- 18th Annual Run in the Park at Hermann Park – Start your Saturday off with at this event where running and exercise enthusiasts of all abilities can come out, explore the park, and enjoy the trails. The event starts and ends at the Molly Ann Smith Plaza, near the Jones Reflection Pool, and includes a post-run party with food, drinks, music and more. $15 to $30. 8am.
- Galveston Island Brewing 5K at Galveston Island Brewing Co. – Benefiting the Galveston Island Humane Society, this morning walk/run will send people down a flat course along the seawall, starting and ending at the brewery. Stick around for the post-race party with food trucks and a commemorative pint glass. Registration is $65. 8am.
- Buffalo Bayou East Wellness Walk at Guadalupe Plaza Park | FREE – Join Buffalo Bayou Partnership for a Wellness Walk along Buffalo Bayou East led by Laura Conely, founder of Urban Paths Wellness Coaching where folks will discover the historic East End neighborhood and learn more about the Buffalo Bayou East Master Plan. 9am to 11am.
- Oktoberfest Art Market at the King’s Head Pub | No Cover – In West Houston, this pet-friendly market brings together many local artists, farmers and makers to dole out goods in leather and metal, plus soaps, shoes, multi-media artwork, and more. Stick around for live music, delicious bites and tasty suds. 3pm to 9pm.
- Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical! at MATCH – Main Street Theater for Youth presents this musical for kids based on the Caldecott Honor award-winning book. In this tale, when a bus driver takes a break from the route, a very unlikely volunteer springs up to take his place, a pigeon. Tickets range from $18 to $228. Shows at 12:30pm and 3:30pm.
- Pitmaster Party: Wild Game Edition at Dozier’s BBQ – Dozier’s pitmaster Jim Buchanan is rounding up some of his closest industry friends for a special outdoor event including pitmasters Anthony McDonald of Dozier’s and guest cook Robert Lerma; Patrick Feges of Feges BBQ (Houston); Quy Hoang of Blood Bros. Barbecue (Bellaire) and more. Each will feature a dish using wild game meat, and the party will also feature live music on Dozier’s deck. $75 and include entry and samples from each bbq spot; beverages can be purchased separately. 11am to 4pm.
- Food Truck Rally at B-52 Brewing | No Cover – Enjoy some local eats when B-52 Brewing hosts various food trucks including Mingo’s Latin Kitchen, The Shed BBQ, Funnelocity and more. Noon.
