- Houston Astros vs. Oakland Athletics at Minute Maid Park | Friday, April 5 to Sunday, April 7 – Get loud for the Astros when they take the field to play Oakland in a home game at Minute Maid Park. - Tacos over Texas at The Original Ninfa’s on Navigation | Sunday, April 7 – Taste delicious tacos made my chefs from near and far, as Ninfa’s on Navigation presents the Tacos over Texas fundraiser, benefitting The Ninfa Laurenzo Scholarship Fund. During the event, you can sample a specialty taco from each chef, drink beer and margaritas, and listen to live music. Tickets start at $40. 1pm to 4pm.
- Nutcracker Market-Spring Spectacular at NRG Center | Friday, April 12 to Sunday, April 14 – For the first time ever, the Houston Ballet’s beloved Christmastime market makes its warm-weather debut with the Spring Spectacular, an expansive shopping experience that features approximately 160 merchants from across the country. You can shop an assortment of seasonal items, including summer apparel and accessories, novelties, gourmet food, home decor and more. $15. Times vary.
- Japan Festival at Hermann Park | Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14 | FREE – Celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Japan with traditional music, dance, martial arts, and food, as well as Ikebana flower arrangements, tea ceremonies, origami, and bonsai. Times vary.
- 32nd Annual Houston Art Car Parade in Downtown | Saturday, April 13 | FREE – Feast your eyes on the most outlandish, colorful, and creative cars you can imagine as they cruise down the streets of Houston during the world’s largest art car parade at Sam Houston Park. 2pm.
- 7th Annual Houston Barbecue Festival at Humble Civic Center | Sunday, April 14 – Chow down on smoked meats from all of your favorite spots around town as they come together for Houston Barbecue Festival at Humble Civic Center Arena. Featured restaurants include CorkScrew, Feges, Gatlin’s, Killen’s, Pinkerton’s and more. Tickets start at $50 presale; $60 at the door. 1pm to 4pm.
- US Men’s Clay Court Championship Singles Final at River Oaks Country Club | Sunday, April 14 – Cheer on some of the top tennis players in the country when they head to River Oaks Country Club for the US Men’s Clay Court Championship Singles Final. Tickets are $20, but you may find better, cheaper, or hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 2pm.
- Karbach Crawfish Fest at Karbach Brewery | Sunday, April 14 – Hang out on the patio at Karbach Brewery with plenty of tasty mudbugs, live zydeco and brass bands, craft beer and more at Karbach Crawfish Fest, which benefits the Robert Garner Firefighter Foundation. Early bird general admission tickets are limited and cost $15; general admission is $25; VIP tickets cost $135. Noon to 9pm.
- Dance Salad at the Wortham Theater Center | Thursday, April 18 to Saturday, April 20 – Experience up to three evenings of modern dance performances by companies from around the world during Dance Salad Festival at the Hobby Center. The weekend-long festival, which began 27 years ago in Belgium, is now in its 24th year in Houston and features a different collection of dances each night. Tickets start at $25. 7:30pm; guest should note there are different groups that perform each night.
- Chelsea Handler at Revention Music Center | Saturday, April 20 – Bust a gut at a live show by stand-up-comedian and talk show host Chelsea Handler, who tours the country in support of her first memoir, Life Will Be the Death of Me. Tickets start at $68, but you may find better or cheaper seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 8pm.
- Leon Bridges at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion | Friday, April 26 – Sing along to the rhythm and blues of Leon Bridges at a live show in Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Expect to hear hits from his debut album, Coming Home, as well as his latest release, Good Thing. Jess Glynne opens the show. - Galveston Island Wine Festival | Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27 – Sip fine wines, dine at an elegant dinner, run a champagne 5K, and attend a grand food and wine tasting during the tenth annual Galveston Island Wine Festival at Saengerfest Park. Tickets start at $72, varying by event and package. Times vary.
- Cirque de la Symphonie at Jones Hall for the Performing Arts | Friday, April 26 through Sunday, April 28 – Enjoy an evening of breathtaking entertainment with incredible music at a performance by Cirque de la Symphonie in Jones Hall. You’ll spot world-class acrobats, aerial flyers, contortionists, strongmen, jugglers, and tumblers throughout the show. - The Rolling Stones at NRG Stadium | Sunday, April 28 – Get satisfaction from an epic show by the legendary rock group, The Rolling Stones, whose tour stops in Houston’s NRG Stadium this spring. You can jam out to all the classics, including “Start Me Up,” “Gimme Shelter,” “Paint It Black” and more. - Little Shop of Horrors at Stages Repertory Company | Through Sunday, April 28 – Revel in all of the campy fun of the sci-fi musical hit, Little Shop of Horrors, during a showing of the play in Stages Repertory Theatre.
