  • Bayou City Outdoors’ 8th Annual Travel Party at Hughes Hangar | Thursday, January 28 | FREE to Attend – Join the outgoing people of Bayou City Outdoors and learn about their 2016 road trips and international adventures over drinks and good conversation. 6:30pm to 9pm.
  • Mardi Gras Galveston | Starts Friday, January 29 – Kick off the Mardi Gras festivities with balcony parties, concerts, parades, a 5k and more around Galveston. Time, prices and locations vary.
  • Choco Loco 5k in Uptown Park | Saturday, January 30 – Race through Uptown Park in a 5k or 10k (there’s also a 1k run for the kiddos) and you’ll be treated to lots of chocolate. The post race party includes a chocolate fountain, live music and other goodies from local vendors. Registration starts at $15. 7:15am.

  • Trumpet Flower Painting Party at Market Square Park | Saturday, January 30 | FREE – Put your stamp on Patrick Renner’s next piece of public art for Houston, “Trumpet Flower”, during this painting party at Market Square Park. Noon to 4pm.
  • Houston Press Artopia at Winter Street Studios | Saturday, January 30 – Artopia brings locally created art, music, food and fashion under one roof for an epic one-night event at Winter Street Studios. $55; limited discounted $35 tickets available. 8pm to 11pm.
  • Vintique Flea: Winter Edition at Silver Street Studios | Saturday, January 30 and Sunday, January 31 – Discover one-of-a-kind vintage goods for your home and wardrobe at the return of the popular seasonal market.   • The Harlem Globetrotters at NRG Stadium | Saturday, January 30 and Sunday, January 31 – The Harlem Globetrotters are heading back to Houston where they’ll be performing a hilarious show full of tricks as part of their 90th Anniversary World Tour. $52 to $62; limited discounted $28 to $33 tickets available. Saturday 2pm and 7pm; Sunday 2pm.
  • One Pot Showdown at Saint Arnold | Sunday, January 31 – See what teams come up with when they’re challenged to a one pot cook off using Saint Arnold beers. This delicious fundraiser benefits Kids’ Meals. 1pm.
  • Europe in Concert at House of Blues | Sunday, January 31 – Cue “The Final Countdown;” the band Europe is coming to town to perform at House of Blues. Tickets start at $27.50, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 7pm.
