June brings all kinds of tasty ways to cool down and get into the summer mood. Unwind with wine and tapas or burgers and beer, check out an inaugural vegan fest, enjoy an outdoor luau and celebrate an annual wine and food festival.

Top 12 Food & Drink Events in Houston: June 2018
- Houston Vegandale Food Drink Festival at Sam Houston Park | Saturday, June 2 – This Toronto-born vegan food festival is coming to Houston, offering the 100% vegan food and ethically-minded goods and services. Tickets are $10 early bird, with prices increasing. 11am to 7pm.
- 4th Annual Rioja Wine & Tapas Festival at The Corinthian | Saturday, June 2 – Enjoy an unforgettable Spanish wine and tapas experience, with the main event featuring 50-plus wineries and winemakers from Rioja, along with celebrated chefs preparing tapas and live music showcasing the true Spanish culture. The lineup of chefs includes David Cordúa (Américas), Jean-Philippe Gaston (Izakaya), Luis Roger (BCN Taste & Tradition), and more. Tickets are $60 per person, including all food and beverage. A portion of the ticket proceeds benefit the Piggy Bank and funding for Houston farmers affected by hurricane Harvey. 1pm to 5pm.
- Chefs for Paws at Canopy | Sunday, June 3 – Join top local culinary talent for a multicourse meal benefitting Rescued Pets Movement. The evening begins with cocktails and appetizers, followed by a seated dinner from participating chefs like Canopy’s Claire Smith, Roost’s Kevin Naderi, and Ben McPherson of the upcoming BOH Pasta. Tickets (limited) are $150. 5pm cocktails; 6pm dinner.
- Summer Dinner Series at The Dunlavy | Wednesday, June 6 and Wednesday, June 20 – Set in a beautiful glass treehouse at Buffalo Bayou Park, The Dunlavy is launching a Summer Dinner Series, held every other Wednesday beginning June 6. Guests can enjoy a meal in the chandelier-lit dining room for $30 per person, with the first dinner showcasing lasagna and the next rocking roast chicken. 5pm to 9pm.
- Throwdown Texas Burger & Music Fest at Town Green Park | Saturday, June 9 – This third annual burger throwdown combines and food music festival with a cooking competition to see which restaurant makes the city’s best burger. Enjoy a day featuring live music, burgers and beers, a kid zone, family-friendly activities, shopping, artisan vendors, and plenty of fun. Early bird tickets are $6 for general admission (but you may find limited comp tickets where you just pay the ticketing fee); $60 for VIP. Noon to 9pm.
- Saint Arnold 24th Anniversary Celebrations at Saint Arnold Brewery | Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10 – Houston’s oldest brewery kicks things off with a 24th Anniversary Party and Local & Independent Texas Music Showcase on Saturday, with the 100% Texas lineup featuring acts like Trae The Truth, Los Skarnales, and Wild Moccasins. Ticket options include a $35 Saint Package with admission, two beers and a special commemorative 24th Anniversary glass; or $10 general admission tickets, with beer will be available for purchase. On Sunday, guests are invited to a Special Rare Cellar Tasting, where they can sample a wide range of one-of-a-kind selections and aged brews. Tickets are $60 and include two-ounce samples of each beer, a Houston Dairymaids cheese tasting table and anniversary pint glass. Hours vary by day.
- Wine & Food Week in the Woodlands | Monday, June 4 through Sunday, June 10 – Guests can expect over 500 wines, 75 chefs, and scores of events at this week-long festival. Events include the H-E-B Wine Walk at Market Street, Sips, Suds & Tacos at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center, The Wine Rendezvous Grand Tasting & Chef Showcase and many more, including seminars, premier tastings, food samplings, outdoor events, and luncheons. This year’s theme is “Taste the Love”, celebrating flavors from all over the globe and Houston’s exploding foodie scene. Master sommelier Guy Stout and season 7 champion of MasterChef Shaun O’Neale will be this year’s Wine Wizard and Wizard Gourmet of ceremonies. Times vary daily.
- Let’s Luau! at Night Heron | Sunday, June 10 – This Agricole Hospitality stunner is throwing its first party, offering tiki drinks, live music, and killer food in Montrose. Guests can dig into Hawaiian-style pork loin alongside the musical stylings from the Will Horn Trio. The Luau Plate will be $35 and includes pork loin, corn, green mango salad and grilled pineapple, plus one drink ticket that can be redeemed for Galveston Island Brewing Tiki Wheat beer or a tiki cocktail special. The bar will be open, but the kitchen will only serve the luau plate. 4pm to 8pm.
- Thursday Night Take Over at Fluff Bake Bar | Thursday, June 14 – Fluff Bake Bar owner Rebecca Masson has switched up her popular “Dinner with My Friends” series, making it a “Thursday Night Take Over.” The events showcase a new guest chef each month, with this month featuring chef Richie Nakano of San Francisco’s IDK Concepts. Each guest chef will create a menu of three to four items available a la carte and Masson will create a special dessert to compliment the menu, with optional wine pairings and specialty beer from Saint Arnold. No tickets or reservations are required, but four “chef’s table” seats will be available for purchase each month. Ten percent of all proceeds will benefit Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry program. 6pm to 9pm.
- South Texas Backyard Grilling Class at Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen | Saturday, June 16 – Chef-owner Sylvia Casares will be grilling out at her next cooking class, teaching guests how to make beef fajitas, homestyle potato salad, flour tortillas, salsa, Mexican-style grilled corn, rice, and beans. Tickets are $65 per person and include all materials, the class, and a meal. 1pm to 4pm.
- Father’s Day Fried Chicken Party at Revival Market | Sunday, June 17 – Celebrate Dad with a fried chicken parking lot shindig at the Heights neighborhood favorite, Revival Market. The eatery will have live music from the Will Van Horn Trio, beer from Spindletap, games for the whole family, and of course, fried bird. Plates can be purchased in advance for $35, including three pieces, corn salad, mac and cheese, sorghum corn bread, seasonal cobbler; Kids plates are $10 and include a one-piece, mac and cheese, and seasonal cobbler. 3pm to 7pm.
- Japanese Whiskey 101 at Public Services Wine & Whisky | Saturday, June 23 – Get an introduction to the unique perspective of Japanese Whiskey. This class will focus on Suntory and Nikka (both blends and single malt whiskeys up to 18 years of age). Tickets are $65 plus tax and include the class, tastings, and snacks. 2pm.
