Walk on the Wild Side! at Nature Discovery Center | Saturday, January 23 – Take the family on nature walks and spy on the animals in the park. $5 per family for nonmembers; free for Nature Discovery Center members. 10am.

Arbor Day at the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center | FREE – Join the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center for crafts, planting demos, activities, tree seedling giveaways and more during Arbor Day. 10am to 2pm.
- Houston Astros FanFest at Minute Maid Park | FREE with RSVP – Let your kids run the bases, snap a photo in the dugout, do some batting practice, get autographs from players and more during the Houston Astros FanFest. Admission is free, but vouchers are required. 11am to 4pm.
- Red Lantern Project at Border USA|MX Earthwork – Take action against human trafficking during this event that’s part artwork activation, part film screening and ends with a lantern release. $13.29 including ticket fees. 5pm to 8pm.
- SITE Houston Exhibition Closing Party at the Silos on Sawyer | CANCELLED – UPDATE 1/23/16: This event has been cancelled by the City of Houston due to a reported electrical issue that couldn’t be fixed in time for the event. The organizers plan to reschedule it. Explore works from 30 local artists that currently occupy the Silos on Sawyer Street as part of the SITE Exhibition. 5pm to 11pm.
- ReelMusic at HCC Spring Branch | FREE to Attend – Kick the evening off with a reception followed by a jazz and blues jam session with the pros. This event is part of the ReelAbilities: Film & Arts Festival. Registration required. 6:30pm to 10pm.
- Badfish in Concert at House of Blues – Sing along to songs from Sublime’s self titled album as tribute band Badfish performs them live at House of Blues. Tickets start at $20. 7pm.
- Southern Twang at MATCH – Gear up for rodeo season with this country variety show at MATCH. $30; limited discounted comped and $15 tickets available. 7:30pm.

- Houston Rockets vs. Dallas Mavericks at Toyota Center – Cheer for the Rockets as they take on the Mavs at home. Tickets start at $20, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 2:30pm.
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II Pizza Party at Alamo Drafthouse Mason Park – Fill up on pizza while you watch the second film in the TMNT series at Alamo Drafthouse. Unlimited pizza passes will be available for purchase. $9. 6pm.
- Field of Light at Discovery Green | FREE – Check out Bruce Munro’s Field of Light installation – which illuminates Discovery Green with bulbs and stems connected by fiber optic cables. Dusk to 11pm.
- Colin Hay in Concert at Wortham Center – Listen along as Colin Hay sings and performs witty stand-up during this live show at the Wortham Center. Tickets start at $45. 7pm.
