- June Burger of the Month at Hopdoddy Burger Bar | All month long – Hopdoddy Burger Bar’s June Burger of the Month is the Double Stack Comeback, a double-decker piled sky high with two certified Piedmontese burger patties, cheese, Alabama comeback sauce, lettuce, pickles and diced white onions on a sesame seed bun. Get it all month long at several locations around Houston.
- Latin Restaurant Weeks | Tuesday, June 1 through Monday, June 14 – In an effort to promote Houston’s Latin and Latin-owned culinary businesses (especially important this year as restaurants continue on the road to postpandemic recovery), the two-week Latin Restaurant Weeks celebration returns, with more than 45 local restaurants offering signature items and prix fixe options ranging from $15 to $50 and available for dine-in, takeout or delivery depending on the restaurant. This year’s lineup includes spots like La Fisheria, Cafe Piquet, Tony’s Tex Mex, and newcomers from La Olla to Paisas Chicken.
- 6th Annual Heads ‘N’ Tails Crawfish Fest at Grooves of Houston | Saturday, June 5 – Featuring DJ Mannie Fresh, Brian Jack & The Zydeco Gamblers, and some of Houston’s finest DJs, plus mudbugs, food, and drink available for purchase, the 6th Annual Heads ‘N’ Tails Crawfish Fest is going down all day at Grooves of Houston in Third Ward. Get four pounds of crawfish for $20. General admission is free until 4pm (free ticket required), $10 after with expedited entry; VIP packages available. 11am to 10pm.
- Crawfish Boil at B.B. Lemon | Saturday, June 5 – Berg Hospitality’s own NOLA native, Jeff Baron, will be cooking up crawfish on the patio alongside live DJ music and the kitchen’s regular brunch menu. Get the mudbugs served with potatoes, sausage and corn for $12.99 per pound (two-pound minimum). Reservations are recommended and can be made by phone at 713-554-1809 or on OpenTable. 11am to 3pm.
- Virtual Kids’ Cooking Class with Underbelly Hospitality | Sunday, June 6 – Chef Ben Snellenberger, sous chef at Georgia James and new parent, will be hosting a kids’ cooking class in time to learn some new skills for summer. On the menu is Chris Shepherd’s Bacon Sausage to make pigs in a blanket, alongside other snacks like Yogurt Ranch Dip & Fresh Farm Veggies, and Cosmic Brownies. Kits are $45 and feeds 3 to 4 kids; available for pick-up on Saturday, June 5 at Underbelly Pantry between noon and 3pm. Virtual class begins Sunday at 1pm.
- Houston Food & Wine Alliance presents Fish House Punch Competition at Be More Pacific | Tuesday, June 8 – Teaming up with Buffalo Trace and Taste Network, the Houston Food & Wine Alliance will host its Houston edition of the Fish House spirits challenge at Be More Pacific, where four talented barkeeps will compete to make the best “Fish House Punch.” The celebration will also include Bourbon from Buffalo Trace, sustainable fish and plant-based bites from top local chefs, and wines from two of Spain’s most famous wine regions, Ribera y Rueda. Tickets (limited to 100 guests) are $50, with proceeds supporting the Alliance’s culinary grant and educational programs in Gulf Coast Texas. 5pm to 7:30pm.
- Border Style Enchilada Class at Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen | Saturday, June 19 – Owner Sylvia Casares is ready to spread enchilada knowledge with a hands-on, fun cooking class held at the 1140 Eldridge Parkway location. Participants will learn how to make beef enchiladas, Lubbock enchiladas (West Texas–style), and Hidalgo red enchiladas (carnitas with very spicy red sauce). $65 per person. - Father’s Day at Brennan’s | Sunday, June 20 – Brennan’s multi-course prix fixe Creole brunch is an excellent way to treat dad this Father’s Day. Look out for favorites from seafood gumbo and snapping turtle soup to crawfish cakes and steak & eggs. Call 713-522-9711 for reservations. 10am to 2pm.
- Paint Your Pet Night at Eureka Heights Brew Co. | Friday, June 25 – Aubrie Williams of HeARTworks will lead the way in a beer-fueled Paint Your Pet Night at Eureka Heights. Send in a photo of your pet and you’ll arrive to a pre-sketched color-by-number style canvas to fill in as you sip your favorite suds. Tickets are $55 and include an 11″x 14″ wrapped canvas, personalized paint palette, all the materials you’ll need to create your masterpiece, and your first brew on-the-house. 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
- Make & Take: Asian Dumplings at Central Market Cooking School | Tuesday, June 29 – Learn to make (and sample) a variety of Asian dumplings, from chicken and veggie siu mai to pork and shrimp wonton at the Central Market Cooking School. Instructors will offer tips on steaming, frying, and boiling the tasty bites, and the fillings and wrappers will be ready and waiting as you learn to fold and create several dipping sauces. $65. 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
