Express Children’s Theatre & Dance of Asian America: Legends of the Chinese Zodiac at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Tuesday & Wednesday | FREE – The 2-part performance for kids, performed on back-to-back mornings, explores the legend of the Jade Emperor, who created a 12-month zodiac to keep track of time and created a race for all the animals in the kingdom to compete for a spot on the calendar. 11am both days.

Celebrating Black History! at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Thursday | FREE – On Juneteenth itself, Express Children’s Theatre continues its weekday morning performance with a celebration of Black History from Ancient Africa to Modern Day Houston. 11am.

Juneteenth 160: Freedom, Fireworks & Family at Menard Park | Thursday | FREE – Galveston marks the 160th anniversary of Juneteenth with an evening of remembrance, culture, and celebration. Highlights include honoring veterans, a presentation of past Miss Juneteenths, live music, a big fireworks show, and more. 5pm to 9pm.

Park After Dark at Discovery Green | Thursday | FREE – The park, including fountains, stay open late for all ages fun, starting off with line dancing with Gretchen “The Legend” Jean and party music by DJ Boom Boom Williams. Bumper boats and LED kayaks are available for rental. 7pm to 10pm.

Let’s Play! Party at Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center | Friday – Get hands on with a day filled with toy-making workshops, video game trucks, giant lawn games, slime, and more. $15; $14 ages 65+. 9am to 5pm.

AsiaFest 2025 at Asia Society Texas Center | Friday | FREE – Celebrate Asian H-Town with performances, art activities, an outdoor dragon boat display, live demos, vendors, and more. RSVP required to enter the museum. $12 ticketed performances. 5pm to 9pm.

Juneteenth Living History Fest at Buffalo Soldiers National Museum | Friday & Saturday | FREE – The Midtown museum’s back lawn transforms into a living history encampment of the US Colored Troops in a 2-day festival featuring arts and crafts, demonstrations, family activities, and a curated Liberation Market with Black- and veteran-owned businesses and community organizations. 10am to 4pm both days.

Comicpalooza 2025 at George R. Brown Convention Center | Friday to Sunday – Houston’s very own pop culture festival returns with 3 days of panels, appearances by actors from your film and television, creators, vendor markets, cosplay, gaming, kids activities, and more. Times vary.

Juneteenth Celebration at Children’s Museum Houston | Saturday – Kiddos can celebrate Juneteenth with a performance by Joy of Djembe Drumming Ensemble and DJ Ferbidden, check out Juneteenth Champions—a powerful one-day-only art exhibit, and join in workshops. 9am to 6pm.

Festa Junina: Brazilian Country Festival at Powder Keg | Saturday – The family-friendly fest celebrates Brazil’s countryside traditions, including music, kids activities, games, traditional food and drinks, and more. $17.85. 4pm to 10pm.

Galveston’s Own Farmers Market at 1904 GH&H Depot | Sunday | FREE – Get your Sunday started out right at the market dedicated to connecting good folks with good food and each other. Shoppers of all ages can mingle and find fresh local produce, croissants, coffee, spices, meat, eggs, and more. 9am to noon.
