- 8th Annual Trafigura Run for the House at Sam Houston Park – Run or walk for a good cause in the USATF-certified 10k/5k or the 5k Family Walk (dogs welcome) in Downtown Houston benefiting Ronald McDonald House Houston. $35; free for ages 7 and under or 70 and older. 8am.
- Nature Revealed: Bones at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center – In this class at the Houston Arboretum (ideal for ages 13 and up), you’ll learn about what bones are, the major groups of bones, and their most important functions. Tickets start at $20. 9:30am to 11:30am.
- Bossbabes Who Boot Camp & Brunch at New Heights Fitness – Join in a workout for women, with scaleable routines that are suited for all levels. Afterwards, mix and mingle over light bites and mimosas and make some new friends. $30, limited discounted $15 tickets are available. 10am.
- DesignCraft Holiday Market at Market Square Park | FREE – Local artists, crafters, creatives, and vendors will gather at Market Square Park for the outdoor DesignCraft Holiday Market. 10am.
- A Grinch Christmas Concert at Jones Hall – Bring the family to Jones Hall to watch the Houston Symphony and local high school singers tell the story of the Grinch. Tickets start at $25. 10am and 11:30am.
- Kids 1st Saturday at The Breakfast Klub – The Breakfast Klub pulls out all the stops for your little ones at this monthly event featuring a moonwalk, face painting, and arts and crafts. 10am.
- A Katy Old-Fashioned Christmas Festival in Historic Downtown Katy – Shop for produce, art, antiques, gifts, jewelry, and handmade goods while the kiddos play in 50,000 pounds of snow at this festival in Katy. 10am to 5pm.
- Hands-On Houston: Eco Printing at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft – Resident artist Molly Koehn will lead this class in eco printing using flowers, roots, and natural dyes at HCCC. 11am to 3pm.
- Frosty the Snowman Musical at Salem Lutheran – Frosty and his young friends learn valuable lessons about the true meaning of friendship when the family musical Frosty the Snowman comes to Salem Lutheran in Houston. Tickets start at $10, but you may find limited discounted tickets for $5. 11am and 1:30pm.
- First Saturday Arts Market in The Heights – Browse artwork and enjoy delicious bites and live music at the First Saturday Arts Market in the Heights. 11am to 5pm.
- Jingle All the Way Day at Burning Bones Press – Shop works from Burning Bones Press studio artists at this holiday print sale. Noon to 5pm.
- Tamale Festival Houston at Navigation Esplanade – Kick off tamale season with a tamale eating contest, live music, festival eats, Tex-Mex favorites, and lots of tamales at Navigation Esplanade. Tickets start at $10. Noon to 10pm.
- 9th Annual Craftidote Handmade Market at Antidote Coffee – Antidote Coffee in The Heights hosts the ninth edition of their annual holiday market, featuring t-shirts, ceramics, textiles, arts, crafts, jewelry and more. Noon to 5pm.
- Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl in Midtown – Bust out your ugliest holiday sweater and head to The Dogwood to start this Midtown pub crawl with drink specials for all who dress for the occasion. $12; limited comped tickets and discounted $5 tickets available. 3pm.
- SWAC Football Championship at NRG Stadium – Cheer loud and see which football team comes out as the champion of the Southwestern Athletic Conference at this game at NRG Stadium. Tickets start at $11, but better, cheaper seats might be available on the TicketNetwork resale market. 3pm.
- Cocktails & Covers: The Chocolate Orb’s ’80s Bash at Warehouse Live – Dance to the sounds of the ’80s, with covers of everything from Madonna to The Cure, at a rocking concert. All proceeds go to support Toys for Tots. $20. 7pm to 11:30pm.
- Reckless at Studio 101 – Follow Rachel’s journey from a peaceful Christmas Eve to a fearful escape, in this dark holiday comedy by Craig Lucas at Studio 101. Tickets start at $17, but limited comped and discounted $16 tickets are available. 7:30pm.
- Greetings! at Salem Lutheran – See what happens when Andy brings his Jewish atheist fiance Randi home to meet his very Catholic parents on Christmas Eve in this touching play at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church. $18; limited discounted $9 tickets available. 8pm.

- Sunday Streets Houston in the Energy Corridor | FREE – Get active on Eldridge Parkway between Briar Forest Drive and Enclave Parkway, where the street will be blocked off from cars, leaving it wide open for cycling, dancing, walking, and mingling with friends and family. Noon to 4pm.
- Chimney Rock Market in West Houston | FREE – Held on the first and third Sunday of the month near Anderson Park, Chimney Rock Market showcases art, gifts, produce, artisanal food and refreshments. Noon to 4pm.
- HOU-ATX BBQ Throwdown at Saint Arnold Brewery – See if Austin or Houston has the best BBQ at this throwdown between some of the best joints from Austin, including Brotherton’s Black Iron Barbecue and Valentina’s Tex Mex BBQ, and Houston including Gatlin’s, Killen’s, and the Pit Room. A panel of judges will crown a winner, but you’ll have a say in who wins people’s choice. Tickets start at $80. 1pm to 4pm.
- Barks & Brews Adoption Event at 8th Wonder Brewery – Play with adoptable puppies while you enjoy a beer at this Barks & Brews adoption event at 8th Wonder Brewery. 1pm to 4pm.
- The Best Christmas Pageant Ever at A.D. Players Theater – Based on the children’s book, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is a hilarious tale of when the rowdy Herdman children get cast in the annual Christmas pageant at their church and wreak havoc on the show. Tickets start at $20, but limited discounted $16 tickets are available. 2pm.
- A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story of Christmas at the Alley Theatre – Don’t be a Scrooge! Bring those who mean the most to you to Alley Theatre for a performance of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol. Tickets start at $26. 2:30pm.
- Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley at Main Street Theater – Start your holiday festivities off early with this production from Main Street Theater. Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley is the sequel to Jane Austen’s novel Pride and Prejudice and follows the family’s gathering for Christmas. Tickets start at $42. 3pm.
- Lady Gaga in Concert at Toyota Center – Superstar Lady Gaga is bringing her World Tour to Houston for a performance at Toyota Center promoting her album Joanne. Tickets start at $46, but you may find cheaper or better seats on SeatsForEveryone’s online resale market. 7:30pm.
- Brian Newman in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – Lady Gaga’s musical collaborator, singer, and trumpeter Brian Newman will keep the entertainment flowing at this after-hours show in the Heights. Tickets start at $10. 10:30pm.
