The East End is rich in history and culture, as it plays home to two of Houston’s oldest Hispanic neighborhoods, Magnolia Park, and Second Ward. Offering a mix of the old and the new, this vibrant neighborhood offers plenty to do, including some seriously tasty brunch options.

Where to Brunch in the East End
- Andes Cafe – Hit this South American kitchen for brunch offerings that cover the entire continent, with a Peruvian desayuno featuring steamed spinach tamales and pan con chicharron; cachapas, a Venezuelan dish of fresh sweet corn pancakes stuffed with cheese; and huevos con tomate straight from Colombia. - El Tiempo Cantina – Start brunch early at this Tex-Mex haven from Chef Domenic Laurenzo, where breakfast plates come in the form of huevos y tamales, huevos y carne asada, huevos y enchilada, and pecan pancakes (con heuvos, of course). Saturday and Sunday 9am to 1pm. Click here for directions.
- Ninfa’s on Navigation – The original Ninfa’s may be known for its indelible beef fajitas, but you’d be remiss not to check out the brunch offerings, too. Start with an eye-opening cocktail, like a Horchata Borracha or Bloody Maria, both made with tequila blanco; then dig into carnitas hash & eggs, red chile-pork posole or the desayuno Mexicano, with grilled skirt steak, over-easy eggs, roasted potatoes and onions, and guajillo sauce. - Villa Arcos – This East End institution is open bright and early, offering what many believe to be the best breakfast tacos in Houston. Get fresh tortillas stuffed with chicharrones, pork sausage and egg, and weekend-only barbacoa, or go for “super,” filled with egg, potatoes, beans and cheese, and your choice of bacon or chorizo.
