  • Houston Restaurant Weeks at Multiple Locations | Daily | Ongoing – The Houston Food Bank’s biggest fundraiser returns for another year, offering a month-plus of tasty and charitable food and drink. Over 200 local restaurants are lined up to offer prix fixe meals for brunch, lunch and dinner (and even to-go), with a set dollar donation from each meal sold benefiting the Houston Food Bank and its mission to end hunger and provide food for better lives. Prices are $25 for brunch and lunch, $39 or $55 for dinner. Times vary by location.
  • Peso Pluma at Smart Financial Centre | Thursday & Friday – The young Mexican singer-songwriter and hip-hop star is bringing his electric energy and one-of-a-kind corrido tumbados to Sugar Land for back-to-back nights while touring his recent release, Génesis. $147 and up. 8pm.  
  • The Riot Comedy Club presents Rachel Wolfson at Rudyard’s Pub | Friday & Saturday – Starring alongside the classic crew in the 2022 film Jackass Forever, Rachel Wolfson returns to the upstairs stage for back-to-back nights of hilarity at the Riot. $20 and up. Times vary.
  • Comedian Lil Rel at Houston Improv | Friday to Sunday – The comedian, actor, writer and producer who’s appeared in Judas and the Black Messiah, Hulu’s Bad Trip and more, comes to Houston for three nights of his humorous take on life and society. $70 for 2, and up. Times vary.
  • Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors at Art Factory | Friday to Sunday | Final Weekend – The classic Bram Stoker tale gets a hilarious spoof twist in this first-ever Houston production, ahead of its New York premiere in October. Enter into Dracula’s castle with gluten-free real estate broker Jonathan Harker, who finds his life turned upside down against the one and only monster. $30. Times vary.
  • Houston Reggae Fest at City Hall | Saturday & Sunday – The sixth annual fest returns to Downtown Houston for two days of music and chill vibes. Mykal Rose, Eek-A-Mouse, and Yemi Alade are among the entertainers taking to multiple stages, plus expect food trucks, local vendors, arts and more. $25 per day; $30 for weekend passes. Noon to 10pm.

  • Samba Dance Class at Midtown Park | FREE – Learn the popular Brazilian dance style, Samba with the Brazilian Cultural Institute at Midtown Park. 7:30pm to 9:30pm.
  • Post Malone at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – Posty has just dropped his fifth album, Austin, and he’s hitting up the Woodlands to let y’all know how he feels when he stops by on his If Y’all Weren’t Here I’d Be Crying Tour. $205 and up. 8pm.

  • Melodic Mood Wednesday at Trez Bistro & Wine Bar – Cellist Klare Naomi provides the vibe at the Washington Avenue-area wine bar, which serves up a tasty steak dinner with special pairing. Reservations recommended. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Comedian Kev Herrera at Houston Improv – The New York-based comedian brings his insights on marriage and family life that have grown his social media following through his Only Raising Kings videos. $25 and up. 7pm and 9:30pm.
  • The Big & Easy Blues Jam at The Big Easy | No Cover – Bring an instrument or just soak up the New Orleans vibes at this weekly blues and jazz jam at the Lower Kirby social club. 9pm to 1am.

  • Tiki King Beer Release at Southern Star Brewery | No Cover – The Conroe brewery releases its latest creation, perfect for summer drinking. Grab fellow beer lovers to be among the first to taste the latest in Southern Star’s portfolio. 4pm to 10pm.
  • Platinum Wine Vault Tasting at Bayway Cadillac of the Woodlands Wine & Food Week will offer this summertime version of its signature event, the Platinum Wine Vault Luxury Tasting. The luxe affair transports guests around the globe via exquisite wines and bites. $150. 6pm to 9pm.
  • You Too Big for That Comedy Show at MATCH – Headlined by Louisiana-born, Houston-based comedian BigSkinny, known for breakout success in the online series “The Worthys,” this evening of standup in Midtown also features Trey Mack. $25 and up. 7pm.
  • 3rd Annual Art of Fufu Show at Big Brothers Big Sisters | FREE – This event showcases the uniqueness and love for West Africa’s staple dish. Expect demonstrations, samples and the opportunity to learn more about why Fufu is a star in the culinary world. Free, but donations are welcomed. 7pm to 9pm.
  • Seaport Social & Revue Prevue at Galveston Historic Seaport – Featuring a night of vintage style, 30 bathing beauties will be showing off their vintage and vintage-inspired cocktail attire for the first night of the Galveston Island Revue Weekend. Enjoy live music by Dandy Wellington and His Band, access aboard the Official Tall Ship of Galveston, the 1877 ELISSA, specialty drinks, and more. $35. 7pm to 9pm.
  • Summer Slashers: Horror Art Show + Night Market at Hardy & Nance Studios | No Cover – Embrace the spooky, scary and just plain weird at this art show celebrating film and TV’s horror genre. Guests can shop from artists and vendors who specialize in crafts and other wares that nod to scary stuff. Food truck eats and complimentary beverages will be available. 7pm to midnight.
  • Uptown: A Celebration of Soul at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – The dynamic Motown-inspired trio of virtuoso performers are bringing their Bruno Mars-meets-James Brown vibes to Hermann Park. 8:30pm.
  • Taylor Fest at Rise Rooftop – Calling all Swifties! Come out and dance all night long to some of Taylor’s greatest hits. Whether you’re a “Blank Slate” or looking for your own “Love Story,” the pop powerhouse’s tunes speak volumes to fans of every age. $20. 9pm.
  • Nils Hoffman DJ Set at Bauhaus – The Berlin DJ creates a Euro-sound vibe at the EaDo club. A classically trained pianist, he’s known for his deep, expressive and melodic pieces. $10 and up. 10pm.

