- Holiday Events Around Houston | Daily – From light displays to shopping markets, theatrical performances, skating rinks, and home tours, there’s something for “kids from 1 to 92”.
- Tamale Festival Houston at Navigation Esplanade | Saturday, December 2 – Kick off tamale season with a tamale eating contest, live music, festival eats, Tex-Mex favorites, and lots of tamales at Navigation Esplanade.
- The Houston Pancakes & Booze Art Show at Warehouse Live | Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3 – Check out works from more than 120 artists while listening to live DJs, watching live body painting, and making a couple of trips to the pancake bar at the Pancakes and Booze Art Show.
- HOU-ATX BBQ Throwdown at Saint Arnold Brewery | Sunday, December 3 – See if Austin or Houston has the best BBQ at this throwdown between some of the best joints from Austin, including Brotherton’s Black Iron Barbecue and Valentina’s Tex Mex BBQ, and Houston including Gatlin’s, Killen’s, and the Pit Room. A panel of judges will crown a winner, but you’ll have a say in who wins people’s choice.
- Lady Gaga in Concert at Toyota Center | Sunday, December 3 – Superstar Lady Gaga is bringing her World Tour to Houston for a performance at Toyota Center promoting her album Joanne. Tickets start at $46, but you may find cheaper or better seats on SeatsForEveryone’s online resale market.
- Houston Margarita Festival at Buffalo Bayou Park | Saturday, December 9 – Sip, shoot, and mix tequila at this boozy event at The Water Works featuring an extensive selection of margaritas from local restaurants, bars, and mixologists. Tickets are $20, but you may find limited discounted tickets for $10.
- Lights in Heights in the Woodland Heights | Saturday, December 9 – Flock to Woodland Heights to marvel at the holiday decorations and bright lights, and enjoy performances from residents’ front porches while soaking in the spirit of the season. Although the streets are public, the homes are private, so be sure to respect the properties and their owners.
- Houston Rockets vs. San Antonio Spurs at Toyota Center | Friday, December 15 – The Spurs and Rockets will battle it out on the court in this Texas matchup at Toyota Center. Tickets start around $42 but you might be able to find better tickets using the TicketNetwork resale market.
- Day for Night Festival at Barbara Jordan Post Office | Friday, December 15 to Sunday, December 17 – Experience performances from more than 90 musical and visual artists including Solange, Nine Inch Nails, Pretty Lights, The Mill, and Ryoji Ikeda at this mixed bag of a festival celebrating light and sound in Downtown Houston. Tickets start at $105, but you can probably find cheaper, better, or hard-to-get tickets on the TicketNetwork resale market.
- Hanukkah Events Around Houston | Through Wednesday, December 20 – Load up on chocolate gelt, latkes, and other holiday favorites while lighting the menorah and enjoying music, live entertainment, crafts, and other activities throughout Hanukkah in Houston.
- Academy Sports & Outdoors Texas Bowl at NRG Stadium | Wednesday, December 27 – The Big 12 and SEC will go head-to-head in this Texas-sized bowl game at NRG. Tickets start at $35, but you may secure cheaper, hard-to-find seats on the TicketNetwork resale market. 8pm.
- Club America vs. Toluca at BBVA Compass Stadium | Saturday, December 30 – Two professional soccer clubs from Mexico, Club America, and Toluca, will battle it out on the field of BBVA Compass Stadium. Tickets start at $35 but you may find better tickets on the TicketNetwork online marketplace.
- New Year’s Eve Celebrations Around Houston | Sunday, December 31 – Raise a glass to 2018 with friends and loved ones at an all-night party, pub crawl, or special dinner this New Year’s Eve.
- Light Displays and Christmas Events Around Houston | Through Sunday, December 31 – Gaze at millions of lights, dream of sugar plums, kiss under the mistletoe, and sing along to your favorite carols at a concert at these Christmas events around Houston.
- Holiday Performances Around Houston | Through Sunday, December 31 – Get into the spirit at one of these cheerful plays, concerts, or performances at theaters and venues around Houston.
