  • The Riot Comedy Club presents Adam Hunter at Rudyard’s Pub | Friday & Saturday – One of the hottest young comedians around today, Hunter was a finalist on season 6 of Last Comic Standing, and has made appearances on MTV, CBS, Comedy Central, The Real Husbands of Hollywood, and more. On stage, Hunter talks about his issues concerning relationships, his dysfunctional family, and other life observations. $20 and up. Times vary
  • Texas Winter Lights at Marriott Marquis Houston | Friday to Sunday – Have some Texas-sized fun in the 6th floor Altitude Rooftop & Pool at the Marriott Marquis in Downtown with an interactive light experience. Enjoy festive signature cocktails, huge light displays, walk-through experiences and plenty of social-worthy elements. The Texas-shaped lazy river is open for floating and heated to 80°. $25 and up. 5pm to 10pm.

  • Dale Watson in Concert at Main Street Crossing – The Texas singer-songwriter brings a night of country tunes to the Tomball stage. $25 and up. 8pm.
  • Tuesday Night Music Club at Sharky’s Tavern | No Cover – The Galveston destination for wood-fired oven pizza hosts the Tuesday Night Music Club, the island’s longest-running open mic night. Live musicians from across the island perform favorite classic rock hits and original works while patrons savor pizza, and drinks from the full bar, dancing, and more. 8pm to midnight.

  • Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night at Galveston Island Brewing | No Cover – This weekly, 21+ trivia night pits teams from 1 to 6 players against one another for top prizes. Smartphones are required to participate. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Irish Session & Game Night at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck | No Cover – The Duck in Upper Kirby hosts a weekly evening of Irish songs and game night. In addition to the live Irish music, the venue puts out its collection of board games like Checkers, Backgammon, Monopoly, Risk, Jeopardy, Operation, Clue, Trivial Pursuit, and more. Attendees are welcome to bring their own games as well. 7:30pm to 10:30pm.

  • Stop Making Sense Dance Party at White Oak Music Hall – Renowned filmmaker Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs) captures the Talking Heads in this new and complete 4k restoration of Stop Making Sense. Expect a dance party, a pre-film Video DJ, and post-film Talking Heads–themed karaoke. $15. 7pm.
  • Line Dance Lessons at Neon Boots Dancehall & Saloon | No Cover – In the Spring Branch area, you can learn how to dance to the songs “Back on Texas Time” and “More Dessert” in this free line dancing class. No prior experience necessary. Cowboy boots optional. 7:30pm.
  • Valentino Khan DJ Set at Stereo Live – Best known for working with Diplo, Skrillex, and Steve Aoki, the EDM DJ and producer Valentino Khan comes to Houston, showcasing his fusion of commercial rap and EDM. $25. 10pm to 2am.

  • Vincent Victoria Presents The Colored Folks Good Time Hour at MATCH – Head to Midtown for the screening of this film about a popular all-Black variety TV show in the 1950s that faced cancellation because of its controversial, openly gay host, Cherry Cola Pitts. It’s been chosen for screenings at numerous film festivals, including the OUT South Queer film festival, the Seattle Queer Film Festival, and the Pride Fest film festival. $15. 2pm.
  • Golden Girls Pub Crawl at Little Woodrow’s Heights | No Cover – Bring out the spirit of your inner Blanche, Dorothy, Rose or Sophia as you enjoy featured cocktails and beers at Little Woodrow’s and other participating bars like Christian’s Tailgate, Bobcat Teddy’s, and more. A portion of proceeds benefits Houston Pets Alive. 5pm.

A Holiday Burlesque at Henke & Pillot – Starring the New York City-based burlesque superstar Medianoche, this performance showcases unique and vintage burlesque, blending art, dance, tease, glamor and humor.
