- Orquesta Akokan at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Tuesday, July 2 | FREE – An assembly of Cuba’s finest players from a wide range of ages, Orquesta Akokan offers a deeply soulful mambo that serves as a throwback to the 1940s and ’50s. This concert is free and open to the public. Covered seating requires a free ticket that can be picked up at the box office. 8:30pm.
- Chicago at Smart Financial Centre | Wednesday, July 3 – One of the best-selling rock groups of all time, this Hall of Fame band returns to Houston for a legendary night of their hits spanning across six decades. Tickets range from $79.50 to $125, but you may find better or cheaper seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 8pm.
- Rick Ross at Clé Houston | Independence Day, Thursday, July 4 – Celebrate Independence Day with the Grammy-nominated rapper, Rick Ross, as he splashes down at Clé Houston’s July 4th pool party. Tickets are $30. 2pm to 8pm.
- Pat Green in Concert: 4th Fest at Valley Ranch – Join your friends and family at Valley Ranch for a festive celebration of our country’s independence. Fourth Fest will feature a country music concert headlined by the Grammy award-winning artist, Pat Green, as well as a BBQ cook-off, fireworks show, cirque acts, and family-friendly activities. Tickets are $25; kids under 12 get in free. 2pm to 10pm.
- Freedom Over Texas at Eleanor Tinsley Park – Ooh and ahh at a dazzling fireworks display and listen to a full lineup of live music as CITGO presents Freedom Over Texas in Eleanor Tinsley Park. Tickets are $8 in advance until Wednesday, July 3, $10 at the gate; children 5 and under are free with paid adult. 4pm to 10pm.
- Steve Earle and The Dukes, with The Mastersons at The Heights Theater | Friday, July 5 – The hailed singer-songwriter arrives in town to play cuts from his March 2019 release, Guy, a tribute album to the work of the late music legend and personal friend, Guy Clark. Tickets range from $34 to $78. 8pm.
- Cuco, with Triathalon, Victor Internet at White Oak Music Hall | Friday, July 5 – The LA-based Chicano producer brings a fresh take on dream pop with Spanglish love lyrics and a chill aesthetic. Tickets are in high demand, but you may find better, cheaper, or hard-to-get seat using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 8pm.
- Betraying the Martyrs, with Entheos, Within Destruction, Sentinels, Defying Decay at White Oak Music Hall | Friday, July 5 – The Parisian metalcore group lands stateside for a tour in support of their fourth studio album, Rapture. Tickets are $13 in advance; $15 day of the show. 6pm.
- Ne-Yo, with Tamia at Arena Theatre | Friday, July 5 – The Grammy-winning R&B singer returns to Houston following his 2018 release, Good Man, which capped his twentieth year of making music. - Santana, with The Doobie Brothers at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion | Sunday, July 7 – The iconic Mexican guitarist returns with his twenty-fifth studio album, Africa Speaks, released in early June.
