Once just a punny turn of phrase, May the fourth has become the officially unofficial holiday for fans of the Star Wars saga (“May the fourth be with you”). Check out these options across the city for fans big and small.

- May The 4th Dark Side Beer Release Party at City Acre Brewing Co. | No Cover – Celebrate Star Wars day with the release of the Come to the Dark Side stout and the re-release of the Choctopus Chocolate Strawberry Stout. 11am to 11pm.
- May the Fourth Be With You 5K Fun Run at H-Fitness | FREE – Join H-Fitness for a Star Wars day May the Fourth Be With You 5K Fun Run featuring prizes for best costumes and free t-shirts or tanks for all participants. Noon to 1pm.
- May the 4th Party at BAKFISH Brewing Company | No Cover – Put on a costume and geek out with fellow Star Wars fans at the May the 4th Party at BAKFISH Brewing Company. 5pm to 8pm.
- May the 4th Be With You: Star Wars Community Night at Houston Food Bank – The Star Wars Enthusiasts of Houston hosts a family-friendly May The 4th Be With You party filled with cosplay, games and more at the Houston Food Bank. A donation of 4 canned goods is encouraged. This event will consist of a short volunteer shift from 6pm to 7pm, followed by Star Wars themed activities, games, and snacks after from 7pm to 9pm.
- May the Fourth Be with You: Mixers & Elixirs at Houston Museum of Natural Science – Join the dark side for the May the Fourth Be with You party at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Mix, mingle and make new friends from a galaxy not so far away and enjoy two DJs, dancing, cocktails, costumes, and food trucks. Tickets are $25. 7pm to 10pm.
- May the Fourth Be with You at Sam Houston Race Park – Sam Houston Race Park hosts a May the Fourth Be with You celebration with a live horse race and a free lightsaber to the first 1,000 attendees. This event is included with admission to the race. 7pm to 10pm.
Saturday, May 5 & Sunday, May 6, 2018
- 7th Annual May the 4th Art Festival – Celebrate all things Star Wars with over 100 artists and vendors, DJs, food trucks, and costumes at the 7th Annual May the 4th Art Festival. Tickets are $7 in advance; $10 at the door; free for kids under 12. Noon each day.
