- Houston Rockets vs. Philadelphia 76ers at Toyota Center – Cheer loud for the Rockets when they hit the court to play the 76ers at Toyota Center. Tickets start at $34, but you may find better or cheaper seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 7pm.
- Funfetti Friday at The Ice at Discovery Green – Skate around The Ice at Discovery Green while jamming out to a colorful light show with beats from DJ Mohawk Steve during Funfetti Fridays. General admission is $11 per person; $4 for skate rental. 7pm to 9pm.
- A Night of Stars! 125th Anniversary at The Grand 1894 Opera House – Celebrate 125 years of entertainment at The Grand in Galveston, which has opened its doors to countless memorable productions and performers throughout the years. The special event will include photo opportunities, vignettes, cocktails, food stations, plus live music by The Rob Landes Trio. Tickets start at $125. 7pm.
- F-Rated Fridays at Hamburger Mary’s – Enjoy dinner and a show when Cyn City and Blackberri host an evening of Friday-night entertainment at Hamburger Mary’s F-Rated Fridays. They’ll offer shows at 7pm and 9:30pm, plus $2 shots and a seafood dinner special. A $5 per person entertainment fee is added to the check. 7pm and 9:30pm.
- Who’s Bad: Michael Jackson Tribute Concert at House of Blues – Pay homage to the King of Pop during this live Michael Jackson tribute show at House of Blues in Downtown. Tickets range from $15 to $39.50. 9pm.

- Cars in the Park at Evelyn’s Park | FREE – Scope out a selection of classic and exotic cars and trucks when Evelyn’s Park in Bellaire hosts this monthly event geared toward automobile enthusiasts. 8:30am to 10:30am.
- Houston Center for Photography Workshop at Levy Park | FREE – Learn the basics of photography every first and third Saturday of the month at Levy Park. In this workshop, participants will focus on sequencing and storytelling. 9am to 10:30am.
- Main Street Trade Days in La Porte | No Cover – Every first Saturday of the month, you can shop for antiques, collectibles, re-purposed furniture, and artisan goods on Main Street in La Porte. 10am to 2pm.
- Brunch with The Broad’s Way at Piggy’s Kitchen | No Cover – Sing along to your favorite Broadway hits when The Broad’s Way members perform a family- and pet-friendly show on the patio of Piggy’s Kitchen. 11am to 2pm.
- Sip Shop Adopt at HPA Thrift | No Cover – Find a new furry friend at Houston Pets Alive Thrift’s Sip Shop Adopt event at their location in Rice Village. They’ll have light bites, adult beverages, pet adoptions, and discounts on select items. Noon.
- Young Writers Workshop at Discovery Green | FREE – Bring aspiring writers to this free workshop, where they will learn the basics of storytelling and language skills. Led by the Houston Public Library, the weekly workshop takes place at Discovery Green. 10:30am to 11:30am.
- First Saturday Arts Market in The Heights | No Cover – Browse artwork and enjoy delicious bites and live music at the First Saturday Arts Market in the Heights. 11am to 6pm.
- Houston Texans vs. Buffalo Bills at NRG Stadium: AFC Wild Card Game | Saturday, January 4 – After clinching the Number 4 seed, the Texans will host the Bills with a trip on the line to the AFC Divisional Round against either the Baltimore Ravens or Kansas City Chiefs. Tickets range $75 to over $450, but you may find better, cheaper, or hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 3:30pm.
- The Social Market at Social Beer Garden HTX | No Cover – Shop unique finds from local vendors every first Saturday of the month on the patio at Midtown’s Social Beer Garden HTX. 4pm.
- Skate with Storybook Stars at The Ice at Discovery Green – Bring the kids to ice skate alongside popular characters like Frozen’s Elsa from Frozen, Spiderman and more on The Ice at Discovery Green. General admission is $11; $4 for skate rental fee. 4pm to 6pm.
- Joel Anderson’s Urban Observations Opening Reception at Archway Gallery | FREE – Archway Gallery in Montrose hosts a free opening reception for its newest exhibition, Urban Observations, featuring a new collection of encaustic painting by Joel Anderson. See Houston through Anderson’s eyes—what he sees while driving about town and taking walks through the Houston Heights. 5pm to 8pm.
