• International Quilt Festival at George R. Brown Convention Center | Daily – Eye-popping works of art, seminars, guest speakers, shopping and more are part of this annual festival, dedicated to the art of quilting. $15. Times vary.
• Houston Fringe Festival at MATCH | Daily – Back after a two-year pandemic hiatus, this multi-day exploration of plays and performing arts offers world premieres of cutting-edge pieces by emerging and established artists. Also back is the festival-favorite closing night showcase, “Anything Goes.” $15. Showtimes vary.
• Lone Star Rally at the Historic Strand District in Galveston | Daily – Head to Galveston for this weekend spotlighting motorcycles and bike events, plus a car and truck show, a Miss Lone Star Rally, tattoo contest, live music and more. $35 and up. Times vary. 
• The Riot Comedy Club presents Julia Shiplett at Rudyard’s British Pub | Friday & Saturday – The comedian brings her distinctive voice and observations to Houston for a series of sets this weekend. $17 and up. Times vary.
• Vintage Market Days at Brazoria County Fairgrounds | Friday to Sunday – This vintage-inspired market features one-of-a-kind finds from jewelry and antiques to clothing, home goods and more. $8 and up. Times vary.
• Shepherd School Opera presents Street Scene at Brockman Hall for Opera | Friday & Sunday – Kurt Weill’s Street Scene is a blend of European opera and American musical theatre, with lyrics by Langston Hughes. Set on a New York street in summer, a secret is revealed that leads to violence. $25 and up. Friday 7:30pm; Sunday 2pm.
• Día de los Muertos at Children’s Museum Houston | Saturday & Sunday – This two-day family funfest gives you the opportunity to make sugar skull masks and marigold garlands, listen to Mariachi music and more. $15 for ages 1 and up. 10am to 6pm.
• Preservation Houston: Good Brick Tour at Multiple Locations | Saturday & Sunday – Join Preservation Houston for an inside look at five exceptional historic homes, including a modernized Montrose duplex, a mid-century Fifth Ward gem, and a lovingly restored Craftsman home in the First Ward. $25 and up. Noon to 5pm.
• 10th Annual Palestinian Festival at Crown Festival Park | Saturday & Sunday – Experience Palestinian culture at this celebration in Sugar Land that includes vendors, food, exhibits, music and more. International superstar Haitham Khalaily performs nightly. $11 and up. Saturday 1pm to 11pm; Sunday 1pm to 9pm.
• 2022 World Series: Houston Astros vs. Philadelphia Phillies at Minute Maid Park | Saturday & Sunday – If necessary, the best-of-seven World Series will return to Houston for Game 6 and a winner-take-all Game 7 at Minute Maid. Tickets are sold out, but you may find better, cheaper or hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 7pm.
• Performing Arts Houston presents Blue Man Group at Jones Hall | Saturday & Sunday – Featuring pulsing, original music, custom-made instruments, surprise audience interaction, and hilarious absurdity, join the Blue Men in a joyful experience that unites audiences of all ages at Jones Hall. $39 and up. Times vary.
• Comedian Chris Rock at Smart Financial Centre | Saturday & Sunday – The comedian, actor and writer brings his Ego Death World Tour to Sugar Land for back-to-back nights. $49.50 and up. 8pm.

• Seascape at Alley Theatre | Daily | Ongoing – Edward Albee’s Pulitzer Prize winner explores marriage and what it means to be human in this story of a couple who take a walk on the beach, only to meet another couple who rise from the ocean. $51 and up. Showtimes vary.
• Stages presents Plumshuga: The Rise of Lauren Anderson at the Gordy | Daily | Ongoing – With a story that is at once perfectly Houston and absolutely universal, Plumshuga explores the life and legacy of Lauren Anderson, the first Black woman to be named a principal artist for a major American dance company. The world premiere blends spoken word, dance, music and theater for a look at Anderson’s life, and an exploration of what it means to follow your dreams. $30 and up. Showtimes vary.
• Put Your House in Order at Rec Room | Thursday to Saturday | Ongoing – This romantic comedy/thriller/horror story about a first date that turns quickly into a race against an invading force is a Houston premiere. $10 and up. 7:30pm.
• Houston Grand Opera presents The Wreckers at Wortham Center | Saturday | Ongoing – Continuing its commitment to presenting new works and giving favorites new looks, HGO offers the first-ever fully staged production of this 1906 opera by Dame Ethel Smyth. It’s the story of a coastal community where shipwrecks are common and pillaging a given. But what happens when someone begins warning the ships of what’s to come? $25 and up. Friday 7:30pm; Sunday 2pm.
• TUTS presents The Secret of My Success at Hobby Center | Daily | Final Weekend – Based on the popular Michael J. Fox movie of the same name, this brand-new, TUTS-driven musical is the story of what success looks like—and what you’ll go through to hold on to it. $40 and up. Showtimes vary.
• Dirt Dogs Theatre presents Coyote on a Fence at MATCH | Thursday to Saturday | Final Weekend – This play by Bruce Graham explores good and evil, justice and mercy, and is based on the story of a Texas death row inmate. $30 and up. Showtimes vary.
• 4th Wall Theatre Co. presents The Thin Place at Spring Street Studios | Thursday to Saturday | Final Weekend – Linda can commune with the dead and she can make you hear them—if you believe. Opening 4th Wall’s 2022-23 season, this affecting play that explores the lines between life and death, and how they shape reality. $32 and up. Showtimes vary.
• Houston Grand Opera presents La Traviata at the Wortham Center | Friday & Sunday | Final Weekend – One of the most stirring operas in the canon, this is the story of the courtesan Violetta who falls in love with the noble-born Alfredo. Jealousy, classism and tragedy unfold against Verdi’s incredible music. $25 and up. Showtimes vary.

