Top 10 Things to Do with Kids This Week in Houston

  • Alamo Kids Camp: The Neverending Story Movie Screening at Alamo Drafthouse Mason Park | Monday, June 4 to Thursday, June 7 – Bring the kids to immerse themselves in the world of Fantasia when the Alamo Drafthouse hosts their kids camp screening of The Neverending Story. Tickets are $3. There will be a screening at noon every day.
  • Circus Arts at Discovery Green | Tuesday, June 5 | FREE – Circus Arts is a class that consists of ground arts and ground acrobatics such as contortion/flexibility, low tight wire, partner acrobatics, juggling, and hand balancing. Must be 13 and up for class. 6pm to 8pm.
  • Children’s Performance: Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Wednesday, June 6 to Friday, June 8 | FREE – Enjoy a children’s performance of Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, a story is based on the “coat of many colors” story of Joseph from the Bible’s Book of Genesis, at Miller Outdoor Theatre. 11am each day.
  • Children’s Bingo Night at Levy Park | Wednesday, June 6 | FREE – Bring the kids to play a 30-minute outdoor game of bingo at Levy Park. 4:30pm.
  • Summer Bonus Open Studio Series at CAMH | Thursday, June 7 | FREE – The Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston hosts their Summer Open Studios, a drop-in workshop with hands-on activities related to current exhibitions for creatives of all ages. Each Thursday will be a different theme. 2pm.
  • Sensory Friendly Evening at Space Center Houston | Thursday, June 7 – Space Center Houston invites people of all ages diagnosed with conditions such as, but not limited to, autism spectrum disorder and sensory processing disorder, to explore science and space exploration in a reduced sensory environment. Tickets are $15.95 and children 3 years and younger get in free. 6pm to 9pm.
  • World Ocean Day Celebration at Downtown Aquarium | Friday, June 8 – Celebrate and honor the ocean and have a fun-filled day of activities for the whole family at the Downtown Aquarium. Activities will include scavenger hunts, arts & crafts, animal feedings, dive shows and more. Free with general admission to the aquarium. 10am to 4pm.
  • Alice in Wonderland Movie Screening at Kings Harbor | Friday, June 8 | FREE – Sit back with the kids and enjoy a screening of Alice in Wonderland under the stars at Kings Harbor in Kingwood. 8:30pm.
  • Young Writers Workshop at Discovery Green | Saturday, June 9 | FREE – Writers in the Schools and the Houston Public Library Express offer a free writing workshop for students in 2nd through 8th grade at Discovery Green park. Limited to 25 students per workshop. 10:30am to 11:30am.
  • Wonderland Family Playhouse in Downtown | Saturday, June 9 – Brought to you by Playhouse on the Prairie, in collaboration with Conservatory and Prohibition Theatre, this family event includes kids activities at Conservatory from 11am to 3pm and a production of Alice! at Prohibition Theatre at noon. Tickets are $20 for the play. 11am.
