Stages: Let. Her. Rip. at The Gordy | Daily | Final Weekend – Set in London’s East End during the notorious summer of 1888, the world premiere weaves together the real-life Match Women’s labor movement and the terror of the Jack the Ripper murders. $25 +. Times vary.

FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Watch Parties at Social Beer Garden | Daily | Ongoing – Catch the excitement as top soccer clubs battle it out on the big screen at the Midtown mainstay, with every game available at the Midtown mainstay destination through the championship game on July 13. Times vary

Juneteenth Living History Fest at Buffalo Soldiers National Museum | Friday & Saturday | FREE – The Midtown museum’s back lawn transforms into a living history encampment of the US Colored Troops in a 2-day festival featuring arts and crafts, demonstrations, family activities, and a curated Liberation Market with Black- and veteran-owned businesses and community organizations. 10am to 4pm both days.

Morgan Wallen in Concert at NRG Stadium | Friday & Saturday – The Grammy-nominated country star from Tennessee brings his I’m The Problem Tour to NRG Park for 2 packed shows. $104.80+, but you may find better or hard-to-get seats on the resale marketplace. 5:30pm both nights.

Comedian Connor King at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday & Saturday – The Chicago comic who rose to fame on America’s Got Talent—known for his distinct style and relatable humor—for 2 shows over 2 nights. $26.14. Times vary.

Comicpalooza 2025 at George R. Brown Convention Center | Friday to Sunday – Houston’s very own pop culture festival returns with 3 days of panels, appearances by actors from your film and television, creators, vendor markets, cosplay, gaming, kids activities, and more. Times vary.

The International Gem & Jewelry Show at NRG Center | Friday to Sunday – Find one-of-a-kind jewelry creations, loose gemstones, beaded strands, pearls, watches, antique and estate jewelry, accessories, and more. $6; $8 at the door; free for military. Times vary.

2nd Anniversary: Trill Summer Bash 2025 at Trill Burgers in Upper Kirby | Saturday & Sunday | FREE – Bun B’s beloved burger headquarters celebrates 2 years on Shepherd with its first summer block party over Juneteenth weekend, complete with 2 days of live music Houston hip hop and R&B artists in the evenings, DJs and a kids zone by day, vendors, delicious Trill burgers, giveaways, and more. Houston Symphony: Disney/Pixar’s Up in Concert at Jones Hall | Saturday & Sunday The Symphony performs Michael Giacchino’s Oscar-winning film score live at a screening of the beloved film Up (PG, 2009). $44+. 7:30pm Saturday; 2pm Sunday.

Paris, Texas Movie Screening at The River Oaks Theatre | Saturday & Sunday – The theater’s Cinemaniacs Series screens Wim Wenders’ exploration (R, 1984) of the US Southwest, masculinity, and family, written by Pulitzer Prize–winning Sam Shepard. $12. Times vary.

Drunk Shakespeare: Romeo & Juliet at the Emerald Theater | Daily | Ongoing – See the Bard’s tale like never before, when one of the lead actors takes 5 shots of whiskey before launching into the tale of the star-crossed lovers. $49+. Times vary.

Blooming Wonders Immersive Exhibition at Artechouse in The Heights | Daily | Ongoing – Gawp at the immersive, climate-controlled digital garden where art, technology, and nature converge—and cocktails come to life with augmented reality. $30; $17 for ages 4 to 15; $23 for ages 65+, military and first responders. Juneteenth Proclamation Reading at 1859 Ashton Villa | Juneteenth, Thursday, June 19 | FREE – Take in a live reading of General Order No. 3, which declared freedom for enslaved people, at Galveston Island’s official Juneteenth historic monument. 10am.

Celebrating Black History! at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – On Juneteenth itself, join Express Children’s Theatre for a Celebration of Black History from Ancient Africa to Modern Day Houston. 11am.

Juneteenth: Urban Harvest African American Crops & Foodways on Zoom | FREE with RSVP – AARP Houston and Urban Harvest host an online class exploring the cultural traditions and history of produce commonly grown in African American gardens 11am to noon. 

Houston Juneteenth Soul Food Festival at Glitz & Glam Events Center The city’s top soul food chefs and Black-owned businesses celebrate with a day packed with eats, live music, and family-friendly fun. $10+. Noon to 6pm.  

Cancer Screenings Every Man Should Know on Zoom | FREE with RSVP – In honor of Men’s Health Month, MD Anderson Cancer Center and AARP Houston host a virtual class delving into how preventive care enables men to take charge of their health. 1pm to 2pm.

Juneteenth Parade & Picnic in Galveston | FREE – The lively parade marks the day, kicking off at 26th and Avenue H, with the picnic immediately following at the Wright Cuney Park endpoint. 3pm to 4:30pm.

Fit Houston Mason Park Pop-Up Walk at Mason Park | FREE with RSVP – Join a relaxing walk around Mason Park along Brays Bayou in the East End, meeting local organization reps and connecting with Houstonians interested in health and wellness. 5pm to 7pm.

Juneteenth 160: Freedom, Fireworks & Family at Menard Park | FREE – Galveston marks the 160th anniversary of Juneteenth with an evening of remembrance, culture, and celebration. Highlights include honoring veterans, a presentation of past Miss Juneteenths, live music, a big fireworks show, and more. 5pm to 9pm.

Terms & Conditions: The Promise vs. Reality Exhibition Opening at the University Museum at Texas Southern University | FREE – The traveling contemporary art exhibition highlights post-1865 liberation through the lens of the freedom-declaring General Order No. 3, as well as the legacy of the USCT and the Emancipation Proclamation. Chatrau D’Issan Wine Dinner at Étoile Cuisine et Bar – Chef Philippe Verpiand hosts an “expérience de la cuisine” with the wines of Château d’Issan, known for elegant, rich aromas, and silky textures. $115. 6:30pm.

The Essence of Juneteenth Wine Tasting at The Rado MKT – The Third Ward market hosts a summer tasting highlighting African American winemakers and featuring light, refreshing wines like white wines, rosés, and sparkling wines. $36.64. 6:30pm.

Author Talk: Ivy Pochda at Murder by the Book | FREE – The Los Angeles Times Book Prize winner discusses her latest novel, Ecstasy, a reimagining of Greek tragedy. 6:30pm.

An Intimate Evening with Okkervil River & The Antlers at White Oak Music Hall – After touring together in 2024, members of Austin’s Okkervil River and Brooklyn’s The Antlers “band together”—also the name of their new shared album—for a joint tour playing their old songs, new songs, and each other’s song. $37.55. 7pm.

Houston Symphony: 50th Anniversary: Jaws in Concert at Jones Hall – The Symphony performs a live score to Steven Spielberg’s 1975 classic—and the original summer blockbuster—Jaws (PG, 1975). $57+. 7:30pm.

ETNL Summer Series: Night Drive in Concert at Meow Wolf: Radio Tave – Meow Wolf’s music series welcomes the Houston-Austin synth-pop duo—part post-punk melancholy, part dance-floor propulsion. $42+ includes Meow Wolf admission. 8pm.

Maxwell in Concert at Smart Financial Centre – The multi-Grammy-winning, Billboard chart-topping R&B and soul artist Maxwell lands in Sugar Land, with Lucky Dave in tow, on The Serenade Tour 2025. $48+. 8pm.
