- Houston Arboretum presents Science Spooktacular | Thursday to Saturday – Enjoy a week of Halloween-themed virtual events geared toward children and families including spooky bedtime stories, fun-filled slimy science experiments and more during Science Spooktacular. Tickets are $10 for non-members per family; free for members; $15 for activity bags. 6pm to 7pm daily.
- Shakey Graves in Concert at White Oak Music Hall | Friday and Saturday – Let loose while taking in the Americana tunes of Austin-based musician Shakey Graves at a socially distanced, in-person performance on the lawn at White Oak Music Hall. Tickets range from $95 for six people on the rear lawn to $1,000 for ten people on the hilltop. 7pm both nights.
- Halloween 2020 Celebrations & Virtual Events Around Greater Houston | Friday to Sunday – Whether you’re looking to have a cocktail on a socially distanced patio, enjoy a spooky concert, go to an all-out costume ball, or celebrate from the comfort of your own home, there are plenty of events to let loose this Halloween in Houston. Times vary.
- Houston Symphony presents Live from Jones Hall: Tchaikovsky’s Serenade | Friday to Sunday – Delight in dazzling limited capacity in-person performances when the Houston Symphony performs one of Tchaikovsky’s most beloved masterpieces, Serenade, at Jones Hall. Saturday’s performance will also be live-streamed. Tickets for in-person attendance start at $36; tickets for Saturday’s virtual performance are $20. Showtimes vary.
- Diverse-City, An Ode To Houston at Archway Gallery | Friday to Sunday | FREE – Explore Houstonian and French-born photographer Isabelle Perreau’s new works celebrating H-Town’s diverse and curious mix of cultures and heritages from around the globe. Times vary.
- Houston Grand Opera Digital presents Vinkensport, or The Finch Opera Online | Debuts Friday | FREE – Tune into Marquee TV or HGO’s website to catch a funny little chamber opera inspired by the little known Belgian sport of finch calling. The filmed opera was produced locally with talented HGO members. The program will remain available for viewing after it drops. Debuts at 7:30pm
- Vegan State Fair: Fall Market & Pumpkin Patch in EaDo | Saturday and Sunday – Munch on two days worth of tasty vegan treats, hit the pumpkin patch with family or friends, enjoy a Selena tribute performance, costume contests and more, at the Vegan State Fair’s annual event. General admission is $6 per day; $20 for VIP. Noon to 6pm both days.
- Zoo Boo at Houston Zoo | Daily – Zoo Boo is back and you can bring the kiddos to enjoy Halloween pics at 10 different Instagrammable photo ops, a Spooky Train Village, kid-friendly short stories and more. Tickets are $22.95 for adults; $17.95 for ages 2 to 11. 9am to 5pm daily.
- 20+ Breweries, Wineries & Distilleries in Houston’s Outskirts | Daily – Explore some of the finest breweries, wineries and distilleries outside the city limits, including delicious options in Baytown, Beaumont, Brazosport, Clear Lake and the Bay Area, Conroe, Galveston, Pearland, Port Arthur, and Tomball.
- Fight to the Finish – 1945: The Final Year at Lone Star Flight Museum | Daily – Explore how Allied forces took to the air to bring an end to World War II and get a look at a collection of original war effort posters at this exhibition, open for summer and fall 2020. Times vary.

- Houston Texans vs. New England Patriots at NRG Stadium – Cheer on the Houston Texans as they battle it out against the New England Patriots, live from NRG Stadium and broadcast on CBS and local radio. Limited tickets for in-person attendance have been released and are expected to sell out. Tickets start at $60 but you may find better, cheaper, or hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. Noon.
- Apollo to the Moon at the George Theater – Catch a live, in-person theatrical presentation of a family-friendly, astronaut-celebrating multi-media presentation from A.D. Players on Tour, celebrating the U.S. space program. $12, but limited discounted $6 tickets are available. Showtimes vary.
- National Museum of Funeral History’s “Cremation Sale” Gift Shop Live Event on Facebook | FREE – Featuring clearance and end-of-the-line items perfect for Halloween and other fall holidays, join the NMFH for a live, online shopping experience including decor, handmade prints, unique jewelry, handbags, clothing and more. 4pm to 5pm.

- UH School of Art presents Lecture and Discussion with Derrick Adams | FREE – Take part in an online lecture and discussion presented by the University of Houston School of Art featuring artist Derrick Adams, whose work has been the subject of numerous solo shows and is often centered around his Black identity and themes of Black culture in America. 7pm to 9pm.
- Whiskey Bent with Comedian John Wessling at Houston Improv – Laugh yourself silly when comedian, host of the After Later podcast, and native Texan John Wessling, who is known for his hilarious roasting capabilities, performs at Houston Improv for an evening of stand up. Tickets for general admission tables are $20 for two; $40 for four; $60 for six. 8pm.

- Spooktacular Movie Night: Monsters, Inc. Movie Screening at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – Get your monster movie fix with a family twist at an outdoor screening of Disney Pixar’s 2001 smash-hit Monsters, Inc. on large LED screens at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands. Tickets for family packs are $20 and include four seats, popcorn, and free parking. Doors at 6pm; movie starts at 7:30pm.
- Brandon Padier in Concert at The Rustic | No Cover – Get your country music fix while catching a live set of Americana tunes from South Texas singer-songwriter, Brandon Padier, at The Rustic’s backyard patio in Downtown. 6pm to 7:30pm.
- Griffin House in Concert at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck – Catch a rock and roll live set when singer-songwriter Griffin House hits the stage at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck in Upper Kirby. This event will also be held online via McGonigel’s Mucky Duck’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. There will be a show at 7pm and 9:30pm.
- Saint Arnold Brewing Company presents Halloween Treat & Beer Pairing on Instagram Live – Join Saint Arnold Beer Garden and Restaurant pastry chef Dawn Prater and founder Brock Wagner as they guide viewers through a virtual tasting of scary sweet and savory pairings from their year-round lineup and beer cellar. Tickets for the pairing package is $55. 7pm.
- Scream Movie Screening at City Acre Brewing Co. | FREE – Check out a slasher screening of the 1996 horror classic, Scream, directed by Wes Craven and starring David Arquette, Neve Campbell, and Courteney Cox, at an outdoor movie screening at City Acre Brewing Co. 7:15pm.
- Miller Outdoor Theatre Virtual Series in October: In the Studio with Zeshan B | FREE – Kick off a weekend chock-full of virtual performances when Miller Outdoor Theatre and Asia Society Texas Center present a digital concert from Indo-Pakistani soul artist Zeshan B and a conversation with The Suffers’ Kam Franklin. 7:30pm to 9pm.
- Fab Four Musical & Visual Experience at 8th Wonder Brewery | No Cover – Go on a magical mystery tour as 8th Wonder features an evening of music by the Beatles, set to a visuals projected on David Adickes’ 36-foot tall Beatles sculptures. 7:30pm to 10pm.
- Flash Gordon Parks DJ Set at Brasil Houston | No Cover – Hit the Montrose café mainstay for food, drinks and a lively evening set that ranges from blues and jazz to soul/funk and hip-hop from DJ Flash Gordon Parks on the back patio. 8pm to 10pm.
- Stoned Immaculate: A Doors Tribute in Concert at Rockfeller’s Houston – Break on through to the other side while rocking out to classic songs like “Riders On The Storm” when The Doors tribute band, Stoned Immaculate, takes the stage at Rockfeller’s Houston on Washington Ave. Tickets range from $15 to $19, but space is limited to 80 people for social distancing purposes. 8pm to 11pm.
