- Wine Down Wednesday at FM Kitchen and Bar | No Cover – Head to FM Kitchen and Bar every Wednesday for cheap wine all day and some live acoustic music all night from Tom Lynch and Haley Lynch of the local band VODI. Live music begins at 6:30pm.
- Book Drive Benefit & Celebration at Mongoose Versus Cobra | No Cover – Head to Midtown for the Book Drive Benefit & Celebration featuring a happy hour and raffles at Mongoose Versus Cobra. 6pm to 9pm.
- Summer Soireé at Tootsies – Women of Wardrobe and Tootsies present their Summer Soireé featuring the fall collection by Hunter Bel, Claudia Lobao jewelry, and curated collections by MILLY and Sam Edelman. Tickets start at $45. 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
- The Mattson 2 in Concert at Rockefellers – Rock out to the San Diego-based duo The Mattson 2 with openers Astronauts, Etc. at Rockefellers. Tickets are $13. 7pm.
- Buxton in Concert at Karbach Brewing Restaurant and Patio | No Cover – Karbach Brewing hosts their Music to Your Beer summer series featuring the local folk-rock band, Buxton. 7pm to 9pm.
- Shakira in Concert at Toyota Center – The make-up date has arrived after Shakira postponed her original Houston show in January to recover from vocal chord injury. See the pop sensation at the Toyota Center. Tickets from $50.50 to over $200, but you may be able to find better or cheaper seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 7:30pm.
- Lyle Lovett and His Large Band in Concert at Hobby Center – A future hall-of-famer, Lovett is one of the premier singer-songwriters of our time. Performing with his Large Band, Lovett brings his Texas-sized talents to the stage for an intimate Hobby Center set. Tickets range from $39.50 to $89.50, but you may find better or cheaper seats on the TicketNetwork resale marketplace. 8pm.

- Happy Hour Thursday at MFAH | No Cover – Browse the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and enjoy a cash bar, local DJ, and grub from a local food truck. 5pm to 8pm.
- Wild Moccasins, Buxton & Vodi in Concert at Warehouse Live – Three local Houston bands perform for an evening event of live music at Warehouse Live. This event is a fundraiser for Beto O’Rourke. Minimum donation of $25. 6pm to 9pm.
- Happy Hour with Beetle in Concert at The Continental Club | No Cover – Hear your favorite Beatles songs every Thursday evening with the tribute band, Beetle at The Continental Club. 7pm to 10pm.
- Harry Potter Trivia at Great Heights Brewing – Witches and wizards can come together for an evening of Harry Potter Trivia at Great Heights Brewing. Tickets start at $6. 7pm to 9:30pm.
- Billy Currington in Concert at Revention Music Center – Watch country music singer Billy Currington at Revention Music Center. Tickets start at $67. 7pm.
- Tony Bennett in Concert at Smart Financial Centre – The legendary musician, Tony Bennett, with 19 Grammys under his belt, arrives to Houston for a night filled with iconic songs such as “Steppin’ Out With My Baby” and “I Left My Heart in San Francisco”. Tickets range from $75.75 to $131.75, but you may find better or cheaper seats on the TicketNetwork online market. 8pm.
- Carolyn Wonderland, with Pike & Sutton in Concert at The Heights Theater – The Texas blues sensation Carolyn Wonderland performs in the historic Heights Theater for one night. Tickets range from $20 to $160 for VIP Tables. 8pm.

- Live After 5: Lil Nathan, Pokey, Step Rideau & Jack Freeman in Concert at Jones Plaza | FREE – Live After Five wraps up for 2018 with an August edition fearing a showcase of R&B and zydeco musical acts. The lineup features Pokey, Lil Nathan & The Zydeco Big Timers, Step Rideau & the Zydeco Outlaws, and Jack Freeman. There will be games and giveaways, plus food by the Kid Kreole Kooking food truck and more. 5pm to 10pm.
- Sawyer Yards Summer Series: August 2018 | FREE – Celebrate summer with great local art, live music, shopping, and a refreshing sip at one of the nation’s largest working creative communities. 6pm to 10pm.

