  • National Tequila Day at El Big Bad | No Cover – The extensive collection of tequilas at El Big Bad in Downtown gets cracked open for a National Tequila Day celebration featuring margaritas that start at $1 at 1pm, gaining $1 on each hour until 5pm when you score a marg for $5.

  • Trivia & Taco Night at Coaches Pub Midtown | No Cover – Challenge yourself with a wide-ranging slate of trivia topics at the Midtown pub, with $2 tacos available for your celebration or commiseration. 6:30pm.
  • Shrek Trivia at Little Woodrow’s Shepherd | No Cover – Play a few rounds of Shrek-themed trivia while you enjoy special themed drinks and tall beer specials at the Shepherd outpost of the popular drinkery. 7pm.
  • Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? Themed Trivia at McIntyre’s Downtown | No Cover – Check your intellect at this themed trivia night in Downtown, where you’ll test your knowledge in a variety of school-appropriate topics. You can also bring supplies for the Houston Angels back-to-school supply drive. 7pm.
  • Cabaret Show at The Neon Rouge – One of the newest cabaret performances to the city, the Neon Rouge hosts this dinner-and-a-show featuring an all-star cast of burlesque performers, aerialists, singers and more. $31.50 and up. 8:30pm.

  • Steak & Trivia Wednesdays at 11 Below Brewing Company | No Cover – Dig into steaks from Rosalila Urbano at the Northwest Houston brewery, where you can also enjoy a weekly trivia session with beer tokens, gift cards and a case of beer up for grabs. 5pm to 9pm.
  • Melodic Mood Wednesday at Trez Bistro & Wine Bar – Cellist Klare Naomi provides the vibe at the Washington Avenue-area wine bar, which serves up a tasty steak dinner with special pairing. Reservations recommended. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Wine Down Yoga at Katy Crossing Icehouse – Take an all-levels yoga class that helps you unwind after a long day, while also building strength and flexibility and then enjoy a glass of wine at Katy Crossing Icehouse. $20. 7pm to 11pm.
  • Ostora: An Opulent Narrative Show & Dinner Experience at The Ivy House – Ostora, a live fantasy show experience located at Ivy House merges theater and upscale dining to evoke an other-worldly ethereal experience, with performances played out within arm’s length. Watch a production of The Fate of White Snake with the storytelling performances of magic, music and aerial burlesque. $35. 8pm to 10:30pm.
  • The Big & Easy Blues Jam at The Big Easy | No Cover – Bring an instrument or just soak up the New Orleans vibes at this weekly blues and jazz jam at the Lower Kirby social club. 9pm to 1am.

  • Summer Nights at MFAH – Art lovers who want to beat the crowds will love these private evenings at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. Sip cocktails, chat with curators, wander the galleries and spend time with your favorite works of art. Attendees receive one complimentary drink per admission ticket. $40. 6pm to 9pm.
  • The Happening at The Orange Show | FREE – Held on the last Friday of each month, this curated showcase of experimental performance art is one of the Orange Show’s signature events and a great opportunity to delve into Houston’s creative community. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Comedian Cody Woods at Sable Gate Winery – Seen on Hulu, Comedy Central’s Hart of the City, and more, the stand-up comedian brings his brand of comedy to the Midtown winery. Steven Farmer also appears. $15 and up. 8pm.
  • Rema in Concert at Bayou Music Center – The rapidly rising Nigerian-born sensation—who has tallied collabs with Selena Gomez and Don Tolliver—Rema will be a one-man party machine as the Rave & Roses North American II tour busts through the Bayou Music Center in Downtown. $41 and up. 8pm.
  • Club 90’s presents The Weeknd Night at House of Blues – Come to Downtown and dance the night away to hits by pop star The Weeknd, like “Blinding Lights” and “Starboy” to help you properly kick off the weekend. $17 and up. 9pm.
  • Classic Numbers Salute to 1986 at Numbers Nightclub – The Classic Numbers night tunes into the year of 1986 for a dance classics from a mix of new wave, punk, industrial and more. Cover charge at the door. 9pm to 2am.
  • The Local Honeys in Concert at the Rustic Downtown | No Cover – The Kentucky duo brings their new generation of Appalachian music to the Bayou City. Americana Highways called their 2022 self-titled album “one of the year’s best,” while Folk Radio UK praised the group’s close harmonies and narrative-framed songs. 9:30pm.

