• Ziwe at Hobby Center | Monday, October 30 – Just days after releasing her debut book of essays, Black Friend, the comedian, writer and actress headlines a night at Hobby Center. Emerging from social media, the talented host of her self-titled late-night variety sketch show is known for her sharp satire and salient commentary on race and politics in America. $54.50 and up. 7:30pm.
• John Mayer in Concert at Toyota Center | Monday, October 30 – The guitar virtuoso is embarking on a solo acoustic tour, ending October in Clutch City with a performance of songs on piano and electric guitar, too. He’ll be bringing JP Saxe with him in support. $59 and up. 7:30pm.
• Boo Bash at Katy Mills Mall | Halloween, Tuesday, October 31 | FREE – Bring your ghouls, goblins, and little monsters to the AMC Plaza as Katy Mills Mall hosts a Boo Bash with trick or treating in a family-friendly environment. 5pm.
• Halloween Boo Bash at Humble Civic Center | Tuesday, Halloween, October 31 | FREE – This fourth annual event features live performances by local dance and drill teams, face painting, inflatables, a costume contest and plenty of candy. 5pm to 9pm.
• Halloween at Numbers Nightclub | Halloween, Tuesday, October 31 – The annual tradition continues in Montrose with Halloween night dancing and surprises, plus more than $1,000 in cash and prizes for the costume contest, and more. Cover charge at the door. 9pm to 2am.
• Pearland Restaurant Weeks | Wednesday, November 1 to Sunday, November 5 | Ongoing – Throughout the month of November, the growing restaurant scene in Pearland will showcase curated menus and specialty offerings, with a portion of all orders going to support Pearland Neighborhood Center. Fixed-price menus are $29 for 2-course breakfasts and lunches; $35 for 3-course dinners. Times and locations vary.
• Candlelight Open Air: Día de los Muertos Mariachi Concert at Houston Arboretum | Thursday, November 2 – Adelaide Pilar Band heads to the nature center at Memorial Park for an evening mariachi concert by candlelight that features traditional Mexican folk songs, songs by Juan Gabriel and Julieta Venegas, and more. $55 and up. 6:30pm and 8:45pm.
• Luis Miguel in Concert at Toyota Center | Thursday, November 2 – The legendary Mexican pop star, with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and known around the globe for his pop, bolero and mariachi tunes, comes to Houston for a live performance. $116 and up. 8pm.
• Night Market 2023 at Asia Society Texas Center | Friday, November 3 | FREE – The popular annual event returns to the Museum District, offering a host of family-friendly activities including a curated marketplace, games and cultural installations, an Otaku Alley highlighting all things manga, anime and cosplay, sumo wrestling demonstrations, a Japanese-style carnival, and more. Free for outdoors; some indoor events cost $5 and up. 6pm to 10pm.
• Performing Arts Houston presents An Evening With David Sedaris at Jones Hall | Friday, November 3 – The author and satirist, known for Me Talk PrettyOne Day, Holidays on Ice, Naked, Calypso and other works, comes to town to discuss his observations about life and his work. $29 and up. 7:30pm.
• Le Fête du Champagne at Multiple Locations | Friday, November 3 & Saturday, November 4 – Making its Houston debut, La Fête du Champagne celebrates and showcases the region’s top producers and wines, with events including a Champagne Pierre Paillard Lunch at Navy Blue, Champagne Salon & Champagne Delamotte Dinner at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse Downtown, and both a La Fête Tasting and Gala Dinner at Bludorn. $165 and up. Times vary.
• Park to Port Bike Ride at Hermann Park’s Bayou Parkland | Saturday, November 4 – This 20-mile round-trip bike ride takes cyclists from Hermann Park’s Bayou Parkland along the Bayou Greenway trail all the way to Mason Park, near the Port of Houston. Start your day by exploring the city and meeting other cyclists. $40. 8am.
• Houston Puptopia Festival at Brazos River Park | Saturday, November 4 – This dog-centric festival features larger-than-life photo opportunities, live stunt dog performances, a dog day spa, Pawground activities, vendors, a K9 Lounge, and more. Bring your furry friend and enjoy the fun. $35 and up. 10am to 5pm.
• Hands-On Houston Family Festival at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft | Saturday, November 4 | FREE – The annual Hands-On Houston Family Festival celebrates wood crafts and the fall exhibition, Tree of Life, with hands-on art-making, artist demonstrations, free trees, and more. Head to the Museum District to explore your creativity and learn about some amazing works. 11am to 3pm.
• 10th Annual Houston Afrifest at Houston Christian University | Saturday, November 4 – Celebrate the rich tapestry of African cultures at this festival that features a market with local and international vendors, and showcases the arts, music, fashion, and foods from across the region—all amidst the warmth and hospitality of Houston’s African community. $5 and up. 11am to 7pm. 
• 3rd Annual Houston Día de los Muertos Parade & Festival at Sam Houston Park in Downtown | Saturday, November 4 | FREE – Venture downtown for this evening of live music, a parade procession from 7pm to 8pm, delicious concessions, arts and crafts, and more. Free to participate in the parade, but traditional attire—full of pageantry and beauty—is recommended. 2pm to 10pm.
• ROCO presents Unchambered: Rachel Jordan at the Historic Eldorado Ballroom | Saturday, November 4 – The acclaimed violinist offers a vibrant, intimate program honoring the memory and legacy of her father, New Orleans-based musician Kidd Jordan, an internationally acclaimed saxophonist who once played at the Ballroom in the 1970s. Pay-what-you-wish; suggested price of $45. 5pm.
• Dream with Alebrijes Fall Festival at Museum of Fine Arts Houston | Sunday, November 5 | FREE – Celebrating the Mexican folk art tradition of alebrijes and spirit guides, this outdoor fest in the Cullen Sculpture Garden unveils large-scale artworks by six artists, plus a lineup of tasty food vendors, lotería, film screenings and more. 1pm to 5pm.
• Culinary Adventure: An Ancient Meal at Moody Center for the Arts | Sunday, November 5 – Head to the Rice University campus, where you can feast like an ancient Sumerian.
