  • Bette Midler in Concert at the Toyota Center | Monday, May 18 – Actress and singer Bette Midler will hit the stage at Toyota Center during her summer Divine Intervention Tour. This performance will be her only in Texas for the duration of the tour. Tickets start at $42, but you may find seats on the TicketNetwork or Ticket Monster resale sites.
  • Houston Astros vs. Oakland Athletics Series at Minute Maid Park | Monday, May 18 to Wednesday, May 20 – Cheer the Astros on to a home victory during this three-game series at Minute Maid Park. Tickets start at $10, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the TicketNetwork or Ticket Monster resale sites. 7:10pm Monday and Tuesday; 1:10pm Wednesday.
  • The Shatterproof Challenge at DoubleTree Galleria | Tuesday, May 19 – Rappel down 26 stories of the DoubleTree hotel exterior during this extreme event. Participants are required to raise funds that support Shatterproof’s fight against addiction. You must be at least 110lbs to rappel. $55. 8am to 5pm.
  • Newsies at the Hobby Center | Tuesday, May 19 to Sunday, May 24 – The theatrical Broadway hit Newsies is coming to a stage near you. Being performed at the Hobby Center, this two time Tony Award-winning musical is inspired by the Newsboys Strike of 1899. Tickets start at $30, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the TicketNetwork or Ticket Monster resale sites. 7:30pm Tuesday to Thursday; 8pm Friday; 2pm and 8 pm Saturday; 2pm and 7:30pm Sunday.
  • Ciara in Concert at House of Blues | Wednesday, May 20 – See R&B singer Ciara perform songs from her latest album Jackie live at the House of Blues. Tickets start at $27.50, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the TicketNetwork or Ticket Monster resale sites. 7pm.
  • Destination Design at West Ave | Wednesday, May 20 | FREE to Attend – West Ave hosts an evening of cocktails, fashion and design. Retailers like Ligne Roset, Jonathan Adler, Flor Store and more will provide interior design inspiration while you snack on bites from Del Frisco’s Grille, Eddie V’s and Cru. Sip on champagne and complete a scavenger hunt for your chance to win door prizes. RSVP to [email protected]. 6pm to 8pm.
  • Carnival Houston at Various Locations | Thursday, May 21 to Sunday, May 24 – Carnival Houston kicks off with a Masquerade Bash at The De Gaulle, and continues through the weekend with events like the Neon Paint Party, Street Parade and Festival downtown, and Picnic + Games on Sunday. Times, locations and prices vary.
  • Summer Tribute at CityCentre | Starts Thursday, May 21 | FREE – Hear from five tribute bands in five days during the Summer Tribute Series at CityCentre. The Lineup includes Legendary Rhythm Bandits, Rubber Biscuits, Already Gone and The Spicolis and concludes with a concert from The Fab 5 on Monday. 6pm to 9pm Thursday; 7pm to 10pm Friday to Sunday; 4pm to 7pm Monday.
  • Kenny Chesney in Concert at BBVA Compass Stadium | Friday, May 22 –Kick off your shoes and summer with a country music concert from Kenny Chesney, Jake Owen and Chase Rice. Start the day off by sipping on drink specials and playing in the sand during the Big Revival Beach Party at Lucky’s Pub and then BYOB to tailgate at BBVA Compass Stadium before the show. Tailgating passes start at $22; concert tickets start at $37.50, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the TicketNetwork or Ticket Monster resale sites. Beach party starts at 10am; tailgate starts at 3pm; show starts at 7pm.
  • ComicPalooza at George R. Brown Convention Center | Starts Friday, May 22 – Dive into four days of panels, cosplay, gaming and programming during ComicPalooza. Get autographs from and snap photos with guests like wrestlers Booker T and Sting, and Gotham stars Cory Michael Smith and Camren Bicondova, and more. $25 Friday; $35 Saturday and Sunday; $60 weekend pass; $10 child day pass; $12 child weekend pass. 10am to 2am daily.
  • PaintJam Concert Experience at Jones Hall | Friday, May 22 to Sunday, May 24 – Houston speed painter Dan Dunn will create a multi-media work of art live during a concert from the Houston Symphony. You will have a chance to win one of the pieces during a post concert live auction. $25 to $141. 8pm.
  • Drake in Concert at Toyota Center | Sunday, May 24 – Catch Drake perform at the Toyota Center on his Jungle Tour. First round tickets are sold out, but you may find seats on the TicketNetwork or Ticket Monster resale sites. 7:30pm.