  • LetsDoThisHouston presents Bike & Brunch to the Savoy – Cruise the city and enjoy chill tunes as you bike and brunch to the new Savoy Ice House in the Third Ward, offering a chance to make new friends and see the city in a new way. $12 and up; bike rentals available. 10:30am to 1pm.
  • Garden Party & Planting Workshop at Brennan’s of Houston – The Midtown restaurant joins with nearby plant shop The Flora Culture for this hands-on workshop where you’ll sip cocktails, enjoy light bites, and create a potted plant to take home. $45, plus tax and gratuity. 11:30am to 1:30pm.
  • 9th Anniversary Beer Releases at B-52 Brewing | No Cover – Get ready for three cat-themed beer releases at this anniversary celebration at the Conroe brewery. Sample them on draft or in 16oz. four packs, and grab a collectible glass to take home. Prices vary. Noon.
  • Christmas in July at Frost Town Brewing | No Cover – Sure, the heat index feels more like the Sahara than the North Pole, but this event will get you into the yuletide spirit all the same. There’s music, family entertainment, food and more, along with shopping from local makers offering jewelry, home goods, fashion and other great gifts. Noon to 6pm.
  • Art & Wine: Texas Sky & Clouds at Our Texas Cultural Center – Unleash your creativity while sipping wine and painting a beautiful Texas landscape. Bring a photo of your favorite Texas sunrise or sunset for inspiration. Don’t have one? Several will be available for you to work from. Artist and art therapy coach Natalia Kachanova-Rhodes leads the class. $40. 2pm.
  • The Woodlands Margarita Festival 2023 at Town Green Park – Sip through over a dozen margarita flavors, both frozen and on the rocks, at this festival in the Woodlands, which also features live bands, food and other festivities. $100 and up. 2pm to 8:30pm.
  • ¡Alotta Michelada! at Urban South HTX Brewery – This inaugural event features 18 challengers who will face off to be crowned the Michelada Master of Houston. Each ticket includes four Ocho Mexican-style Lagers, a sample from each Michelada challenger, and a souvenir glass. There will be Judges’ Choice for Best In Show and a People’s Choice Award as well. $25. 6pm to 10pm.
  • UFC 291 & Spence vs. Crawford 2-for-1 Watch Party at Social Beer Garden | No Cover – Catch a live screening of UFC 291 featuring the second round of Poirier vs. Gaethje, along with two of the greatest welterweight boxers, Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford, in a head-to-head boxing match—both shown with full volume. 7pm.
  • Comedian Sarah Sherman at the Secret Group – The comedian, a recent addition to the cast of Saturday Night Live, takes her comedy act on the road for an unconventional show. Getting her start in Chicago under the name Sarah Squirm, she told Vulture that she find “glory in gore.” $25. 7pm.
  • Summer Luau at MarMo Plaza in Galveston – This first ever event in Downtown Galveston features a traditional Luau menu with refreshing Hawaiian cocktails, a performance from Hawaiian Drums of Tahiti Revue, hula dances, caricature artists, a swag bag and more. $100. 7pm to 10pm.
  • Good Looks in Concert at Axelrad | FREE – The Texas-based indie rockers swing through Axelrad’s outdoor stage for a free concert. 8pm.
  • Little Outfit Album Release Party at Big Top Lounge – The modern folk band known for its melodic arrangements and crafted songwriting takes to the stage to celebrate their latest album with eight new singles. Singer-songwriter Matt Harlan opens. $10. 9pm.
  • K-Pop Night: Alawn DJ Set at Stereo Live – With hits from BTS, Blackpink and more, this evening of K-Pop features the DJ artistry of Alawn, a multi-platinum producer with more than 16 Billboard No. 1 hits to his credit. He’ll lend his signature style to the playlist for this 18+ show. $15. 10pm to 2am.

Sunday, July 30, 2023 

  • Pound & Pour at Ingenious Brewing Company – Take a Pound class, a workout inspired by drumming that combines cardio, conditioning, and yoga-inspired movements to make a lot of noise, and then enjoy a beer afterward. $15. 10:30am to 11:30am.
  • Cars & Cocktails at Little Woodrow’s Tomball | No Cover – Check out high-performance cars, hotrods, bikes, classic muscle cars and more at this event where you can make new friends and share your enthusiasm for car culture. 11am to 3pm.
  • Wine Crawl presents Sunday Brunch at CRU – This special brunch features a curated menu with wine pairings, allowing you to savor flavors and see how they work together. You’ll meet fellow food and wine enthusiasts and sample the upscale vibe of this River Oaks wine bar. $65. 11am to 1:30pm.
  • Barbie Brunch at Brasserie 19 – Assemble your crew for a Barbie-themed brunch in River Oaks, featured a special menu of eats and cocktails, along with photo ops and other dining specials. Have your pick of the Cosmopolitan Barbie—a blend of vodka, Cointreau and cranberry juice—or try the Beyond the Pink, a simple drink of gin with orange-hibiscus syrup. Prices vary. 12:30pm to 4:30pm.
  • Amapiano Takeover at 02 Lounge – The West Houston bar plays host to a day party showcasing Amapiano music, a hybrid of deep house, jazz, and lounge music that originated from South Africa in the 2010s. It’s characterized by synths and wide percussive basslines. $20. 4pm to 10pm.
  • The Riot Comedy Club presents Myles Weber at Rudyard’s Pub – The viral comedian and featured headliner on MTV’s Greatest Party Story Ever Told, Myles Weber brings his acclaimed storytelling and comedy knack to the Rudz stage for one-night only. $15 and up. 6pm.
