  • Houston Astros vs. Toronto Blue Jays at Minute Maid Park | Monday, April 17 to Wednesday, April 19 – The champs welcome a familiar face back to the juice box as George Springer and his Toronto Blue Jays head into town for a three-game series. Even more, all fans in attendance at the Wednesday game will receive a Chas McCormick World Series replica ring. $15 and up. 7:10pm.
  • Grown Up Storytime at Continental Club | Tuesday, April 18 – Head to Continental in Mid-Main for this month’s edition of local storytellers that offer true, funny, bizarre, and tear-jerking tales. $8. 8pm.
  • Houston Dash vs. Kansas City Current at Shell Energy Stadium | Wednesday, April 19 – The Dash take to the pitch on a weeknight to face off against Kansas City in the first matchday of the NWSL Challenge Cup group stage. $7 and up. 6:30pm.
  • HoneySuckle’s 420 Flower Hour at Railway Heights Market | Thursday, April 20 – The hemp retail shop at Railway Heights Market hosts a holiday event in the outdoor beer garden, featuring local comedians, live DJ on the decks and a paint session. Sip on specialty canna cocktails while you shop from more than 20 vendors offering sweets, jewelry, apparel, happy goodies and more. 21+ only. $15 with optional activations available. 4:20pm to 9pm.
  • 420 Party & Distillery Anniversary at 8th Wonder Distillery & Cannabis | Thursday, April 20 | No Cover – Celebrate the 5th anniversary of 8th Wonder’s Distillery with a 420 bash featuring special Delta-8 cocktails, discounted Wonder Waters, live music from Blossom Aloe with Telecina, and delicious barbeque and hot dogs. 4:20pm to 11pm.
  • 21st Annual FeatherFest Birding & Nature Photography Festival in Galveston | Thursday, April 20 to Sunday, April 23 – For amateur and seasoned birding enthusiasts alike, this multi-day event leads birders through various coastal communities to see native and migratory birds throughout the Galveston region. Saturday and Sunday also include a series of kid-friendly activities throughout the Island (times and prices vary; some free). Registration is $25; activities are a separate cost. Times vary.
  • The Philly Soul Sound at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Friday, April 21 | FREE – An annual favorite concert, Miller welcomes again Community Music Center of Houston for their Philly Soul session during Miller’s centennial season. Hear classic soul sounds of the O’Jays, the Spinners, Teddy Pendergrass, and others. 8:15pm.
  • The Derailers, with The Broken Spokes in Concert at Dan Electro’s | Friday, April 21 | No Cover – The Heights guitar bar welcomes Texas county music outfits the Derailers and the Broken Spokes for a two-part concert in the laid-back digs of Dan Electro’s. 8:45pm.
  • Midtown Art in the Park at Baldwin Park | Friday, April 21 & Saturday, April 22 | FREE – Stop by Midtown Houston for back-to-back days of art celebration at this family-friendly event with local vendors, performers, and limited ArtJam activities where you’ll craft and take home Astros wreaths, a Mother’s Day piñata, and more. Friday 5pm to 10pm; Saturday 10am to 4pm.
  • Taylor Swift in Concert at NRG Stadium | Friday, April 21 to Sunday, April 23 – Spend the weekend with the 11-time Grammy winner and best-selling pop icon, Taylor Swift. Tickets are sold out, but you may find hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 6:30pm.
  • 2023 Houston Oyster Festival at the Water Works in Buffalo Bayou Park | Saturday, April 22 The Galveston Bay Foundation hosts this annual event, featuring more than 15 Houston restaurants, each offering up dishes where the oyster is the star. There’s also music, cocktails, exhibits and more. $35 and up. 11:30am to 2:30pm.
  • Earth Day Celebration & Water Works Festival at Discovery Green | Saturday, April 22 | FREE – One of Discovery Green’s signature events, the annual family-friendly festival returns with a full afternoon of interactive exhibits and educational experiences, plus live music, art installations, face painting, crafts and activities. Noon to 5pm.
  • Lucille’s Prince Week at the Eldorado Ballroom | Saturday, April 22 | Some FREE – The Southern dining destination Lucille’s returns with this 7th annual event, held at the historic Eldorado Ballroom in Third Ward. From 1pm to 6pm, shop a community market while celebrating the iconic Prince with special cocktails, local food trucks and more (no tickets required). Then, from 8pm to midnight, take in a tribute concert of Prince hits, and an afterparty with DJ Flash Gordon Parks in the legendary ballroom. Free for the day events; $35 and up for the after-party. 1pm to midnight.
  • Book Arts of Houston Opening Reception at the Printing Museum | Saturday, April 22 | FREE Welcome the return of the Printing Museum at their new Midtown location with this opening reception that showcases Houston artists working in the book arts medium, with additional selections from CAMH and MFAH. 4pm to 6pm.
  • Earth Sun Day at Post Houston | Sunday, April 23 | FREE – Celebrating Earth Day, the Downtown hotspot hosts an all-day festival with a vintage market, BMX stunt performers, and a vibrant artist installation that comes alive at night to cap off the festivities. Noon to 10pm.
  • Houston LatinFest at Crown Festival Park | Sunday, April 23 – Moving from its usual location in Downtown to Sugar Land, this annual music and culture festival is a family-friendly gathering with live Latin music along with local vendors and delicious Latin foods. $12 and up; free for ages 12 and under. 1pm to 10pm.
