Valerie Sweeten

Valerie Sweeten, a University of Houston graduate, has been a published writer with major news publications for over 30 years and is the author of the educational fiction series, Shh, Listen: In the Rainforest, Shh, Listen: On a Safari, Shh, Listen: In the Outback as well as the rhyming centric story, "The Donut Tree," a story of sharing and kindness. She’s also the founder/editor of the online magazine, Hot in Houston Now. When not writing, Valerie is a creative writing teacher with Writers in the Schools with a focus on elementary age students, making a mess in the kitchen and catching up with a good book.
