• Broadway Across America presents Funny Girl at Hobby Center | Tuesday to Sunday – With one of the most iconic scores of all time by Jule Styne and Bob Merrill, plus an updated book from Harvey Fierstein based on the original classic by Isobel Lennart, this musical tells the story of the legendary Fanny Brice, who rose from the Lower East Side of New York to stardom. Featuring songs like “Don’t Rain on My Parade” and “People,” it’s a show beloved the world over for decades. $35 and up. Showtimes vary.
• Ice House Radio at Brasil | Wednesday to Friday | FREE – Close out the week with three straight nights of live radio broadcasts from a deep roster of Houston DJs spinning their favorites on the back patio of Brasil in Montrose. 7pm to 11pm.
• Jeremiah Watkins at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday & Saturday – The comic comes to The Riot for three shows across back-to-back nights, delivering laughs with a signature style seen in specials like Family Reunion and Daddy. $25 and up. Times vary.
• Performing Arts Houston presents 5th Annual Mariachi Festival at Wortham Center | Friday to Sunday – Celebrate the creativity and enduring legacy of Mariachi music and Hispanic culture as this popular festival brings some of the biggest names in the genre to Houston, including Mariachi Mariposas, Mariachi 7 Leguas, and others from Houston and Mexico. $19 and up. • Out Of The Strong, Something Sweet Opening Reception at The Jung Center of Houston | FREE – DJ Morrow, a Houston-based balloon twister–turned–fine artist, who uses intricately detailed balloon sculptures to create dark imagery heavily laden with symbolism, presents Out Of The Strong, Something Sweet at The Jung Center of Houston. 3pm to 6pm.