• Shadow Puppet Theatre presents Fall Leaves Fall at the Woodlands Children’s Museum – Young readers and book lovers can interact with each other during this imaginative presentation of the book, Fall Leaves Fall, which showcases all the changes and excitement fall brings. $7.50 for ages 1 and up. 11am.
• Westchase District Farmers Market at St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church | No Cover – Shop local for a variety of produce, homemade baked goods, cheeses, homegoods and more. 3pm.
• World Series Game 5 Watch Party at Minute Maid Park – The final watch party of the season takes place on Thursday when the Astros take on the Phillies in Game 5 in Philadelphia. You can gather with fellow fans to take in the action on Minute Maid’s big screens and enjoy ballpark festivities throughout the game. Vouchers are $1. 5pm.
• Feel Good Market at the Ion | No Cover – The innovation hub hosts this monthly, first-Thursday event featuring vendors selling jewelry, ceramics, treats and more, plus music and food from around the region. 5pm to 8pm.
• Buffalo Bayou Partnership Gala at the Water Works at Buffalo Bayou Park – Join the organization for its annual gala, a fundraiser for ongoing efforts to establish and steward parks, trails, and unique spaces that unite communities all along the bayou. $600 and up. 6:30pm.

• DaCamera presents Michael Harrison in Conversation at the Menil Collection | FREE – Composer and pianist Michael Harrison joins DaCamera’s Artistic Director Sarah Rothenberg and Menil’s senior curator Michelle White for a conversation exploring Walter De Maria’s involvement in avant-garde music in the 1960s. 7pm.
• Author Margaret Wilkerson Sexton with Kiese Laymon at Kindred Stories – Author Margaret Wilkerson Sexton joins Kindred Stories in Third Ward to discuss her novel, On the Rooftop, a story of a mother who dreams of musical stardom for her three daughters, which collides with the daughters’ dreams for themselves. • The Riot Comedy Club presents Dan St. Germain at Rudyard’s British Pub – The writer, comedian and actor, who’s appeared on Conan, This Is Not Happening, Adam Ruins Everything and more, brings his signature wit and observations to the stage. $15 and up. 7pm.
• Houston Texans vs. Philadelphia Eagles at NRG Stadium – Thursday Night Football comes to Houston as the Texans take on the Eagles. $64 and up. 7:15pm.
• Carrie Underwood in Concert at Toyota Center – The Grammy Award-winning megastar sings fan favorites and new works as her Denim & Rhinestones tour stops in Houston with special guest Jimmy Allen. $59 and up. 7:30pm.
• Demi Lovato in Concert at 713 Music Hall – The pop sensation comes to Downtown to perform live as part of their Holy Fvck tour. $50.50 and up. 8pm.
• Fashion Fusion at Museum of Fine Arts Houston | FREE – Students from Houston Community College’s fashion design program show off their creations, inspired by the museum’s artworks, in this competition and fashion show. $25 for VIP seating. 8pm.
• Itzy in Concert at Smart Financial Centre – The K-Pop band comes to town for a live performance. $59.50 and up. 8pm.
• Friday I’m in Love: The Numbers Documentary at MATCH – As part of the Houston Fringe Festival, you can catch this doc about the legendary alternative music venue and iconic Montrose landmark. $15. 9pm.