- Daniel Caesar and Teyana Taylor in Concert at Revention Music Center – See R&B singer-songwriters Daniel Caesar and Teyana Taylor on their Break the Internet tour at Revention Music Center. Tickets are $40. 7pm.
- Rudz 40th Anniversary Concert at Rudyard’s British Pub – This Montrose British Pub on Waugh enters its 40th year serving Houston and will be celebrating along with local musicians Vodi, The Wheel Works, and Jealous Creatures. This show is free and open to adults ages 21 and older. 8pm.
- Remember When Rock Was Young: Elton John Tribute at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – Go on a spectacular musical journey when Craig A. Meyer and The Rocket Band pay tribute to Elton John in Remember When Rock Was Young at Miller Outdoor Theatre. 8pm.
- Chancha Via Circuito in Concert at Axelrad | No Cover – Producer, DJ/remixer, and composer, from Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina, Chancha Via Circuito takes the stage at the Axelrad beer garden. 8:30pm to 11:30pm.
- The Vibe Fridays: ‘90s Throwback Edition at Henke & Pillot | No Cover – Henke & Pillot across from Market Square Park in Downtown hosts a weekly ‘90s throwback edition of Effen Friday. KidVicious will be spinning tracks from the ‘90s, one of the best eras of all time, and ‘90s-inspired go go dancers will help keep the beat moving. 9pm.
- 54 at Prohibition Supperclub & Bar – Boogie over to Prohibition Theatre and get down with Houston’s brightest stars, The Moonlight Dolls, for the party of your life. This one-hour show is followed by two hours of disco dancing. Tickets are $20, but you may find limited discounted tickets for $10. 11pm.

- Flea at Silver Street: End of Summer – Feast your eyes on a bevy of completely unique, locally-sourced goods at Flea at Silver Street: End of Summer market. Expect to find a wide range of one-of-a-kind collectibles, fashion, jewelry, vintage, art, mid-century modern furniture, food trucks, live music, and more. Tickets are $5 and children under 12 get in free. 10am to 5pm.
- Riders in the Storm: Alleh Seya Hawk Solo Art Show at Rockstar Gallery | FREE – Rockstar Gallery hosts a solo art show featuring the work of artist Alleh Seya Hawk, inspired by the legendary Riders in the Storm. There will be complimentary light bites and Saint Arnold beer. All Houstonians are invited to come out and support local art. 6pm to 9pm.
- Greater Houston Partnership 2018 Soirée at Hotel ZaZa – The Greater Houston Partnership’s Soirée is an annual gala showcasing Houston as a great global city and nexus of arts, culture, and commerce at Hotel ZaZa. This year’s theme will be Houston Through the Looking Glass, with Alice in Wonderland-like decorations and activities. Tickets start at $275 per person. 7pm to midnight
- Sue Foley in Concert at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck – Canadian blues singer and guitarist, Sue Foley performs at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck. Tickets are $25 in advance; $27 at the door. 7pm.
- Pusha T in Concert at House of Blues – Rapper Pusha T comes to Houston for his Daytona Tour at House of Blues in Downtown. Tickets are $35. 7pm.
- Paul House Album Release Party & Show at Heights Theater – Paul House is a Houston-based singer-songwriter who is releasing his fifth album, “The Heights Sessions.” The concert at the Heights Theater will include special guests Jack Saunders, Lindsey and Claire Justice of Cliffs & Caves, and Lila Griggs. Tickets are $50. 8pm to 10pm.
- John Evans in Concert at Cottonwood | No Cover – Catch a performance from local singer-songwriter John Evans at Cottonwood. 8pm to 10pm.
- Shinyribs in Concert at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – Shake your hips to the sounds of country-soul singer Shinyribs at Miller Outdoor Theatre. 8pm.
- The Late Show: Bathtub Full of Gin at Prohibition Supperclub – Step into the Roaring ’20s, when skirts were short and booze was a secret pleasure. Bathtub Full of Gin is Terrible Enfant Theatre Company’s immersive dance party series, where evocative theatre performances combine with high energy electro swing music. Tickets are $20 for standing; $35 for seated, but limited, discounted $10 standing tickets are available for most shows. 11pm.

- Robbie Rivera at Clé Houston – Dance to house music when DJ Robbie Rivera plays at the Clé Houston lounge in Midtown. Tickets start at $10. 2pm to 8pm.
- Cabaret at Eight at Hamburger Mary’s Houston – Hosted by Alexye’us Paris, this drag show is full of laughs as well as hip-hop and R&B performances at Hamburger Mary’s Houston. A $5 show fee will be added to your bill at the end of the night. 8pm.
- The Greatest Love: A Tribute to Whitney Houston at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – Relive the magic and the voice of the iconic Whitney Houston in The Greatest Love: A Tribute to Whitney Houston at Miller Outdoor Theatre. Starring the breathtaking voice of Belinda Davids with a full band and dancers live on stage, Whitney’s musical legacy is brought to life in this critically acclaimed stage show. 8pm.
