- The Snow Queen at A.D. Players Theater | Wednesday, March 9 through Saturday, March 13 – See Hans Christian Anderson’s original tale that inspired Disney’s Frozen, featuring shy young Gerta as she ventures off to save her best friend who has been kidnapped by the frigid Snow Queen. $12; limited discounted $6 tickets available for select shows. 10:30am.
- 44th Annual Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta | Saturday, March 12 | FREE to attend – Ages 12 and up are welcome to participate in this annual March tradition, or you can simply take your family to the shores of Buffalo Bayou and cheer on the racers. There will be a free afterparty with music and treats in Sesquicentennial Park in Downtown, where the regatta ends. 9am to 2am.
- Easter-ween Car Show & Festival at the National Museum of Funeral History | Saturday, March 12 – Postponed from its normal October date last fall due to rains, the annual Halloween Car Show returns with some springtime additions, including an egg hunt. $3 for individuals; $5 for couples and families. 10am to 3pm.
- 57th Annual Houston St. Patrick’s Parade in Downtown | Saturday, March 12 | FREE – Don your Irish green and get in some practice for St. Patrick’s as the beloved annual parade once again traipses through Downtown. Noon to 2pm.
- Spring Break Kick-Off Party at Brazos Bookstore | Saturday, March 12 | FREE – Enjoy the storytime and pick up your passport to get stamped all around Houston over the school break. Story time at 10:30am, party at 11am.
- 2nd Saturday Nites: St. Patrick’s Day at Historic Market Square | Saturday, March 12 | FREE – Take in a free performance of Irish Stout rock band the Blaggards in Market Square Park. 7pm to 9pm.
- Disney’s Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Screening at Sugar Land Town Square | Saturday, March 12 | FREE – After wacky inventor Wayne Szalinski’s machine accidentally shrinks four kids to a quarter-inch tall, they must travel through the jungle of their backyard in hopes of being restored. 7:30pm.
- Junie B. Jones The Musical at Main Street Theater | Sunday, March 13 – Watch as Barbara Park’s best-selling books come to life on the MATCH stage, in a professional production designed just for the kid set. Tickets start at $16. 1pm and 4pm.
