- L’Italiana in Algeri at The MATCH | Friday, August 18 and Saturday, August 19 – Experience the opera L’Italiana in Algeri in an intimate setting at The MATCH when Operativo Houston performs a new take on this piece from Rossini. Tickets are $27. 7:30pm both nights.
- The Houston Food Fest at Hermann Square | Saturday, August 19 – Head Downtown to sample food from more than 50 local vendors and jam to live music from acts like Soul Creatures and Ruben Moreno & Zydeco Re-evolution at The Houston Food Fest. Tickets start at $5. Noon to 10pm.
- Houston Texans vs. New England Patriots at NRG Stadium | Saturday, August 19 – The Texans will play their first home preseason game against the champs of Super Bowl LI, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots at NRG. - Betty Who in Concert at White Oak Music Hall | Saturday, August 19 – See Betty Who perform live with opening acts Geographer and Jackson Harris at White Oak Music Hall on the Near Northside. Tickets start at $20. 8pm.
- Flea at Silver Street | Saturday and Sunday – Shop at the Summer Flea at Silver Street, an upscale flea market featuring an eclectic mix of vintage, handmade, original design, jewelry, art, home decor, and local foods. Tickets are $5 and kids 12 and under get in free. 10am to 6pm each day.
- Heights Bike Trail Brewery Tour | Sunday, August 20 – Pedal along the Heights Bike Trail and visit Eureka Heights, Holler, and Platypus Breweries in any order for this brewery tour. Sample specially hopped brews and receive stamps that can be redeemed for a Heights brewery branded water bottle. There’s no purchase necessary for a stamp, but let’s face it, after biking all afternoon, a cold beer wouldn’t hurt. Noon to 8pm.