  • 5K Beer Run at Southern Star Brewery – Start your Saturday with a run through the neighborhoods around the Conroe brewery. Following the race, chill out with a brew in a souvenir pint glass that you’ll get for crossing the finish line, and enjoy bites from food trucks on site. $65 and up. 8am.
  • Red Bull Batalla: Regional Qualifier at Metropolis | FREE – Witness 16 of the top MCs in the country battle it out for a spot at the National Final for Red Bull Batalla, the world’s largest Spanish-language freestyle rap competition series. Noon to 2:30pm.
  • 7th Anniversary Party at Eureka Heights Brewing Co. | FREE – Throw it back to the ’90s for this birthday bash that celebrates seven years of Eureka Heights’ tasty brews. Get munchies from steak night chef Daniel from South Korean eatery Yong, enjoy live ska from The Suspects, snag exclusive ’90s merch, and shop local vendors. Noon to 6pm.
  • BAM! Market at Silver Street Studios | FREE – Exhibitors and artists offer a unique array of artwork, jewelry and more. Stroll the studios, talk to the artists based there, and catch demonstrations and music throughout the day. Food trucks and libations will also be available. Noon to 7pm.
  • Market on Main in the Museum District | FREE – In the heart of the Museum District, across from Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, you’ll find this vibrant market with local vendors, food trucks serving up delicious bites and meals, and more. 4pm to 8:30pm.
  • Comedian Neal Brennan at House of Blues – The comedian and writer known for co-creating Chappelle’s Show and as a correspondent for The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Neal Brennan brings his one-man comedy set to Downtown Houston. $39 and up. 7pm.
  • Landry’s Houston Chef Series Grand Finale at Post Oak Hotel – Capping off a summer of history-themed dining at Landry’s restaurants across Houston, this Grand Finale celebration sees participating chefs concocting courses paired with cocktails and wine for a Grand Ballroom dinner event. $200. 7pm.

Sunday, August 13, 2023 

  • Goat Yoga at Karbach Brewing – As you downward dog and flow through sun salutations at the Spring Branch brewery, goats roam among you, maybe joining in a pose or two. Following your 45-minute class, you’ll have 30 minutes to greet the goats. Stick around after for a beer. Mats are available for rent, if needed. $45 and up. 10am.
  • Obscure Houston Oddities Market at Numbers – From the fascinating to the strange, all varieties of bizarre and obscure items are available from more than 35 merchants at this unique shopping experience. Head to the Montrose nightclub for a chance to shop and chat with these vendors and artisans. $7 in advance; $10 at the door. 1pm to 7pm.
  • Sunday Funday Drag Show at Katy Vibes – Extravagant costumes, mesmerizing dance moves and incredible lip-syncing skills are just some of what you can expect at this fabulous 21+ show. $5. 3pm.
  • Plant Swap at Craft Beer Cellars | No Cover – Gardeners and the gardening curious are welcome to come out to Cypress for this event, where attendees can swap plants and clippings, and talk to like-minded new friends about growing and gardening. While there, grab a brew with your new buds. 3pm to 6pm.
  • Queen Legacy at Bernhardt Winery – Take a trip back in time with this Queen tribute band, singing the songs made iconic by Freddie Mercury. All your favorites and deep cuts are on the playlist, and you’ll dig the Plantersville winery’s atmosphere. $17 and up. 7pm.
