, and Chapman Dance, with the support of the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston. Movement themes for this preview performance are inspired by the work of artist Jae Ko and her current site-specific installation “flow 流” in CAMH’s Zilkha Gallery. 1:30pm to 1:50pm.
- Viva el Tequila Festival at Cadillac Bar – Tequila-lovers unite for the 1st Annual Viva el Tequila fest featuring tequila, beer, and signature cocktails from the likes of Patrón, Don Julio, Avión, Maestro Dobel, Titanium, Pura Vida, and more. - Brazilian Independence Day Celebration at Capitol Bar – The Brazilian Foundation, with the support of the Consulate General of Brazil in Houston, presents Brazilian Independence Day Celebration at Capitol Bar. - Opening Reception: The Bayou Botanist at the Silos on Sawyer | FREE to Attend – In the exhibition The Bayou Botanist: 365 Days in Houston’s Gardens, Celan Bouillet explores the relationship with Houston’s green spaces through a series of large-scale paintings and mixed media works on paper. - RuPaul’s Drag Race stars Chi Chi DeVayne & Kennedy Davenport at South Beach – Drag queen superstars Chi Chi DeVayne and Kennedy Davenport will storm the stage at the LGBT club South Beach for a show-stopping performance with an encore after midnight. After their performances, they will participate in a meet and greet with a photo shoot included. Cover is $15 after 10pm. 9pm.

- Lisa Chow’s Watercolors 101 Workshop at Myth & Symbol – Join local Houston artist, Lisa Chow at Myth and Symbol for a beginner’s water coloring class. Learn the fundamentals of watercolor supplies, basic wet/wet vs. wet/dry technique, blending “ombre” effects and playing with different watercolor mediums. Lisa will also demonstrate 2 to 3 hands-on painting projects for you to take home. Cost of the class is $45. 3pm to 5pm.
- Cyndi Lauper in Concert at Revention Music Center – Hear hits like “Time After Time” and “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” when ’80s icon Cyndi Lauper hits the stage at the Revention Music Center. Tickets start at $60, not including ticket fees. 8pm.
- Marvel vs DC Costume Tribute Party at Continental Club – After hitting up the Amazing Houston Comic Con, head on over to The Continental Club in Midtown in your Marvel or DC comics costume for performances and a live DJ.
