  • Navigating the Waves: Contemporary Cuban Photography Opening Day Talk at MFAH – Hear from the exhibits curators who’ll talk about the evolution of photography in Cuba from the 1960s to 2010s, from its role in promoting the Cuban Revolution after Fidel Castro’s 1959 overthrew the Batista government to social and political critique after the Soviet Union’s collapse. Included with general admission; $24; $20 for ages 13 to 18 and 65+; free ages 12 and under. 11am.
  • Bellaire Open Air Fall Market at Evelyn’s Park | FREE – Browse local vendors at this outdoor event to find unique and special products here in this family friendly environment. Noon to 4pm.  
  • Salsa Beats at Kemah Boardwalk | FREE – Dance along to the lively music and atmosphere with performances by Houston Salsa Band and Grupo Latitude. Noon to 9pm.
  • Sesame Street Live! at Smart Financial Center – Little fans can hang with Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster, and their other favorite characters from Sesame Street at this playful song and dance show. $29 and up. 2pm.
  • Fighting Hunger (Taylor’s Version) at Eureka Heights Brew Co. – Target Hunger hosts a Taylor Swift-themed fundraiser and food drive complete with Taylor trivia, a Taylor playlist, The Eras tour on screen, a fabulous photo wall, and more. $22 and up; $13 ages 5 to 13. 2pm to 5pm; trivia at 3pm.
  • Curator Talk: Clare Elliott on A Neighborhood of Art at The Menil Collection | FREE – Walk the Menil campus’ green spaces and the outdoor sculptures by artists Michael Heizer, Ellsworth Kelly, and Mark di Suvero and more. 3pm.
  • Paella Sunday at Mutiny Wine Room – Chef Eduardo Alcayaga will be cooking up his famous seasonal seafood paella over a live fire on the patio. Folks can pair the paella mixta priced at $38 with a Spanish wine pairing for $15 by the glass; $56 by the bottle. Seatings at 4pm and 6:30pm.
  • Bourbon Fest Grand Whiskey Tasting at Julep – Savor 45 exceptional spirit tastings, live acoustic music by John Egan, interactive cocktail demonstrations, and chance to connect with experts in the brown water at each tasting table. $35. 4pm to 7pm.
  • Texas Open at Houston Polo Club – Wear your finest boots and cowboy hat at a world class polo match, complete with player parade, live music, expert announcing, a Champagne divot stomp at halftime and more. $18 and up. 5pm.
  • Boys of Summer in Concert at Grand 1894 Opera House – Reminisce with some of the best tunes from The Eagles when the Boys of Summer tribute band turns their clock to island time. $39 and up. 7:30pm.
