Experience a journey into the stars with stunning visuals and classical music when Houston’s ROCO presents the world premiere of Remarkable at Miller Outdoor Theatre on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 7:30pm.

Houston-based ROCO—an innovative, dynamic professional music ensemble with up to 40 players from all over the U.S. and Canada—launches their 2024-25 season with a program created and led by this season’s composer-in-residence, Vietnamese-American composer Viet Cuong.

Remarkabls draws inspiration from both ROCO’s orchestra and the cosmos, with individual musicians representing stars within constellations that will be projected on the screen.

Continuing the celestial theme, ROCO will perform a new arrangement of Gustav Holst’s masterpiece “The Planets” with commissioned animation depicting the mythological characters for which the planets are named.

Finally, Emmy award-winning composer John Wineglass’s “Cityscapes” will be performed in tandem with a video that showcases the Houston community.

ROCO will also perform this same concert at The Church of St. John the Divine on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 5pm, with tickets priced “Pay-What-You-Wish” with a suggested price of $35.

As always, all shows and performances at Miller Outdoor Theatre are completely free.
